Anime and manga in Wikipedia + Wikipe-tan

Whatever was happenning yesterday, livejournal was having it's server's power feed maintainence. So, I wasn't able to make an update yesterday, thanks to the matter. Anyway, I was just wanting to talk about something which have nothing to do with my usual anime updates. Just some random rants.

Well... just to announce it, a few days ago, I emailed Hung, the owner of Anime Nano about some "application error" that happened. I had also took the opportunity to request him to add this blog onto Anime Nano. He had replied, saying that he had fixed the bug and added the blog. Meanwhile, I had also sent an email asking tjhan of RIUVA, to add this blog to his blogroll, and again, he replied with a good news. Finally, it's Ex-fansubber Hinano. I had also requested her to add this blog to her blog's blogroll by leaving a comment in her blog. She then replied saying that she had done so. Well... when I had started this blog, I was expecting some responce from users in livejournal, but after three months, I see that I am not doing very well at home in livejournal here. So, I had decided to link to anime blogs outside of livejournal. I'll see how it's going.

Other than that, I also want to talk about what I had done yesterday surfing Wikipedia, after livejournal went down and I had nothing to do at that moment. I got to know that users who contributed to articles regarding animes had had a mascot for themselves, and the mascot is Wikipe-tan, a dark blue haired chibi wearing a maid outfit with Wikipedia's trademark puzzles as her hairband. She was first drawn by Wikipedia user Kasuga, was introduced in the Japanese 2chan channel, and now, her face appears in most, or perhaps, all anime and manga related article's discussion page. Well... although I am the one who started the "anime" page in the Bahasa Melayu Wikipedia, I see that no other users are actually interested in translating anime or manga related articles into Bahasa Melayu. However, it had improved as time went on, as I had found an anime category in MS Wikipedia, although most of it's articles listed are empty. Somehow, Wikipe-tan is also featured in the Bahasa Melayu page. I wonder why. =\

I also found an article on Comic Weekly a.k.a Manzhou, the Malaysian manga serializing magazine which I had been reviewing. However, the article is due for cleanup sooner or later if no one improves the article. From here, I had also found the MxO page. It looks like I had made a mistake all along: MxO is not MxO (em x oh), but M×0(em × zero), and note that the × sign is not x, just like xxxHolic, which should be ×××Holic. The × sign is a variable, as used in maths, in where × may represent anything (for example, Workaholic, or Alcoholic). However, in M×0, I have no idea why did they use the variable sign.

I have school tomorrow. I'll stop for now. I shall do a review for Kanon episode 4 and 5 when I get back home tomorrow. Until then. Don't expect much from me. =\

Hm... thanks for informing me on the xxxHolic business. I always wondered what the name implied. =D

The “×” (u+00d7) sign that you used isn't a variable sign but according to Unicode standard it is multiplication or Cartesian product sign. So “M×0” makes sense.
However in “×××Holic” it's probably just improperly used so “×××” means variable here.

Well... I don't think it's wrong either. Some might even go for XXXHolic. ^^
