New Character... Grendamoon [May. 19th, 2009|10:37 am]

Well, I started Grendamoon the other day. He's my new Tauren Druid. At the moment, I decided to go Feral with him, even though I was originally contemplating Balance. Feral won out though... I like the Animal forms.

Although I toyed with a Druid before... now I'm going to do some serious work on this one. I got him Alchemy & Herbalism for his professions (again, something I never really tried seriously), and hes 14th now. I'm hoping for 20 by the end of the day, but it's "Blue Tuesday", so you never can predict there.

Got my first peek at Ulduar tonight (10-man regular) [Apr. 19th, 2009|12:09 am]

The first boss (and the clearing of trash leading up to him) is crazy fun!  You spend the entire fight in vehicles.  I was a gunner in a siege engine.  While another player drove, I shot things down out of the sky and fired cannons at things on the ground.  I was also in charge of the protective shield on our vehicle.  I was one of the three left alive when we got the first boss down on our second try.  Then we wiped twice on Razorscale and on the robot boss with the toys before calling it a night.  (We started with Naxx last night, then finished Naxx and went on to Ulduar tonight.)

I am very much looking forward to learning Ulduar and getting more bosses down.

Miscellaneous pictures from this week [Apr. 6th, 2009|11:31 pm]

Jemah enjoys her flying carpet.  She has the materials for her epic carpet, but can't afford the skill to ride it yet.  Jemah dinged 80 this morning-- my 4th 80!

Thaddius is really rude.  Here you see him stomping repeatedly on poor Adrianelle's corpse.  This is what happens if you are a fraction of a second too late on the polarity shift.

Like I had mentioned in my entry yesterday (you can view it here on my LJ, and here on wowgeeks), I was having issues with a player that I had recruited.

I felt, after careful thought, that I had no choice... I kicked her out of the guild. I hated to do it, since this is a person who has supposedly been playing less than a month, but she dug her own grave so to speak. She did this to herself, I just did the official business aspect of it all.

Well, it's done and over with.

Guild Member Problems [Apr. 2nd, 2009|08:34 am]

[mood | distressed]
[music |WROR-FM: Lauren & Wally Show]

Last night I was on WoW (what a surprise there), and I had an issue that I wasn't quite sure how to handle.

I recruited this player, or should I perhaps say I was almost begged, to join the guild I belong to with my Horde characters on the Trollbane Realm. This player has been playing less than a month, and is proving to be really needy. She constantly begs for help with quests, and what's worse... these are in the starting area. These are the easy quests, designed to help teach you about your character. Now, I remember what it was like when I first started playing WoW, but of course I am a long time gamer... so it was a small learning curve.

This person is becoming like a spoiled child. Last night while I was on, she came on (her character name is Jaylen). After the problems that had happened the other night, which could be mostly attributed to newbie issues, I started to speak with her. I tried to get some basic information about who it was that has joined us. She is proving to be evasive, and somewhat disruptive. So, after we had spoken a bit through chat, most of my questions remained unanswered. When she was asked questions, I would have to ask 3-4 times, just to get a response of "wut". If I get that "wut" response one more time, I'm going to scream.

Anyway, she started her pattern again, she started by inviting people in the guild to party with her, it was refused by members, all who were on asked who she was in open guild chat... she gave no answer. She then tried to get me to party with her. I started going over proper game etiquette with her. While I was talking to her, one of the other players in the guild had asked if I had guild bank access. I told him yes, he then asked if he could have an item in the guild bank... I told him sure, it'll just be a few minutes so that I can get to him.

I got a message back that I was on this players ignore list... and then he quit the guild.

I feel that this may have been because of this new recruit, and her constantly going down the list trying to invite people to party with her. I told her again, that this was not acceptable behavior... and very bad form. She said that she didn't do it, then I confronted her with the chain of events, telling her how displeased I was with her behavior. I informed her that I had sent her an in-game mail message, asked her to make sure she read it first. It contained some basic ground rules about guild etiquette, basic rules of the guild, etc. I told her to make sure that she read this message (which is in 3 parts), and then we will go from there.

