Why hello again, philes.

I am hosting a "Death Match" in my journal. 50 nominations were voted down to 30, and then 15 pairs were made at random.

What I'm trying to say is, MULDER IS INVOLVED IN A FIGHT TO THE DEATH WITH BEN LINUS.

Please vote. It may be too late, the alien ship might be above us all in 2012, but a rally really isn't out of the question.

Otherwise, Mulder feels like this:

5th-Dec-2009 12:02 pm - Drawings
1
I tried searching through the past entries to find this because I'm sure there's a few posts mentioning it but I wasn't lucky.

During the filming of XF2, some of the cast and crew participated in a National Drawing Day (of sorts? Possibly for charity or something, I really don't remember the specifics).. and Gillian Anderson drew a photo that somewhat summarized the plot of the movie.

I used to be able to find the website that all the drawings were up on from previous years and such but I'm not having any luck finding it or the drawing. There was also the musical sheet of the X-files theme drawn by Mark Snow, I think?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

mulder scully paranoid
I'm trying to find out why The X-Files Timeline has the events of "The Jersey Devil" happening before "Conduit" -- they don't give an explanation for how they got the dates. Since "The Jersey Devil" aired after "Conduit," I would assume the events of "Conduit" happened first, but I'm curious as to why The X-Files Timeline has it reversed.

A bunch of random X-Files-related questions:

1. If you could give one piece of advice to Scully, what would it be?

2. If you could give one piece of advice to Mulder, what would it be?

3. Do you have an X-Files collection? What kinds of things do you have?

4. What minor character did you want to know more about?

5. Do you think Mulder and Scully will succeed in saving the world in 2012?

Hey people this is my first fanfic and I really would like to hear your opinion. Like it? Why the hell would like my work? Hate it? Tell me what’s wrong with it. Thanks. :)

19th-Nov-2009 12:40 pm - Season 8: Badlaa
[x-files] just scully
Hey Philes - so I'm fairly new to the fandom (been here since April!), and I'm slow so I'm still on my first run through of the series. Yesterday I watched Season 8's Badlaa. I was dreading the episode because everybody I had talked to had told me that the episode was completely ridiculous, was totally gross, was one of the worst in the series, etc. etc. I was going to skip it... but I'm glad I didn't.

I agree that the case file is pretty ridiculous. I don't even completely understand it - but that's partly because I wasn't really paying attention to the case file while watching the episode. I thought that Scully was really awesome in this one. At the end, she shoots what she thinks is a young boy just on an act of faith. She believed that it's what Mulder would have done, and she knows that he would've been right. For the whole episode, she's just trying to be the believer, to fill the empty void that Mulder has left.

It's sad that people forget about the beautiful parts of this episode (Scully talking to Mulder's friend Chuck, a man whom she never would've taken seriously before; Scully trying to tell Dogget to keep an open mind, something Mulder was always trying to tell her; Scully doing unauthorized procedures because she needs to find the truth, etc.) because other parts of it aren't so great.

Do any of you actually like this episode? Is it widely accepted throughout the fandom that Badlaa is just a joke? Do you guys usually skip this episode on your rewatches? Maybe you shouldn't skip it next time. ;)

Just curious! Thanks for any comments. :)

18th-Nov-2009 06:06 pm - Scully's gift in Tempus Fugit/Max
mulder scully paranoid
I was just watching Tempus Fugit/Max, and I was wondering about the key chain that Mulder gave Scully: do you think Mulder was just being a lazy gift-giver (like when he got her "Superstars of the Superbowl"), or did the gift actually have a meaning? Or could it have been a little bit of both?
18th-Nov-2009 01:06 pm - William
xf: scully; thoughtful iwtb
So I've been doing a selective re-watch of the show, concentrating mostly on the mythology episodes, and saw William last night. I think most fans agree that the whole baby-arc wasn't one the smartest ideas of CC & Co., it's all just way too confusing and in the end so horribly sad.

But then again, how would you have done it? Should William have been completely normal, instead of a part-alien saviour-of-humankind (or... you know, whatever he is)? Should Scully not have given him up? Should she never have had a baby in the first place?
I really can't decide. On the one hand, having a baby was one of Scully's biggest wishes for years, so it was nice that eventually she was able to have one. But the way it all turned out makes me think maybe the disappointment and pain of not being able to have a child would've been preferable to the pain she felt (and still does feel in IWTB) over having to give him up. I also think the whole baby-arc would have been better if Mulder had still been there, but maybe that would've been a bit too soap-opera-ish? But on the other hand, having Scully first loose Mulder and then her baby was really cruel (I really don't know how she got through all of this without going completely mental).

I don't know, and I'm really not sure what would've been the best choice (except maybe ending the show after season seven or eight). I'd love to hear what do you guys think, how would you have handled the (not) baby story line?
