There are many reasons to go to LA. You know, swimming pools, movie stars. Well now we're giving you one more! Yaoi-Con is heading once again to the biggest anime convention in the country, Anime Expo! And let's face it, even the largest anime convention just wouldn't be complete without some steamy boy-on-boy action. So be sure to stop by our booths -- 1125, 1127, 1129 -- and register for Yaoi-Con, buy some yaoi swag, or just plain say "Hi!" We'll be there all four days, so don't be a stranger!
Anime Expo will be held July 2-5, 2009 at the LA Convention Center.

For any who remember the 900 Penis Project from Yaoi Con 2008, the pictures are finally up! Sorry for the long delay - we're just glad we got it up before the next con, at the rate things were going! We ran the gamut of broken computer, cameras, cables, illness, and, of course, the ever-present difficulties of how to find the time to take pictures of 56 feet of penises.
All that paper, and we didn't make our 900 penis count. So very sad. Still, what we actually got was rather awe-inspiring in a very strange, yaoi-con kind of way.
So, for those who have been waiting to see the penises (and gave up months ago!), hoping to show their drawings to their friends, or wondering how it all turned out, here's the results of the Penis Project:

Figure I'll put something up in the forum too, but..
ISO (1) female roommate to fill a room.
1. We check in Thursday and check out Monday. We'd like someone who can at least stay three of the four nights. I'm willing to get back to a person who only wants two nights later if no one else fills the spot.
2. No smokers. Period.
3. 21 & over preferred, if only because we're all mid-to-late twenties ourselves :)
4. Fair warning: we don't mind checking out room parties, but we're not looking to host one. We're all over 21, but there won't be booze in the room. If you're heavy partier/drinker, you might have more fun elsewhere.
5. Cosplayers welcome.
6. I'd love you to death (and strongly prefer) to get at least partial payment in advance (paypal or money order are good), but otherwise, payment is expected to be cash on the first day of the con. Nothing personal, just past experience at other cons have taught me that this is the least-headache-y and drama-free way to do things.
We are three non-smoking gals from So Cal, looking to finally take some time and do some (non-Japan town) sightseeing before and after con. This will be my sixth year attending, the others have been coming for at least three I think? We're happy to help break in con-virgins or hang with vets, we're just looking for someone low-key and drama-free to share crash space with.
If interested, drop a note and I'll share my AIM/MSN info so we can chat before hand.

I see a note on the forums and the website from 3 weeks ago saying they are trying to get dates for the 2009 convention. If the dates are not ready yet, can anyone atleast let us know if they are having the convention in Sept. this year, or hopefully back in October.

Hi everyone! In my holiday cleaning I've come across a few Y-Con anthologies from years past that I sadly don't have room for any longer. If you are interested, and willing to PayPal me a couple of bucks for mailing costs, they are available to the first claimant. :) I have:
Shonen Hump official Yaoi-Con doujinshi from 2002, includes CD -- tons of stories, over 350 pages, will be a bit more than the other two to ship
2003 official Yaoi-Con doujinshi anthology -- stories from Devil May Cry, Yami no Matsuei, Record of Lodoss War, Weiss Kreuz, King of Fighters & Lord of the Rings
Minkland Basement Project 2 from 2003 -- mostly Samurai Troopers stories, one Heroic Legends of Arslan, one original

Wow!
We are finally recovering from y-con weekend. It took a lot out of us but it was worth every moment of it.
All the saff at Cafe V wanted to thank everyone who came to the cafe. Be it coming to our friday night event, stopping in on saturday or joining us for tea at our Alice in wonderland theme event on sunday. You are all an amazing bunch and we look forward to serving you again soon.
