Remedial Anime Awards, October 2006
So... the winner of Anime Saimoe Tournament 2006 is... desu. You know who. If you still don't, watch the above video clip. After watching it and if you still don't get it, go and bang your head against the wall. On the other hand, Shana got the 4th placing. I suspect that those Shana voters aren't aware of the third placing votings. Bleh.
Okay, back on topic. I did not know that time goes by so quickly, and again, it's time for this blog's Remedial Anime Awards. Inspired by Anime Desho Desho's "Anime Desho Desho Rwar", the main purporse of having such an award is to praise and note a specific matter (characters, soundtrack, etc), so that other people might as well know them better.
Personally, I did not make any preparation to nominate this month's nominees. However, due to the fact that there are many new animes being released, and I had actually picked up quite a few, and so, this month's winners wouldn't be based on a few specific anime like the past. Although so, I must still admit that it is still hard to choose who or what to win the the titles, especially the Seiyuu part, due to the fact that I do not actually follow, or in another word, stalk voice actors. Mainly, I have been following Tomokazu Sugita, but he was already last month's winner, so I guess that means that he is automatically out of this month's contest. Well, I have found someone to replace Tomokazu anyway. =P
Aizawa Yuuichi
Aizawa Yuuichi is the main hero of the anime Kanon, and again, he resembles Kyon from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya a lot, although Kyon has longer sideburns. Well... there are guesses that Aizawa Yuuichi is Kyon, since nobody actually know about Kyon's real name. Kyon and Yuuichi actually share the same voice (Tomokazu Sugita) and personality, although Kyon is obviously more perverted than Yuuichi. But who knows? Kanon is indeed a hentai game. Personally, that amuses me, being a fan of Kyon, and now, Yuuichi.
Iokawa Karada
Well, not many cute little loli characters get the chance to turn into a fully developed (she has big breast) bishoujo, don't they? In this case, she was the one who wished for it. However, being an adult means that you will have to take full responsibility of yourself. In here, Karada struggles in life as she regretted her wish. Karada portrays a view of life on the other side, where kids wanted to be a grown-up as soon as possible, but didn't realise that they will miss their childhood once being a grown-up.
Mokona
Mokona is one of CLAMP's creation, first featured in Magic Knight Rayearth. In Tsubasa Chronicle, Mokona plays the role of communication, where the little white manju-bun-like character with a red round scarlet on it's forehead follows Syaoran and the gang in the quest to find Sakura's missing feathers. Mokona claims to have up to 108 secret abilities, while most of the abilities remains unclear.
Dr. Kyle
One of the characters which started as an ally to Syaoran and his gang in one of the world they have been to, Dr. Kyle appears as a villian. He tried to steal the feather which Sakura had won in the Dragonfly race. However, the attempt was foiled by Mokona. Syaoran would not have expected Dr. Kyle to reappear again.
Hikari no Kisetsu - Suara
Like I said before, this song has the original Japanese summer taste, and a delicious slice of life. I don't know what more could I say about this song. As for the singer, I found out that she has also been involved in singing the themes of other animes, such as Utawarerumono and To Heart 2.
Shissou - LAST ALLIANCE
Well... I decided to give a chance to Ouran to be on the list. This songs is quite catchy, and the I like the beat.
Best Scene: none (I'm too lazy to take one)
"I'm a normal transfer student."
In a conversation between Yuuichi and in Kanon the remake's second episode, Aizawa Yuuichi and Misaki Kaori from Kanon, in where she said, "You were acting pretty suspiciously, so I was wondering if you were a spy from some secret agency who had snuck in." Yuuichi replied the above quote. It reminds me of Itsuki from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Who is Yui Horie? She is the person who made the irrisistable "uguu~" in Kanon. She is Baka-Pink in Negima. She is the blonde, rich princess in School Rumble who had shaved Harima's beard and hair. She is also Iron Maiden Jeanne from Shaman King, and Rokuna from Mon Colle Knight, although I haven't watch the Japanese version of these two animes to enjoy Horie Yui's voice. They should have chosen someone better to play Rokuna in the Bahasa Melayu version of Mon Colle Knight, eh. =\
