AboutThis is a community created to explore the history and heresies of Christianity. There are many people who might be religious, but who have not learned the history of their faith. We hope to answer some of their questions.
Here's a sample of some of those questions:
Who wrote the gospels? Who decided what books would become the canon of the New Testement? What political forces helped to shape Christianity? How did the Renaissance change Christianity? What is the impact of the Nag Hammadi and Dead Sea scrolls? How is the faith growing and changing? How did certain sects or beliefs become 'heretical'? Are there modern heresies? What are they? Can a heresy become mainstream? What is the difference between orthodoxy and heresy?
Discussion and debate are welcome, but attacks and flames are not. This is not a conversion community, so please do not try to convert or dissuade people here. Our beliefs are our own, and all beliefs are welcome here.
