So I've pointed the IP for yerf.com and www.yerf.com to artspots.com's IP for now. I figure it's appropirate. I've also asked Higgins to forward it to yerf.artspots.com. It's the best thing I can do until I figure my webserver out, I suppose.
What do you guys think? Anything is better than nothing in my book. And my book is big and heavy. |

I've recovered this journal from kilorat via abuse support teams. kilorat aquired this journal by logging into my account without my permission and transferring it. If he had simply asked I would have given it to him. Same thing with yerf.com.
But anyway, that's enough drama. What should I do with yerf.com until I fix the web server? I've been thinking of simply pointing it at artspots if that's OK with artspots admins.
What do the users think I should do with yerf.com for now? |

| Painter halp? |
[Apr. 5th, 2008|09:12 pm] |
Hello folks! I figure this is the best (immediately available) place to ask; how does one go about learning painter? I have a tablet. I have Corel Painter IX. I'm totally lost. Are there any good online tutorials? Books? Yadda yadda.
Alternatively, if anyone likes another program better for digital painting type things (I already know photoshop; it's cool for comic-book style coloring, but sort of sucks for, well, painting) I'm all ears. |

| Stickers and Magnets for sale! |
[Jan. 9th, 2008|11:08 pm] |
Hello all! I need a little help getting to Further Confusion this year, so I'm taking pre-orders for a set of sticker and magnet designs I recently released. Originally I was going to wait until after Further Confusion, because I need all the supplies I have to make enough for my booth at the con. If you are going to to con, however, you can pick them up there! I will be at table 38 in the dealer's room, very close to the left entrance. =)
I will not be able to fill your order until after Further Confusion, so first week of February. But if you want them and aren't going to convention, call dibs on them now!
Click for large image

Individual 5" X 5" stickers - $5 each Individual 5" X 5" magnets - $7 each Full sticker set - $18 Full magnet set - $25
USA shipping - $2 International shipping - $4
Send me an email at wolfnymph@gmail.com with the following information:
1) your name and email address 2) your shipping address 3) which products you want 4) how many you want
My paypal address is the same email address as above, but if you want to send a check or a money order, I'll send you a mailing address for that. An important note about paypal! If you are using a card of any kind (debit or credit) through paypal, please add $3 to your payment to cover card fees! In the subject of your paypal payment email, include your name so I can sort out who can paid for what.
Once I get your payment and your order, I will send you a confirmation email to make sure I have the right person with the right stuff. So, order away if you want them! It's my hope that these pre-orders will help me pay for the hotel room for the convention. =)

| $8 commissions |
[Jan. 9th, 2008|11:28 pm] |
| [ | Current Mood |
| | busy | ] | X-posted, so I apologize if this shows up on your f-list four times.
Hey guys :]
I've still got Christmas bills to pay off and all that fun stuff, so my $8 commission thing is still running.
Details: One character full body, color, with a simple background. $8 (CAD). If you have something more complex in mind, email me and I'll be happy to give you an appropriate price :]
I'm relatively versatile with style, and am comfortable doing toony or more realistic work. I'm also happy to do a piece in traditional media, but shipping charges will be added to the final price if you want the hard copy.
( Examples under the cut: )
You're welcome to email me character references if you want, or you can just leave links in a comment. I'm fine with drawing either anthro or feral form.
Payment can be sent via PayPal to KatMason(at)gmail(dot)com. That's also the address to email if you have any questions :]
Thanks! :D |

Well, we're back for now! I'm working on getting uploads going and getting the forums spam-free and upgraded.
Unfortunately my internet access is limited for the time being, so it'll be on an as-accessed basis. Sorry for the delay guys, my life has been hectic. :) |

| Yerf Historical Archive project |
[Aug. 4th, 2007|04:50 pm] |
Bonjour, everyone! I have heard a lot, especially lately, how people wish that Yerf was up, even if just a permanent archive of its work, so that people can look back on it.
Well, it just so happens this can be a reality.
http://yerf.artspots.com
Now, before anyone gets their tail in a knot, let me explain. We have the whole archive from 1996 to roughly when it crashed at the end of 2004. As a matter of fact, the oldest image we have on record is 1996-03-21. According to the WikiFur entry on Yerf, SCFA/Yerf opened on April 1st, 1996. So yes, it goes back a way.
Not only do we have the image files, but due to some Internet/programming wizardry, most of them have their relevant info attached, mainly the descriptions.
However, all of an old Yerf artist's art is disabled/locked until we have permission from them to show the work. We care a lot about artists' rights, so would not display anything without an artist letting us. So go to the URL above and search for your name. You can either have your work enabled on the archive, bundled up and sent to you privately, or added to your JaxPad and/or ArtSpots account (depending). Or, you can do nothing, and your art will remain forever locked away.
Since Yerf has pretty much been relegated to history, and I admit, I like many of you enjoyed what Yerf was, I feel that it would be a shame if all of it got lost forever. |

[Jul. 31st, 2007|04:50 pm] |
So Yerf is temporarily closed until I have a more stable source of income. It'll be coming back near the end of the year.
I got some work done to the server before it went down, mostly got uploading work. For now, though, I'm not stable enough to keep it going.
Thank-you for your time. |

I'm aware the forums aren't quite happy right now and am working on rubbing their belly.
As a side note, can I get suggestions on good anti-spambot phpBB plugins or such? |

| yerf, the world, dingo, and how they relate |
[Apr. 18th, 2007|12:11 am] |
I've been the king of false promises too long to let this slide. I know plenty of people have offered to help, but Yerf is busted in a manner that I can fix myself. I'm just a procrastinator, and my trust in system administration is hard to earn.
Life is fun and I'm having fun with life nowadays. I'm taking care of everything I've procrastinated on, and believe me Yerf is on that list.
Yerf is over 11 years old now, as of 1 Apr 2007. That means I've been here since I was 14 years old. I'm going through a lot lately, so I appreciate you all having patience 'cuz quite a big list.
paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttieeeeeeeeeeence
Ratman may have started Yerf, but I've* been here longer. At one point he saved my life, literally, and I mean literally in the literal sense. I at least owe him this.
I feel the furry fandom needs Yerf, and Yerf itself may change someday as I envision it as an art improvement community, not a gallery. Time will tell.

[Apr. 9th, 2007|08:46 pm] |
Hi everyone,
I'm a web professional and rather miss Yerf. I'm able to build something very similar. If there is a demand and a way for it to self-fund, I'd be happy to produce it. I've worked on things much more complex, so I don't feel like it would be too difficult.
Please see my profile and comment on the entry related to this. Thanks! |
