10:00 pm - Podcast question I wonder,has Kappei-sama had any involvement in any seiyuu-related podcasts? Switching gears,this is relatively old business,but back in October he and Yumiko Kobayashi were co-guests on a regular radio show co-hosted by Romi Paku and Tomokazu Seki.If anyone is interested,there's some pics you can find by clicking that link... Gomen nasai if I bring up "girly seiyuu" more than I should even though I maintain this forum.Besides Kappei-sama,I'm primarily a josei_seiyuu fan;and being a guy,I'm not usually inclined to follow BL unless by fluke there was some work casting Kappei as the seme and an otokoyaku as the uke... First,happy 37th birthday to Junko Takeuchi.Anyway,on the subject,as Futari wa Purikyua Splash Star(including the loosely associated Purikyua Allstars DX)is the only time that she and Kappei-sama have ever worked together in the same voice project,this raises an interesting question.Would either Gon Freecss or Naruto Uzumaki cry "miminga" if either met Inuyasha in some crossover situation as it happened in the picture below? 10:50 pm - For those who play imported video games... Though there are plans for a North American localization/release(possibly preserving the Japanese voices),this has Kappei in a rare and unusual voice role(even though his character doesn't hang around very long).Though his "partner"(for his first true paternal role)hasn't had much of a seiyuu pedigree herself,it still could've been far more worse.Now,if only he starts getting such roles in anime... Kappei-sama,happy 42nd.Two other seiyuu also have birthdays today(Shozou Iizuka who turns 74 and Youko Asada who turns 38),but most seiyuu fans remember this as your birthday.Just celebrate it wisely and make sure Muupu isn't present to spoil your party,OK? 11:28 pm - What scares me about BL/yaoi/shounen-ai... According to many sources(including this apparent BL audio drama database),whenever Kappei-sama is in a male-slash anime or CD drama,his love interest/admirer is always voiced by a male seiyuu;and to me it just seems sick and wrong.As my other favorite seiyuus(besides Kappei)tend to be josei_seiyuu,why can't there be frequent instances in BL of his character's admirer/lover being voiced by an otokoyaku?He has been in anime when he has been surrounded constantly by female seiyuu in the recording room(i.e.,Purikyua SS).Any such ideal pairings come to mind? Maybe it's because Futari wa Purikyua Splash Star beginning with episode 14 turned out to be one of his toughest roles yet(I'm only 7 episodes in because the fansubber can take months between episodes),but why does it seem to be a blessing in disguise that he hasn't had any new roles since that series ended a month ago?Hopefully,he's resting with his wife and kid(s)...
