AboutContemporary fantasy fiction is about far more than escape to other realities. Freed of the constraints and preconceptions of other kinds of fiction, it holds up a mirror to reflect on this world and time through the prism of vivid characters and enthralling drama that engage the imagination like no other genre.
We are Sarah Ash, Chaz Brenchley, Mark Chadbourn, Juliet E McKenna, Deborah Miller, Stan Nicholls and Jessica Rydill.
Our work covers the gamut of fantasy writing from orcs and dragons, through high heroic swords and sorcery to reimagining of myth and history, and the magics of matter, mind and spirit.
We welcome anyone who is interested to join the group or add comments (of any length!). However, the journal will be updated and posted to only by the seven of us from The Write Fantastic at present. We hope to post to this blog once every two days (if writing permits!).
