Oh yes, I'm still here... hi... (Another page coming, I promise. Then I'll be out of the coloring for a bit so there will actually be--behold my blasphemous words--updates more regularly.) The site would be presentable by now if not for the instructions for navigation buttons being WRONG. Freakin' incorrect tutorials... Anyway, I'm just going to nab the source off another comic and write it out that way, because I've had the buttons made since August. Talk about ridiculous. And! I'm taking not one but two classes about Adobe/Macromedia media, so that's helpful because muddling through without any guidance only got me so far.
But I originally came to say. I actually joined deviantart a bit ago, (I'll have to add a link to that on the home page too), and tonight I added a crapload o' pieces I've been meaning to for foreeeveerrr. Really, most of them were a few years old and I didn't get to scan them till tonight. I think they were all character sketches too, so most of them are in my scraps so won't be visible regularly. So, technically, yeah, the comic is up, you can see it here. http://youmakemesick.comicgenesis.com But, I spent the rest of the night technologically messing around and reading tutorials, so sadly the site is still totally bare, just with the white default background. And I haven't downloaded any fonts or such yet either, so whatever I do hurriedly put up this week will certainly not be the permanent look, but something else will go up there nonetheless, because the thought of leaving it as is chafes me like nothing else. (Fortunately, this is why I haven't put out the word to anyone I know yet save one that it's up...) Now, I promise I WOULD stay up literally all night to get it pretty, because that's how I work. "Would" as in if I were by myself, maybe on a weekend to boot... but you know, I have a roommate whom I really do like, and that's just unfair. And frankly stupid considering this is Dead Week (+Daylight Savings Time, of course) and I have a heavy load tomorrow.
But no worries, because I either way I'm guaranteed to have no idea what the hell's going on in reality outside of YMMS the rest of this entire week, so it'll be splashtacular soon.

(Okay, you'll probably have no more embarrassing references to my 90's anime childhood now, hopefully.) So! I at last coerced the comicgenesis signup form into cooperation, and I've verified my account now, and I get to wait seven days for my password to come. That's how long it takes for the thing to build, so it's out of everybody's hands. But still, exciting! Soon, inevitably soon, You Make Me Sick shall at last hit the internet! (I suppose I should start finalizing matters with that second strip now...) Until then, there'll probably be no further news.
And yes, your eyes do not deceive you. I just actually managed to get Delirium without her foot blurred onto my computer too! Go hoppy froggies!

Hrrrrgh. Amazingly, I did accomplish the author report very near to my aimed time (celebration to take place sometime sane). No more of that monopolizing our time!
Unfortunately. After that, I went ahead trying to scan the two images to be used as my new userpics (one of whom you see above). Around this point my computer decided to let kick in whatever the hell has been possessing it since, oh, WINTER BREAK, and start giving me error messages about my scanner I had never seen before. It was quite disgruntling, especially at six in the morning when I actaully have to rise and... well, okay, rise, at 1:30, allowing me about six hours of sleep. On a weekend. Now, I did not realize this was due to whatever the hell finally just was exorcised/excused itself from my computer, and some of the issue may or may not have been due to my inadvertent and completely not apparent leaning on the "copy" button because I had to press down the comic book while craning within sight of my monitor. Anyway, so one time either after I'd started it up (figuring it could also be freaking out randomly because of how low its ink supply was, but not wanting to change inkjets yet if it would recover by rebooting) or before, it finally started copying (since I'd attempted to appease its seemingly random demands for paper--something theoretically unnecessary for scanning, you'd think), so I let it just get that out of its system. It then notified me of its low ink supply, so I declared "FINALLY!" and replaced the inkjet, which the manual I actually had to dig out made seem waaaay simpler than it was. Well, only one part was hard (which I sought the blatantly unhelpful manual for), getting it to actually hold on to the damn thing, which I think actually was my scanner just defying me because it can, because really I didn't do much different when it finally went into the stupid clamp.
When I restarted it, my computer also decided to take the rather unwarranted liberty of installing its updates it'd been pissing at me about earlier, which I'd also attributed its freakout to.
Apparently these updates exorcised whatever the hell decided to take over my monitor and turn everything into a weird size when I brought the system home for December, because suddenly things returned to more gadgets fitting in my sidebar, and my desktop picture is shockingly its actual size. In other words, my computer has defied all technlogical common sense {oxymoron} and returned to how it should be. Now, this is stupendous, really, but now I'm unaccustomed to the size. Nonetheless I'm grateful though, and if only Delirium's damn foot had remained in the scans more than just that first time when the demon my computer hosted wanted out. So sadly, I only accomplished one of the two characters, but I'll try again later. And this is also why there is no way on Armageddon Plain I'm messing with the comicgenesis form tonight. It'll be there ~~tomorrow~~ later today.

Okay, so. I totally could stay up 'til five and get my author report done (especially after those spoons of ice cream and Lucky Charms and bag of Kettle corn... shut up), but I must deliberately avoid that because it just won't pay in the ~~morning~~ afternoon, when I'm supposed to be deciphering biblical Hebrew... for the first time... I can HEAR your stares, people, if I want to commit suicide by [ancient] language overdose, so be it! And without the freakish geekdom you would not HAVE your comic. Speaking of which, this entry is to say, even though I won't be entering it for tomorrow (though who knows if the activation e-mail would make it in time anyway) I will definitely get the Latin report finished before reporting to bed tomorrow, so I'll probably end up sending in YMMS Sunday. But this week(next week, I guess) for sure, excepting computer malfunction.

Ah, what happens on weekend nights. Last night (or what non-nocturnals refer to as "this morning") I was back and forth between Photoshop and my scanning center for hours. Phew! So after three days of resizing (HP Solution Center liiieesss), the first You Make Me Sick is now capable of being posted! Whooooooooooooo! It's about five months later than originally intended, but that's okay because now there might be some actual continuity present. Nice, huh?
Soo, it was done before I had Photoshop--mine of which is an old version I am merely operable at right now--so you'll just have to settle for the messed-up parts.
In general, I apologize for the crappy art, I haven't taken life drawing yet so it's, um... well, it could be better. (And will GET better! Yess!) This is of course totally unnecessary for me to say, because it's a well known fact you don't need jack shit of drawing ability to have a webcomic. At least not if you're aiming for humor.
Hopefully next weekend I'll launch the comic. That's the goal, because first I must work on my Latin report, and then my literature will jump in. My reward for completing work on the Latin is posting YMMS.
I'll put more explanation for the series with the first post.
