I don't normally read much fanfic anymore, especially fanfic that features the Mulder/Scully relationship, but... I got caught up screening this particular fanfic for the Serenity of X fanfic archive, and found myself reading the entire thing and enjoying every bit of it. Yes, it's got MSR, but it was well written, and being that it's Doggett's perspective and adds a slight hint of his attraction to her made it all the better. Enjoy!

Most fanfic I read anymore is Doggett/Scully relationship and I was wondering if you guys could recommend Doggett-centric fanfic (casefile, preXF, during XF, post XF, etc.) that I could read. I haven't had much time to work on updating the fanfic archive at WE SHALL NOT FORGET so the stories there I've read already.

I'm not necessarily looking for relationship focused stories (unless you know of any that ARE NOT Doggett/Reyes, I refuse to read DRR fanfic), I'm craving strong character development and insight to what makes him John Doggett. I also would love it if the story was in character of the John Doggett we saw in season 8 of the series. AU I'm not really a fan of that genre of fanfic.

I offer up a recommendation for you guys. I haven't read it in years, but it was one of the very first Doggett fanfics that I read when I started to get back into reading XF fanfic.

rays slowly dip below the watery horizon.

"Regardless, Agent Doggett, we still have a case to solve." Dana Scully
gently rests her hand on her partner's arm and smiles at him
sympathetically.

"Yeah, well, you still have yet to convince me that we're going to
leave here with solid proof that a ghost has been haunting-"

"-Skinner assigned us to this case for his friend," and she says this
with a hint of annoyance in her voice, "Wayne Federman, if we can come
up with an explanation that satisfies his curiosity…" Scully trails off
when she sees the expression on Doggett's face.

"Aren't you afraid our names and faces are going to get plastered on
some Hollywood tabloid next to his?" Doggett shakes his head and laughs
at himself, "FBI goes Hollywood, Agents help research ghost ship for
upcoming Halloween thriller", Doggett makes up a tabloid news headline.

after midnight. His eyes scan each waiting room he passes, searching for her, for Scully.

Skinner had called him with news that Mulder was helping the FBI with the Monica
Bannan case and he had been hurt. Skinner had his hands tied up at the Bureau and
though Doggett had been out of the FBI for a couple years, he wanted Doggett to go sit

vase of a dozen roses on his desk. I smile and walk towards the
