Wow_Ladies: Girl Gamers of World of Warcraft

Sorry for posting again in such a short span of time!

But I had to squee just a little bit. The T4 Helm dropped for my druid last night, and I ended up winning. It was another case of a guildie passing to me because I hadn't gotten any drops that evening as of yet. (I had to roll against my boyfriend as well....) But I got my Stag-Helm of Malorne. So I'm rocking the 2 T4 bonus. Yay! (No Stranglestaff tho.... :( )

And I finally had enough badges to purchase Tameless Breeches.

I looked myself up on BeImba and WoW-Heroes and according to them I'm good enough to tank Mag and Gruul's. (Never been to either yet and I know the websites aren't the most accurate, but it did give me a flutter of good feeling). Now I just need to finish gemming and getting enchanted up. (Armory is here if anyone has any gem/enchant/gear suggestions)

I just need to go run my little heart out for Cenarion rep and I can get Earthwarden, farm all the primals to make the boots and belt I want, and I'll be good to go. I'm enjoying tanking so much!

....or rather, play on a PvP server.

I guess what has me feeling so good tonight is that I managed to help out some people on our server AND fight decently on world PvP. I got two killshots off of the Hunter, which feels even better after I learned that he was a 70 (Avona is 38 and not even remotely PvP-geared). Yeah I died a few times, but I had fun. It felt good to be able to respond to a call for help and be able to run defense for someone(s) while they quested.

Yeah I didn't get the EXP I was trying for tonight, but I helped some other guys get theirs, so I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.


Oh, and apologies if any of you ladies (and lurking gents) were the ones included in this little story. I didn't want to mention names, for fear of embarrassing someone...but I do apologize if you were an Alliance in the Arathi Highlands tonight on Azshara! I had good intentions for going after you guys, I swear!
Also apologies if this isn't exactly a useful post. It's late here and this JUST happened, so I wanted to make a note of it and figured I'd share it with some people who might have had similar things happen. To make it useful:

Has anyone had this happen? Either you were the ones calling for help and someone came to your rescue, or you were the ones running to the rescue for someone?

I have a funny thing with random gifting in wow, this time it was epic.




 

We're a tier 6 guild who's short healers, and have been short healers near raid start time for awhile. They usually come on later after getting home from work and such. Tonight someone mentioned doing Mag while waiting to see if the raid was getting called or not and we managed to get them to go to Gruul first (WTB Dragonspine Trophy). So off we went with all mains - 5 healers, 18 DPS and 2 tanks.

Gruul died in 5 growths. :P No DST. :(

Mag died in 6 minutes. All 5 channelers were dead before he released and we didn't realize that killing the last one would release him! Whoops, lost 2 or 3 DPS to that (Yay brez). XD

Finally got my main her Champion of the Naruu title to go with Hand of Ad'al.

Seriously, the most fun I've had in a raid in a long long time! Tons of chatter in Vent and people just doing their jobs and kicking butt. Our MT accidentally had on DPS gear for Mag even. XD

After only a couple weeks of wiping, Kael is dead!

Four days ago, after over a month and a half without raiding, Oblivons Caress of Ravenholdt EU two shotted A'lar on their first night.

But tonight, an even great victory has been won!

We tried her before the summer but failed, the officers were ready to quit! But we decided that once again we should try!

Tonight, The Sea Witch fell to Oblivions Caress!

My Paladin has been jumping between specs for the past few weeks. Tanking for heroics and normals, healing in Kara. I heal in Kara because my friends want Kara runs to be fast and easy so they get the best tanks they can. Fair enough, I get all the tanking drops so eventually I'll be able to tank for them easy enough ^^

I've managed to get her defence capped entirely through gear and under my boyfriends advice I've gemmed for stamina. I'm not uncrushable atm though, but that's not a problem until I tank raid bosses right? One thing I was wondering about is that I get so many different people telling me so many different things... The thing I'm moust curious about now is the tanking gauntlets from maiden (so sorry I can't like them, can't do stuff like that at work), with the +4 block as the gem set bonus. I know blocking is important for paladins, but is +4 block important enough for me than my two +12 stam gems?

