Welcome to xxxholic_awards, a weekly icontest community dedicated to the CLAMP manga and anime series, xxxHOLiC.

What is xxxHOLiC?
Gasp! How could you not know??? xxxHOLiC is one of the two main active series that CLAMP is currently working on (the other one being Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE). It is currently running in Kodansha's Young Magazine, and new chapters of it is released on a weekly basis.

The story is set in modern-day Tokyo, and starts when a high school boy named Watanuki Kimihiro stumbles upon the wish-granting shop of Ichihara Yuuko while attempting to escape from spirits. After making a deal with [the very eccentric] Yuuko in which he may have his wish granted, Watanuki becomes a part-time employee at the shop. The series pretty much takes off from there.

Just like any other icontest community, the rules are simple, but nevertheless essential.

1. Only OFFICIAL manga/anime images from xxxHOLiC may be used. There are some exceptions (i.e. crossover series), but be sure to confirm them with me ahead of time.
2. Please remember your netiquette. Since this is a community, politeness, curtesy and co-operation among all members is required. No drama is tolerated in this community. If conflicts arise (which is sometimes inevitable), work it out privately somewhere else.
3. Don't cheat. An example of "cheating" in this case would be advertising your submission prior to/during the voting period. This will result in a disqualification if you chose to do so.
4. Don't submit multiple entries from multiple accounts. This will result in a ban if you chose to do so.
5. Don't steal. This is not a community for people to drop by and take icons as they like. If you like something that you see, be sure to ask the permission of the artist who had made it, after the contest has come to a close.
6. Only members may participate. You'll have to have joined the community in order to submit and/or vote.

Remember to have fun! That's the whole purpose of this community, after all. ^_~

New themes will be posted on Saturdays before 12PM EST.

1. Icons must be no greater than 40kb and 100x100 pixels in size, and must be in .jpg, .png, or .gif format.
2. Please upload your submission to a host that allows direct linking, such as ImageShack, Photobucket or Tinypic, just to name a few.
3. Icons must be newly made. Submissions may be submitted to other icontests, as long as they're running at the same time as this one.
4. You may submit and re-submit as long as the submission post is still open for submissions and the voting post has not yet been posted.
5. You may submit up to 2 icons, unless otherwise stated.
6. If you are re-submitting, please leave a new comment to say so, even if the URL of the submission is the same.
7. Please make your submissions in the following format:

Voting will start at 12AM EST on Saturdays, and will last until 12AM EST on Mondays. The schedule will stay this way, unless otherwise specified.

When voting:
1. Please do not vote for yourself. Your vote will be discarded.
2. Please do not vote for the same icon twice. Your vote will be discarded if you do.
3. Please vote in one of the following formats:

First place: 21
Second place: 50
Third place: 32
Special category: 44

or

21, 50, 32
44

The amount of categories will change depending on the amount of submissions received for a particular week. "Special Category" changes from week to week.

The winners will be posted on the following Monday after voting has been closed.

After the winners are posted, I will NOT be revealing the identities of iconmakers aside from the 1st/2nd/3rd place and the Special Category winners. Instead, I will follow wildmusings of clamp_icontest's example by displaying only the numbers of the icons in the order from the most votes received to the least votes received. The identities of the iconmakers will be kept anonymous throughout.

This is NOT meant to be a form of insult! Rather, it's a means for the iconmakers to improve based on the knowledge of where they're standing in regards to their fellow contestants. Don't let this deter you from making icons and submitting them. Practicing is one of the best ways in which artists may improve.
