half-hearted grrrrr, lol
I'd forgotten all about this community, but... I've heard so many people today talking about what they did at "New Years". It's not New Years. There's only one of them. You could say New Year's Eve, as in the night pertaining to New Year's Day, or simply the new year, but it is not "New Years"; that's just a silly Americanism (like doing something 'on' Christmas instead of at Christmas) and we really don't want to be adopting it. Right, that's that out of my head :) < /complaining about nothing > Current Music: "All Alone On Christmas" - Darlene Love |

Hawking up
You know what really grinds my gears? People gobbing all over the street. It's unattractive, it's unsanitary and frankly i don't want it all over my shoes! Why do people need to do this? If i can manage a whole day out without needing to do that surely everyone else can. It's not exactly gonna attract anyone? Whyyyyyyyyy? Anyway, that's what really grinds my gears! |

SALESPEOPLE!
Particularly in places like mobile phone shops or electrical stores that pounce on you the second you walk in. I TRIED to look at some mobile phones in town today for research purposes and to compare prices but as soon as someone sidles up behind me saying "are you okay there...?" or "can I help yoooooou?" I just want to leave and not buy anything! If I NEED help I'll find you or at the very least look at you quizically in a "please help me" sort of way. If you breathe down my neck I won't buy ANYTHING.. possibly ever, from your shop! I know these dudes get commission but their approach just makes me angry. Leave me alone to make up my OWN mind... and sometimes people like to 'just browse'. While I'm at it salespeople who call at inconvienient times can also die. Especially when you're on the phone preference service and they shouldn't even be calling you... ..and that's what really grinds my gears |

Ganking!
Yes, you heard me right - Ganking. It really grinds my gears. I mean, come on - I know I'm on a PvP server, so I should expect it, but when I'm a level 35 mage soloing level 33 humanoids in Stranglethorn Vale, and have pulled a second mob and am obviously struggling, when some stupid fuckwit level ?? Tauren druid comes up and hits me once and kills me instantly, where is the honour in that? And when I come back to collect my corpse he does it again. Twice. Before I even have a chance to gain any health. Arsehole. Geez, no wonder everyone knows that the Horde are honourless backstabbing fucktards. OK, rant over, and I know that at least 75% of you won't have a clue what I'm going on about, but I can't be arsed to explain - I just can't be arsed with ganking today lol. And that's what really grinds my gears... |

And, while we're at it, push taps that only issue water for as long as you hold them down (like in the Flapper), how am I supposed to rub my hands together under that then Mr Plumbing Genius!? Whew! D'you know what really grinds my gears? Getting the crap for other people's incompetence. My landlord has had a go at me today because I wasn't available when British Gas came to do the annual gas safety inspection at my flat. I would've been if somebody had fucking told me they were coming. This is the second time he and his staff haven't passed the message on; I even told BG to contact me directly in future after it happened last year! Are these things really so hard?!? It's also the second time he's had a go at me for things beyond my control: the last time was when my psycho former flatmate hadn't paid the deposit, despite telling me that he had - I didn't even know the guy, but apparently that was my fault as well. I don't mind getting into trouble when I've done something wrong, but I'm getting severely hacked off at being blamed for other people's inability to act with intelligence or honesty. And that's what really grinds my gears... Current Mood: angry |

What not to watch
Grrr, fucking Trinny and Sushanna. In the first place what do they think they look like. I heard them putting some poor woman down for wearing what she wore in the 80s, and felt good about herself because and I quote "...she feels as though that was a time when she was young and looked her best, but seriously needed to wear clothes that were more suited to her now that she was in her late 30s." Bollocks! I wear the same style of clothes that I wore in the 80s. Tight black jeans with a black t shirt or scruffy baggy dungarees. Doc Martins boots, by default. I looked great then and I look fucking great now. And I'm 40. Fuck em! |

You know what really grinds my gears? People who wander around town with cases on wheels, tripping everyone up, slowing the people traffic down and generally being irritating. And you know what, if i thought for one minute that any of them were heading away on their hols i'd be cool about it. But no, they just take these fucking tanks shopping and to work. Why? smileys
why do people think that they can say any insulting/patronising/irritating thing that comes to mind via text or e-mail provided that it's followed by a smiley? i'm sick of it. have the courage of your convictions! don't try and flower it up at the end to make me your best mate. "lauren, could you please remember to turn the lights off as you never do and it's really shit and it makes me want to kill myself :-)" "lauren, you really fuck everything up :-)" "lauren, please stop being a stupid idiot all the time :-)" so i'm gonna show em. next person does that is gonna get a response that goes like this - "you're a fucking fuckhead and i hope you die :-)" regardless of who they are. ... and thats what really grinds my gears. You know what really grinds my gears? Why does everyone in the world want my money? Why does the prospect of my money staying in my pockets offend you so much? If I want to make a purchase I will go looking for it at select the most promising competitor. I definately wont go to you if you get in my face Stop advertising to me everywhere I go in every method possible Stop texting me to see if I want to upgrade my phone Stop trying to get me to give £5 a month to your charity when 90% of it pays you to hastle me on the street Stop spamming me Stop approching me on the street with your sob story Stop emailing me with business oppurtunities from Nigeria involving the transfer of a large sum of money Stop sending me spoof emails to steal my ebay/paypal details Stop using ever increasingly cunning pop-ups pretending to be windows informing me my computer needs speeding up Stop cold calling my house Its my money and thats the way its staying, get used to it and thats what really grinds my gears Current Mood: its MY money |
