AboutWe're here to discuss and share photos of taxidermy at it's worst -- funny anatomical abominations, ridiculous eBay auctions, cheesy novelty mounts, and just plain bad taxidermy! We also want to showcase the best and most unusual taxidermy mounts, including highly realistic or imaginative mounts as well as rogue taxidermy and mythological animals.
Community Guidelines:
Host images on Photobucket or similar hosting services. Do not hotlink images, as they tend to disappear.
Place large or multiple images behind an LJ Cut. Placing one or two medium-sized images outside of a cut is permissible. Three or more images in a row should go under an LJ Cut. Click here to learn how to create an LJ Cut.
Discuss only one mount per post unless you are documenting a visit to a location with a lot of bad, weird, or great taxidermy mounts. In other words, don't place photos of a bunch of different taxidermy mounts together in one post unless they were found in the same location.
Respect privacy! Avoid, if possible, referring to the taxidermist's name or business name in your post. The only exception to this rule is if you are showcasing their work in a positive light -- then the artist would likely appreciate the favorable mention!
Post your own taxidermy work if it is bad or unusual in some way.
Post links to weird eBay auctions for taxidermy, such someone trying to sell an old deer skull for $900 (yes, this really happened).
