Sunday Picture Prompt #32
It looks like I'll be doing this Sunday picture gig for now. Since I'm lazy and finals are coming up, I just asked my photographer friend whether I can use her stuff to fill in, and she agreed. So big thanks to [info]nebarnix! I also want to thank [info]blue_lightning for all the hard work she's done for this community. [info]smeddley, this one is for you, just like I promised.




Oh no! These smurfs are aflame! What a dastardly situation. Write a poem, drabble, or story using any aspect of this picture—any idea it gives you at all! You can post it to the community at large, or in the comments to this post.

If you want to volunteer to be in charge of this weekly feature, let me know; I'd prefer someone with a proven investment in the community.

But what happened to [info]blue_lightning? I loved her and her picture prompts! I mean, the burning smurfs are okay and all...

I think responders should consider using "smurf" at least once, the way smurfs do.

I loved her too! I can't really say much as to her reasons, but I suspect she's just busy and is narrowing down responsibilities and whatnot.

Oh, my... that's... interesting....

I might be willing to volunteer, I just don't know if I'd find *interesting* enough pictures (especially in light of this one). Both hubby and I take a lot of photos, mostly nature and animals, but some architectural ones, too, so I wouldn't have to worry about copyright :)

I don't know if I qualify with a "proven investment," especially in light of my dismal November crits, but...

Blue would always find them on DeviantArt. If you wanted to take it over, you could always ask for suggestions in [info]write_away_mods. ([info]nebarnix has a few more suitable ones you could run if you had trouble finding things, for instance, and I know several excellent photography communities to watch and ask people for use of their stuff. If they would like you to host it yourself instead of hotlinking, I have the webspace.)

You totally qualify as proven investment. When I say that, I just mean someone who's been with the community for a while, posting and commenting, and knows how we work. Someone who's not going to just loose interest in a week and hopscotch off because the community wasn't for them after all, y'know? Which I don't believe you'd do. You were doing Nanowrimo (WHICH YOU FINISHED, TOO!), for heaven's sake, it's not like your record isn't excellent. So if you think you have the time and want to do it, it's yours!

I can give it a try, and if people seem happy with my offerings, I'll keep doing it.

Have the time? :) That's probably the one reason I'd be perfect. The only time consuming thing I do (besides work) is fix up the house, which isn't on any concrete timetable (I've had the bathroom torn up for two months now, I think). No homework, no tests, and no time consuming social life... :) *sigh* And I never even go on vacation...

So, sure, unless there's someone else that really, really, really wants to do it (I wouldn't want to wake up next to a horse's head or anything) I'll give it a go.
