Series Summary: This novel focuses mainly on the paths Iceman and Pyro take on their way to adulthood and how they discover and deal with their love for each other. It is a novel about what Joni Mitchell calls "the dream's malfunction" and how we can learn to make our own dreams when our heroes fail us. Other X characters (including ones from comicverse and elsewhere) and OC's play prominent roles and the action begins before X1, continues through the events of X2 and X3 and concludes in the aftermath of that movie.
Previously in Days of Becoming: Everyone has found their way to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters: Bobby Drake from his safe home in Boston, John Allerdyce from the streets of New York City where he was a runaway and a hustler... all the other mutants kids along the paths of their own destinies. And now Mike Haddad and Jubilation Lee have arrived, having survived a run-in with anti-mutant vigilantes. The mansion is a refuge, but within its walls, passions are raging, doubts emerging.

No, it's not done yet...and yes, this occurs just after Scott and Warren break-up so considering my last update was in Septemeber of last year, this could be one seriously weird read - timing wise anyway. It feels like things should be much further ahead, but no, that's not going to happen just yet.
Title: From the Ashes, Chapter 15

Spoilers: This is an AU MovieVerse fic, so consider spoilers from all three flicks to be in here.
Notes: This is a WIP. Just to clarify - in this fic and according to the movie time-line- Warren should be about 22-23 years old. His character in the movie verse is confusing to say the least since he's only on-screen for a few minutes. I've given him a much deeper background than what we saw in X3, and fleshed out much of his character and his relationship between his father and him in my own way. I want to stress that I don't know what Comics!Warren is like. This is just my version of what the movie verse Warren could be. cyndrarae, thank you for a wonderful beta *g*
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me.
Summary: Logan has always been alone, even though he considers himself part of the X-men. There's an emptiness in his life they can't fill, but Jean could have. For the first time since Jean, Logan is presented with a choice he's not ready for. In the meantime, Scott is trying is trying his best to deal with the aftermath of his break-up with Warren.

For those of you who may be interested, this was on the Comic Book Resources page today:
We here at Comic Book Resources are very sad to report that artist Michael Turner has died after a long battle with cancer. He was 37. Aspen Comics’ Vince Hernandez told CBR News Saturday morning that Turner passed away Friday night at 10:42 Pacific Time at Santa Monica Hospital in Calfiornia.
Turner is an artist best known for his work on books like “Witchblade,” where he got his start in comics, moving on to titles such as “Black Panther,” “Superman/Batman” and his very own creator owned series “Fathom” and “Soulfire” through his publishing company Aspen Comics. A prolific artist, he’s done work for both DC Comics and Marvel Comics, and has provided covers to some of the best-known comics published in the last ten years, including Brad Meltzer’s “Identity Crisis.”

plotThe 'mutant cure' has been defeated. Mutants' bodies have rejected the cure and created antibodies to prevent future strains from affecting their systems. However, in doing so, and combined with exposure to the Mutant X gene within them, they have created a new virus (coined 'the Cure Virus') that has infected non-mutant humans who have come in contact with mutants who took the cure. Xavier's School for the Gifted has been turned into a shelter for cured mutants, a base for uninfected human defense and a safe harbor for all other mutants whom the government believe to be dangerous to the efforts in human safety. From Magneto's perspective - a virus that's mutated and maimed the majority of the human population isn't terrible at all. The fact that the virus was produced from a 'cure' they attempted to force upon their mutant counterparts only makes it all the sweeter. However, as time passes, the Brotherhood of Mutants is discovering that the absence of able-minded humans in the nation isn't necessarily a good thing.
While Charles Xavier works toward finding a cure for this new, terrible threat to humanity, Erik Lensherr looks to their brothers-in-genes to band together and make the world right again - fully functioning and with mutants in control.