I tried to contact the now former guild member and I kept getting the "ignoring you" message. I wanted to try to get the player to come back. Jaylen had logged off, but this was to no avail... the former member was still ignoring me.

Well, I was online now alone (for the guild that is) for a bit, conversing with a couple of people I had partied with before, and who I had been in another guild with (we had all left that guild at the about the same time). and my friend Johnny Caplette came online with his Tauren Shaman named Prona. Since nobody was online for the guild, an he started with a hearty "HELLO JO JO", I spoke with him for a while. I told him I could go out to meet him, show him my character... and even invite him to join the guild, since the GM has now opened the guild to all game races, and not just to Blood Elves.

So, although his character  is 27th, he had a quest to go into the Wailing Caverns instance. I had never actually gone in there, so I told him if he wanted the company, I'd go in with him. So we partied up and we went in. We go lost a couple of times, but eventually found our way around the place. We completed the instance, and he had now joined the guild. He's found that he really likes Taurens, better than any of the Alliance races (although he does still enjoy playing Draenei a bit), and is liking Shaman a lot, even better than the Priest class.

Well, after we had run around for a bit, I had a late night phone call from a friend on the West Coast, and that I was gonna head offline. So, I told Johnny welcome to the guild (his first), and enjoy.

I spoke on the phone for a bit, and then got ready for bed. Cece had fallen asleep on the couch, and she was sleeping peacefully... so I decided to let her sleep there.

I have to decide what to do with Jaylen. I may have to kick her out of the guild, but I am going to give it one last try. If she still refuses to play nice, then I will kick her out of the guild. I hope that it doesn't come to this, but it just might.

I had a blast in a 25 man outside of guild this week, because a friend was tired of seein gold loose rolls on gear etc. We had one of our dps warriors in there to boot that seemed proud to see me finnaly get some tank acknowledgments. I was praised by a lot of the raid, wich really helped since ive had so much BS lately going "you suck you cant tank" etc blah >.< this proved to ME personaly there just being rude.

[mood | very, very proud]

My paladin tank who dinged 80 yesterday just tanked her first heroic!  It was Heroic Violet Hold (today's daily) and it went great!  The bird boss(es) killed a couple of us, including the tank, but those were the only deaths in the run.  We got the "Defenseless" achievement for having the seal still at 100%, too.  A member of my guild has been extremely generous, giving me mats for my new gear and putting enchants on it.  He even just plain GAVE me the helm (coolest one in the game!), all gemmed up and everything!  As soon as I farm up five more eternal fires, I can get the tank ring and neck pieces made and I should be defense-capped.

Here's my Be Imba: http://be.imba.hu/?zone=US&realm=Perenolde&character=Perlita

I'm so proud of Perlita the prot paladin and her pet parrot Polly!

My Blood Elf Fancy... [Feb. 14th, 2009|10:23 pm]

[mood | annoyed]
[music |None, it's quiet in here]

Well, I hit 40th level today with Grendarrias, my Blood Elf Paladin this afternoon. I must say I've been cranking right along. Although I am still toying around with my first Death Knight as well, a Blood Elf Paladin is proving to be a lot of fun to play with. I have him in Plate Armor now (except for the legs, which is still Mail), and I really think Protection Paladin was the way to go for me. I rarely have to worry when he gets into an overwhelming situation, I've been able to come out of it pretty regularly. I've gotten really comfortable with the abilities now, and have been able to pace myself, even in times of overwhelming and crisis.

Too bad real like doesn't work the same as a game, eh?

Well, I play around with him some more tomorrow. My Orc Hunter is still at level 78 and holding. I like him and all, but I think Paladin and Rogue are my favorite classes in WoW. They let me play the aggressive game that I am good at, and let me through caution to the wind. There are still other classes I want to toy around with, but (and I never thought I would hear myself say this) I want to create other Blood Elf characters. I've got a real handle on their racial ability, and I am real comfortable with them now. Even more so than Orc, which I have played longer.

Okay, so I admit it. I'm a Blood Elf convert... so sue me.

At least it lets me escape this crappy day... I hate Valentine's Day.
