Please note that you must be at least 18 years old to join this community. Membership must be approved. If you don't have information on your LJ that assures us that you are 18 or over, we will PM you and ask you to send us an age statement before your membership is approved.

What is a porn battle?

A porn battle is where fans produce the hottest fanfic/art/videos possible based on prompts, and post them in the comments of a livejournal community for all to enjoy. It lasts about two weeks, there are tons of prompts to work from, and it's a battle where EVERYONE WINS! In pr0n!

Although this is called a battle, it's not a competition in any real sense. You can be competitive if you like and try to write more fics than anyone else does, but the only prize is the satisfaction of knowing that you kicked some serious smutty ass.

The originator of the porn battle is oxoniensis, who has generously allowed us to adapt her FAQ and rules. We thank her with virtual cookies, pie, and slobbery kisses.

So, how does this work, anyhow?

1. A post calling for prompts will go up on the community on Monday, September 14, 2009.

2. If you'd like to leave a prompt, reply to the prompt entry by Thursday, September 17, 2009. You don't have to be a writer/artist/vidder to contribute a prompt. In fact, you don't have to even have an LJ, since you can reply anonymously.

3. A post listing all the prompts, sorted by pairing/grouping, will go up on Saturday, September 19, 2009.

4. Writers/artists/vidders can take a prompt and create a work which they will post to the battle thread between Saturday, September 26, 2009, and Wednesday, September 30, 2009. You don't have to be a member of the community or to have left a prompt to choose one and create fic/art/video from it and you don't have to limit yourself--you can post as many prompt-based comment fics/artworks/videos as you can manage to write before the deadline.

5. After the deadline, the fic you wrote is yours to mess with, post elsewhere, expand on or just mentally fondle.

6. NO flaming or trolling. If there's any of that, we will disable anonymous posting. THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS ANYMORE!
