Hello and welcome to Yaoi Fantasy!

So you're thinking to yourself, "Another community dedicated to yaoi!?" Let me tell you that this isn't just another community where you get to post yaoi manga. The purpose of this community is to bring fans together and share their writings (fanfictions, poems, thesis), artistic inspirations (icons, banners, wallpapers, fanart) and of course share their favorite manga-ka or manga with the rest of us.

You can also have discussions about anything that has to do with yaoi. This community is for you.

This is a friends-only community because yaoi ... well, it deals with homosexual relationships. So if you're not of legal age or are somebody who gets squicked by male on male love, this is not the place for you.

Of course we have to have rules so here they are:

You must 18 years of age or older to join this community. First click here and then give us either your age or year of birth in this post. Your answer will remain confidential. Once we've looked at your answer, we'll accept your join request.

Read these rules. They're bound to change as we work out the kinks but we'll let you know when they do change.

Be nice to each other. No flaming of other members. Nothing nice to say? Keep it to yourself.

Use legible English. No use of l33t. The rest of the human race wants to understand you.

Icons, wallpapers, banners, fanart: It must be your own creation. Do not post art by other artists unless you've received their express consent to post and share (there are Japanese artists who don't want their artwork posted anywhere but sharing links to their websites is acceptable).

Fanfiction: It must be your original work. Please use a beta who can really check your fic over and correct mistakes. We all make them.

Manga: No posting of:

Licensed titles in English. tokudane has created a nice spreadsheet with all the yaoi titles licensed to date. This is your guideline for posting.

Scanlating projects unless you have consent from the scanlating group. There will be a list of acceptable groups. For the time being Fushichou, Nakama, Beautiful Soup, Hochuuami, Dragonfly (mostly doujinshi), Soledad and Obsession are not allowing the sharing of their projects outside their IRC chat groups and/or websites. These are just a few that I know of. More will be added.

Scans (meaning raw scans or Chinese scanlations) unless allowed by the scanner or Chinese scanlating group.

Icons: You can have up to three icons before an LJ-cut but the rest can go under. If you want credit, don't forget to mention it in your post. No hotlinking will be allowed.

Banners, wallpapers, fanart: All under an LJ-cut. You may have teasers as thumbnails. If you want credit, don't forget to mention it in your post. No hotlinking allowed.

How to avoid hotlinking: Hotlinking is bad. It's basically stealing somebody else's bandwidth and using it as your own. It may not look so bad but in the internet community as a whole, it is as low as bonsai kittens. We recommend using LJ's Scrapbook (which comes with a paid account), Photobucket, MediaFire, Imageshack, Ripway. These are just a few. There are more out there. Take your pick.

Fanfiction: Your fic should follow the header below. Your fic should be under an LJ-cut.

Title: (your fic has to have a title, even calling it "Untitled" is fine)
Fandom: (which fandom you're basing your fic on)
Pairing: (if applicable)
Rating: (everybody uses something similar to the MPAA's system but we'll simply state it like this: G - nothing happens; PG - kissing, holding hands, innuendo; PG-13 - violence, offensive language, mature topics; R - sex, extreme violence; NC-17 - rape, explicit sex)
Warnings (shota, rape [same as non-con] or anything you think will turn your audience off)
Beta: (please list your beta either by their LJ account or an e-mail address)

Manga: Keep in mind that there are scanlating groups that don't want their work shared outside their website/forum/IRC channel. Please respect those rules. If you are found posting projects from groups that don't allow sharing of their projects without permission, your post will be deleted without notice. If this keeps occurring, you will be banned without notice. Below is the format to be used when posting scanlated or raw manga:

Title: (this is obvious)
Mangaka/Doujinshika: (credit the author)
Fandom: (this applies if it's a doujinshi)
Pairing: (this applies if it's a doujinshi)
Work safe: (kissing, hugging and hand holding is work safe; anal penetration, blow job, bondage is not work safe)
Warnings: (shota, rape [same as non-con], water sports, scat, naked manly chest that will have you drooling on your keyboard)

Here goes your LJ-cut. Below the LJ-cut, you'll have a bit more info:

Scanlating group or scanner: (you must give credit by directing us to the team's website or the name of the scanner)
Any previous chapters: (as they apply when you make your posts)

There is no limit to how many images you can post but do keep in mind that 45 images in one chapter will take a bit of time to upload when viewing. Don't let it get out of control. It is up to the poster to provide a link for download. It is not required specially if the scanlating group has a download section.

There is a limit of three posts per 24 hour period so as to not spam Flists. Your three posts may be a combination of discussion, manga, fics, icons or art but it cannot be three of each in a 24 hour period.
