I was sick and tired of advertising my own two communities in general LJ promo and advertising communities. Plus, I had to wade through so many "keywords" and "interests" to find creative writing communities to join! I thought, "There must be a better way". And so, this community was made...
Function and Purpose
This community is designed for is specifically for those who maintain writing communities to advertise their communities. Specifically, it is for creative writing communities. Those who are members can also use this community to post news about their community (such as the "latest and greatest" that's going on in their realms).
Edit: I forgot this point, but this is also a place for those who are searching for a certain type of writing community to post. I encourage it! And the more of us that get in here, the more we can help those who are searching to find communities!
I want this community to be free and open to all, but for that to happen, some rules must be made to keep the peace and encourage happiness and well-being among the members! (Yes, I am looking out for you all. ^~)
Rules
1. Methodology for Posting - Post your community's URL (use <%lj%comm=%communityname%> for the LJ tag...take out the %'s) and give a synopsis of what your community is about. Never simply link to your join page. Such entries will be deleted, and the user will be banned. Please keep entries short and concise, or put them behind an LJ-cut. Please visit here if you need help with the HTML.
2. Please keep community advertisement posts limited to once a day. If I find that users are abusing this rule, I will make all adjustments to the community necessary and will delete the posts. Please, for all our sakes, be user friendly. Those who are making announcements (spreading news) about what is happening in their community do not have the same limitations, but PLEASE keep posts short. Again, make use of the LJ-cut tag if a longer post is required. Those searching for a community have fewer rules for rate of posting and length.
3. No illegal advertisements.
4. Keep it kosher! Please do not advertise communities specifically for pornographic material, including adult fiction. (There are other places to do that, and if you don't like this rule then don't join). There are many other places to spread smut just for the sake of spreading it. People who want to find it know how to. :P
5. Again, this is an advertising community for WRITERS and their writing communities. All found advertising other communities that do not fall under this category will have their posts deleted and they will be banned.
