writingtogether the challenge community for people who want to write collaboratively. Because we all know that writing together is more fun. :D

The FAQ

Do I have to have a writing partner?
Yes, that's the point of this community. Whether there's two of you or a hundred, we're here for collaborative writings

Can we divide the table and write a story by ourselves?
No. Each author has to be a part of writing every story. This means I want two people listed as the author, not just one, since you are both involved in the writing of each story.

What can I claim?
A character, a pairing, a threesome (or moresome) or a fandom in general

How many things can I claim?
No more than three claims at once and we'd prefer it if you split the claim between fandoms.

Can I claim the same thing with different collaborators?
Sure, have fun.

How many people can claim something?
Right now, we're leaving this open. If a dozen people all want the same claim, we'll reevaluate this.

What's the minimum or maximum length?
100 word minimum, no maximum length

What ratings are accepted here?
Any and all. Just give adequate warnings

Are crossovers and AUs allowed?
Of course. Have fun with the AU. If you're writing crossovers, keep it to less than half the prompts or claim it as a crossover.

Is Real Person Fic allowed?
Yes

Can I use previously written fic?
Sure. But, again, for less than half the prompts please.

Can I use multiple prompts for one story.
We'd rather not. If you're writing an epic and each chapter gets a prompt, that's a little different, just let us know.

Do I have to write them in order?
Absolutely not.

Can I apply fic to more than one challenge?
It's okay with us as long as it's okay with the other community that you're writing for.

Does my pairing/threesome/moresome/etc have to be in the story?
Yes. They don't need to be the absolute main focus, but they need to be a part of it.

Are there any deadlines?
No, not really. We'd prefer a post at least every few months though.

Headers and cuts:
Please us a full header including: Title, authors, rating, disclaimer and summary. LJ-cuts are necessary and needed for the text, but do not hide the header behind the cut. Feel free to use a fake cut to link to somewhere else.

Tagging:
We'll assign you a tag. When posting here, feel free to tag with your tag and the rating of the fic.
