Byousoku 5 Centimeter - "a chain of short stories about their distance": More information


Earlier, I had made some research on "Byousoku 5-centimeter", an anime which I had known from the Gempak! magazine I had bought earlier.

It seems that the creator of the drama genred anime, Shinkai Makoto, is also quite famed. In my own opinion, I think that he can be the second Hayao Miyazaki. Honestly, Shinkai's works are comparable with Miyazaki's. They both work on their own, and their works are usually movies, or in another word, Original Animation Video, OAV. His famed works include "She and Her Cat", "Voices of a Distant Star" and "The Place Promised in Our Early Days". He would be releasing "Byousoku 5 Centimeter" in spring 2007, which is around January, I suppose.

The official Yahoo! Japan Byousoku 5 centimeter website contains quite a number of CGs. There might be a synopsis of the 3 episode OAV, but I couldn't recognize any of them as I am Japanese word-blind. Although, it would be great if any fan-subbing group would translate and sub them into English. I wish I could start one, but I think the main requirement I'll be needing is the knowledge on how to add subs onto videos. I'll remove that thought of my mind for now, as I'll be having a bumpy and unstable life online as time goes on.
