Brokeback Mountain
This isn't spoiler-y, I promise.
Maybe I'm going to get killed for saying this, because everyone is like OH HEATH AND JAKE ARE SO BRAVE to step out of the box and do a gay movie, but I'm going to say it anyway.
I don't like how they're constantly telling people how uncomfortable it was to play gay people and how awkward the 'sex scenes' were. I find it unprofessional, not charming or cute in the slightest, and actually somewhat of a statement on their abilities as actors.
I watch the L Word and Queer as Folk, though, so maybe I'm just spoiled. The actors on both of those shows are actually mostly straight, and they seem to have no problem with the sex scenes. I've read interviews where the scene is described as acting--choreographed acting, nothing more than that. It's about the character and the story to them, and let me tell you, those guys/girls do a lot more touching than Jake and Heath ever did. Because they're in-character and acting, those types of scenes don't bother them.
Both of the Brokeback actors knew exactly what they were signing up for, and I just don't like it. In comparison to the straight actors playing intimate gay character on other shows, they seem very childish and their constant discussion of how uncomfortable the whole thing was is over the top and ridiculous.
Cheers.
