THE STORY After the last stand at Alcatraz, Ororo Munroe made the decision to keep Xavier's School for the Gifted open. Logan decided to stay also, even though he just suffered losses that made him a changed man. Hank Mccoy, also known as Beast, is a teacher at the school now while keeping his ties with the government. Since Alcatraz, two people showed up at the Institutes's door; two people who everyone thought was gone. Scott Summers survived the Phoenix's attack at the lake, but now he is scarred with the memories of his love becoming something he doesn't understand. John Allerdyce survived Alcatraz, returning to the Institute to find that things and people had changed since he last attended the school. Storm and Logan both accepted him back into the school, where he now takes classes with the students. In an effort to increase student bonds, Storm set up an online journal activity in which the students can talk to one another and increase friendships with people they don't know much about. So now the X-Kids struggle to go through the emotional effects of losing their mentors, trying to get along with their peers, and living a daily teenage mutant life.
