I'm also looking for a Beta reader for two of my stories, though neither is anywhere near quite as long as in the previous post :)

One story is Logan-POV, brotherly angst after leaving Team X from the Wolverine Origins movie. About 1 100 words or so.

The other is almost 3 000 words from X-Men 3: The Last Stand. Magneto-POV about Jean(Phoenix), involving some implied non-con Phoenix/Wolverine. Not explicit but I've never written any non-con before so I really want some advice before I post it.

My usual Betas aren't around. Can anybody help?

I'm looking for a beta for a fairly large fic I'm working on (only got a few sections done so far), but not for writing and mechanics check. I already have a wonderful beta and friend who does that for me, but she's only seen the movies (my fic IS movieverse but borrows from comic canon and whatnot to add depth to it), and those only a few times (she likes them but isn't a huge fan). She understands who the characters are and the barebones of canon, but I can throw her for a loop just including a comic character she's never heard of before. So while she's great at helping me improve the sentence quality and overall pacing and all of the fic, she can't really help when it comes to anything regarding the 'verse itself.

So, I need someone who knows both movieverse AND a good deal of comic canon, but doesn't mind a fic from a very movieverse focus. I also need them to know movieverse WELL. Having read the novels would be a major bonus--I don't have them, nor access to them, so it would be very helpful to have someone I can ask questions of. On the other hand, they do NOT have to be good at spelling or grammar, as I won't be asking them to look over such things.

I basically need to be able to dialogue about the background of the world--have to establish the politics (beyond just what we see in the movies), other facts, etc., and I do much better when I can chat with someone than just posting a question and getting an answer. So if you like to discuss X-Men, and don't mind going along with the few things I have set in mind for my fic's world, I'd love to make connection and get somewhere. I've got a few details to really iron out before I can do more writing.

The fic is going to end up part romance, part drama/action/adventure (in other words, people are going to pair up but also have to kick butt now and then, and there's going to be a real A-plot in there). It's also going to have Logan/Rogue (eventually) and Scott/Ororo (also eventually). If those pairings drive you up the wall, you probably don't want to talk to me, lol. I'm also seeing some Piotr/Kitty way down the road. But none of this is at the beginning--it starts at the end of X2, more or less, and takes the story beyond it. It also tosses X3 out the window--might have a few good ideas to borrow, but it didn't exist in my world. *g*

So if there's anyone out there who can dialogue with me on the background info I need to really write this thing, please comment and let me know. I'd be doing instant messaging, if that works for you (I've got Yahoo, MSN, AIM, and Jabber, so take your pick). (And though I won't release the fic to the world until it's ALL done, you will of course get a chance to read 'em as they come.)

Sorry this chapter is so bloodly late. It's the longest ever, I think, terribly complicated and my life is overly full of stressful, time-consuming stuff. Forgive me, patient readers.

Series Summary: This novel focuses mainly on the paths Iceman and Pyro take on their way to adulthood and how they discover and deal with their love for each other. It is a novel about what Joni Mitchell calls ”the dream's malfunction” and how we can learn to make our own dreams when our heroes fail us. Other X characters (including ones from comicverse and elsewhere) and OC's play prominent roles and the action begins before X1, continues through the events of X2 and X3 and concludes in the aftermath of that movie. This novel does not take X-Men Origins: Wolverine as canon.

Previously, in Days of Becoming: John has joined Magneto’s Brotherhood. After catching him performing oral sex on a “brother,” Mystique and Magneto have sent John undercover. He is to get into the bed of a Taylor Kincaid, a closeted Washington consultant working for Congressman Kemper of Idaho, and extract information on government anti-mutant initiatives. Back at the School for Gifted Youngsters, Bobby finds himself full of doubts. Although he and Rogue are supposedly the number one couple of the school, he finds himself thinking constantly about John and their time together. Doug Ramsey and Jones have formed a somewhat shady underground business called Janus Dog Node, helping various organizations and individuals hide money and information on a private, secure Internet simulacrum.
