USA Today articles + picture
This USA Today journalist has a unique conversation with David and Gillian at the Museum of Jurassic Technology.

(bigger picture at link)

'X-Files' stars hope fans still believe

It's the Museum of Jurassic Technology, a shadowy building in an otherwise banal business district, where the peculiar, unlikely and doubtful are showcased with sincerity and reverence.

Duchovny stands before a glass case where a quintet of small dishes of silvery powder sits on a revolving tray. A plaque identifies them as 1.) Possession, 2.) Delusion, 3.) Paranoia, 4.) Schizophrenia and 5.) Reason.

"This is the actual manifestation of those things," Duchovny says with amused matter-of-factness.

There's also an article on X-Files fans: The Mulder-Scully fans are out there

Very minor spoilers only in the movie summary. If you're trying to stay unspoiled, just skip ahead when you realize they're starting to sum up the movie. :)

Hey they're fans too... but they got the whole shipper thing wrong... yes there are shippers out there who are like that (in it only for the relationship thing)... but there are also shippers out there (like myself) who are fans of the mythology as well... who like a good balance of the two (the relationship and the plot line :)).

Same way with Noromos, there are some out there who respect the relationship, since it became part of the canon of the show... so in the end, it works both ways. Not every shipper fits into that nice and tidy little stereotype and vice versa with the noromos.

Oh, I agree, and even within this there are further breakdowns: those who like the M/S relationship dynamic but don't like it in a romantic light, for example, and those who saw romance in the relationship before it became canon - all sorts!

And people who like villains and/or secondary characters, coughcough.

I don't think there's any right or wrong way to view the show. It's just that the MSR and shippers have garnered most of the publicity for the second movie (and rightfully so, since that is a key element), but it's super to see an acknowledgement that there are many layers to the show and many types of fans, even if they oversimplify. :)

Yep, this fandom is cool due to that -- so many different groups, and yet -- for the most part, we tend to respect each others view points.

I second that. It looks that way. Heck yea it is, and it's cool of them to respect the fans this time around :). They've truly have earned some from me and I'm DAMN proud to be a Phile!!! :D

I completely agree! The "white picket fence" idea makes me shudder, but I'm still freaking out over the M/S interaction.

I agree, they did get the shipper thing wrong. Why is there the perception that we want the new movie to be "Mulder and Scully move to Pleasantville".

*sigh* It's annoying to be boxed in.

But the interview between David and Gillian was really cool and different.

the museum of jurassic technology is one let down of a museum. it has so much potential in its utter weirdness, but most of the exhibits are badly organized or you can't figure out the significance of them.

Thanks for this! Both articles were different from what we keep seeing.
It's so sweet that Leyla Harrison got a mention in the second article. I remember reading her stories and tearing up when they named a character after her.

I like the first article :). It's not an annoying redux of the questions they've been asked over and over again, and that fans have read over and over again. It's very unique, and a good idea.
