Isn't it great when you come across a new vidder that has a completely new and different style and makes you look at the show and those clips that you have seen a million times with a completely fresh outlook.

Well I have come across these two wonderful videos by KatrinDepp on YouTube.

She seems to mostly vid House so there aren't that many XF fans in her subsribers list, so her videos need a little love from the fandom. I know you will be blown away by these edits and they deserve a tonne of views and recognition so that she hopefully vids some more X-Files!

Firstly Touched which is both fast past and sentimental. Her editing style really drives the video along wonderfully and she encompasses all parts of Mulder and Scully's stories together.

Secondly Back To The Beginning, which was wonderuflly emotioanlly moving largely due to the song choice and editing style working in perfect tandem.

"The truth will save you Scully, I think it will save both of us."

This is a short two minute tribute to one of my favourite Mulder and Scully episodes, Memento Mori.

Posting for archival purposes so that my vids can be found via my journal and through here.

Genre: Mulder and Scully Relationship
Song: Starlight by Muse
Vidder: requiemx87

Edited Sep 2006.
One of my first videos but still an enjoyable watch! (at least I think so!). Editing largely dictated by the song. (Little note - edited with WMM).

"Hold you in my arms. I just wanted to hold you in my arms."

Introducing: New Tagging System

I am going to make searching for vids easier in this community by now allowing you, the members, to add tags to your own videos (and others' videos, when appropriate). Here are the tags I've added already.

To use, just click on the "tag" button on the entry, and select all of the tags that apply to that video. You MAY tag others' videos, but it must be appropriate to the video. You may also delete tags off of videos that are not appropriate. However, please do not abuse these privileges!

This is an incomplete list of the tags! If you want a complete list of tags, just go here.

You are welcome to add your own tags as long as you follow the convention, and as long as there is no existing tag that already covers the same topic.

Please copy the following format for all tags you create:

1) Vidder tag: vidder: username (example - "vidder: foxestacado")
2) Specific music/artist tag: music by: name of band/group/musician/artist (example - "music by: marilyn manson")

I will periodically go through the tags and delete the ones that do not follow this formatting convention.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me a good place to upload "fan" video's because youtube keeps taking mine down no matter what i do! i would like to find a place where i can upload them for download and just for viewing. Or how does one keep their video from being snagged by youtube (is there an answer to that question?)!

Thanks!

411 Low Down: It's not MSR...much. The theme here is "Monsters and Madness" showing the darker edges of the show. I've worked on this off and on since the second movie was in theaters...considering I just got my DVD copy, this is officially the longest I've ever worked on a vid and I think it shows...at least in the fact that I can't really tell anymore where it starts or ends but hopefully it flows, there's alot going on. I used stuff from all nine seasons and the first movie (my computer hates me right now). Nothing from the second movie though. I tried to use the more ignored clips so it should be something different to watch.

THANKS to [info]leucocrystal for checking it out for me. ;)

ETA: YouTube changed to letterbox without me noticing, so here's a better upload: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqbLRowUKJE

_______________________________________________

XFN is undertaking perhaps the biggest fan project in television/motion picture history and in the words of Fox Mulder, "These people need my help."

These people being us, my being you, well, you get the picture.

As "The X-Files" is a worldwide phenomenon, we feel this needs to be a worldwide project with participation from individuals and groups across the globe.

Without giving too much away (in true "X-Files" fashion we are keeping much of it under wraps), XFN is asking fans to film themselves in their hometowns across the world.

While filming at recognizable locations such as "Big Ben" or the "Eiffel Tower" would be fantastic, it is not required.

We need two clips from each fan or fan group to be kept under one minute, 30 seconds each.

Clip 1: We are asking fans to yell THE PHRASE "Where we are from!" to the camera. You can also shout in your native languages.

Clip 2: Include a clock. It can be any kind of clock, provided we can see it (think clock tower, or even a large clock someone can hold up) with the time set to 10:13. We are asking fans to yell, "Where we are from, it's always 10:13!"to the camera. You can also shout in your native languages.

The scope of this fan project is unprecedented and XFN will be releasing it towards the end of November as a "Thank You" to both "The X-Files" and fans around the world as we rally together to generate buzz for the upcoming DVD release of "The X-Files: I Want to Believe."

Clips may be sent electronically or via regular mail and XFN is working out those particulars now.

Join XFN in this historic project and spread the word!
