Hello, Witches and Wizards!!!!
We have some incredible news to share with all of you!!! But you have to sit through a long, tedious explanation of Pattie’s life to get to the good news. Deal with it!
In mid-August, I came up with what I thought might just be my most Brilliant Idea EVER- a Harry Potter-themed cruise aboard the Carnival Fantasy to sail through the Caribbean next Halloween. I figured that I would probably have around 100 people on the cruise. It would be a rather small group, as this would be the first of its kind. I also figured it would consist mainly of my friends. I was cool with that. I also thought I might be able to convince a couple of Wizard Rock bands to join us. Just a few, and then we could have them play in one of the lounges or something. That was mid-August, when I came up with this idea and put it into motion. In a mere 3 weeks, “a couple Wizard Rock bands” turned into a CONFIRMED 10 bands. The 100 people I figured I would have booked for the entire cruise has already been reached. And it’s only September! This is incredible! I have been beside myself looking at e-mails, messages, and forums. The response Wrock the Boat has received has been mind-blowing!
But I am not the only person to take notice on how incredibly awesome this fandom is. On the last day of our room block, our Incredibly Awesome Travel Witch, Ellie, and I received an e-mail from Carnival Cruises. They stated that they were thrilled to see the response to the cruise and wondered if we would like to extend our original room block for another month. Okay, let me explain what this means. This means for a whole month, we will still be able to guarantee the same low price I have been offering. You see, every time a room block ends, I have to go back to Carnival and re-negotiate with them and get a number of rooms at a certain price. Each time I negotiate, Carnival can go up in price. But they offered to extend this room block, which means the entire deal is still available. Witches and Wizards, you have impressed the hell out of Carnival!!!!!
So, what is the actual deal? A $50 deposit is required to hold your room/reservation on the cruise. You don’t have to pay anything more until June 1st, 2008. If something comes up or you decide you can’t go on Wrock the Boat (why in the world would you decide that, though?) before June 1st, you can receive $25 refund. So, as you can see, you are not necessarily committing to the cruise, you are simply reserving your cabin. Most of the cabins are Double Occupancy. There are a few Triple or Quad cabins, but keep in mind that these rooms are incredibly small. Think Harry’s cupboard under the stairs small. Not that you will spend much time in your cabin. There will be puh-lenty to do on the ship to keep you awake all week long!
Okay, so now comes the goodies part!
If you are interested in booking your cabin on Wrock the Boat, you need to contact Ellie Martinson of Thomas Tour Travels. She can answer all your Wrock the Boat questions and help you with ALL your travel needs. It’s why we call her our Incredibly Awesome Travel Witch! Put your deposit down by October 13th. That is the new deadline for the room-block. You can call Ellie at 803-324-4242 or 800-659-1499. Or e-mail her at ellie@thomastravelmasters.com or miselliem@hotmail.com
