Just wanted to take New Year's Eve to announce that since [info]x2009 was such a huge success, we're going to be running the event next year. The time frame will remain the same (sign-ups in September, due date and posting starting in October), and the set-up/rules will be done as well (CCD, X, and TB fics).

Because the modzukamori are aware that there's plenty that can happen throughout the year, we're going to announce the theme tonight, so people have a chance to think on it (or even hammer their fic out ahead of time, if they're feeling ambitious!)

Our theme for 2009 is: Now is the Time.

Have a great year, and we hope to be hearing from you in September!

Hey guys! Again, I wanted to thank all of you for making [info]x2009 such a success -- and don't forget, you can guess the identity of the authors here for a chance to win fic!

You want to know another way you can win things?

The Comment Raffle, that's how!

Here's how it works: Approximately a day after the reveal, I will tally up all the comments people have left on the fics posted to this community, assign people numbers based on how many times they've commented, and use a program to select three winners at random.
So if the fics have 300 comments altogether, and you've left fifteen of those comments, you'll be assigned fifteen (probably consecutive, to make it easier on me) numbers from 1 to 300. If one of those fifteen numbers comes up when I do the drawing, you'll win a prize!

The prizes:
1. Paid Livejournal time;
2. TB/X/CCD fic from one of the mods written to your specifications (though the fandom is subject to negotiation as long as one of the mods knows the canon);
3. A hand-decorated Moleskine journal, something along the lines of this or this.

Prizes are first-come, first-serve -- I'll contact the winners through PM, and the first person to reply to me gets first pick of the prizes, the second one gets second pick, etc.

Anonymous comments are not eligible to win, because we don't have any way of getting in contact with the anons. Sorry!

Obviously, the more comments you leave, the greater your chances of winning something, so get to it! There are a lot of good fics to comment on. (If you don't want to participate in the raffle for whatever reason, leave a comment here -- it'll be screened -- and your comments will be excluded from the total.) If you have any questions about how this is going to work, here's the place to ask them; questions will be unscreened.

Current Mood: cheerful

.

So, there you have it! Those are the 32 fics by 29 authors that we received for the inaugural round of the [info]x2009 challenge! Authors, give yourselves a pat on the back, and let's have a round of applause for all the participants!

But things aren't over yet. In a few days, we will post the REVEAL of which authors wrote which fics (so you can all update your friends-lists!). In the meantime, the mods invite you to GUESS which of the authors went by which of the pen names. You can leave your answers on this post--comments are screened--and after the reveal, the persons who guessed the highest number of authors correctly will receive a short fic on a TB/X/CCD subject of their choice from one of the mods! You need not be an author to participate--readers and lurkers can as well.

Congratulations again, and please, do take the time to read all the fics in the challenge. There's some seriously fabulous work here, for a seriously fabulous fandom that, despite being two decades old, has not gone out of style.

They can also be the shields put up to protect the areas where the Dragons of Earth and Dragons of Heaven were fighting over the seals. Yay, double meanings!