I'm working on my gear enchants as well. I was thinking of block rating (not value) on my shield to help my mitigation and be that little bit closer to uncrushable. Is that a good idea?

I can't link my armory as I'm at work, but if any of you lovely ladies have the time, my character is Alixiel on Ravenholdt EU. I'd like any input about gems, gear and enchants.

I haven't bothered enchanting blue items, and I'm waiting for an enchater with stam on boots to log on so they can do that for me.

Anyway, the real point of this post was to say how happy I am!

I decided that I wanted to have a challenge last night tank wise, so I PuGed MGT normal (it's a challenge for me at least). We only had 3 wipes! I was so happy!

One that was my fault as I pulled a pack and a patrol at the same time, second was during the third boss when the last add standing feared me and pulled another pack (luckily the add died before we wiped) and final one on Kael.

I've done the isntance as a warlock and just destrotyed it (have T5 geared people in that place on normal is easy mode!), but I was really pleased to have it go so smoothly on my alt!

After two months of no raiding due to summer Oblivions Caress finally got a 25 man raid together.

(The Solarion kill was awesome as we'd only killed her once before)

It was nice to be raiding again, 6 of our DPS consistantly stayed about 1000DPS, alot better than before the break.

Okay so it's not the BESTest and number one .. but seeing my name as #2 highest damage horde-side and #3 overall.. IS SQUEE WORTHY. <3 I'm used to just being bored on defense and being pretty low on the chart since most of the time where I'm at doesn't get constantly zerged (and I normally don't survive those). But tonight was pretty good.. first time I've been in a battleground since lvl 63.

And destroying a lvl 69 gnome warlock with Silencing Shot, Steady Shot, and an arcane shot that does about 1k dmg everytime.. oh I just loved that. 8D

Only four deaths with my crap gear (no instance gear) is not half bad to me.

so 2 days ago, i posted this http://community.livejournal.com/wow_ladies/5885131.html, basicaly a QQ about pugs and feeling inadequate as a hunter.  

I hope you don't mind the gushing, just wanted to share about how great my guild is :)  we might not be the most progressed guild on a server, but the guild chat is fun, people are helpful, there's no pressure or recreminations when things go wrong and/or mistakes happen (usualy since everyone has their bad days, but getting pissy about wipes on guild runs is an exception rather then the rule), and being part of it - rocks!

MY NEW COMPUTER ARRIVED!

I'm so happy! I've been playing WoW on a horribly old PC that took 10 minutes to power up and was constantly crashing me out of WoW at really important moments (like big pulls when I'm the healer and such). It took about 4 hours in total to get it set up, internet working and everything I want installed onto it. Luckily I'd been told that I could directly copy the WoW folders from PC to PC and not need to reinstall, so that literally saved me about 6 hours ^_^

So playing WoW last night on it, 50fps in Shatt compared to the 5fps I was getting before. 60fps while running around the world and doing stuffs when I used to have 20-30fps. 60fps in instances when I used to have 10-20fps.

Now I just have to try out a 25 man raid!

I honestly can't believe how awesome WoW runs now, I'm desperate to try out a raid and have higher than 2fps!

I also thought that maybe I have a PC powerful enough to run a program to record me playing WoW. Can anyone recomend me a free program for doing this? I tried out the free FRAPS but it seemed to stop recording randomly, but that might have been my rubbishy old PC.

I started playing in December and this was my first little girl. After 23 days /played she made 70.

Haha got ya. It's just me cussing. No I kid, partly. We killed a person for a quest and apparently it gave me enough exp to ding and I wasn't expecting it so I missed the glowy shot. Me cussing up a storm at missing it is my stand in lol.

I know, it doesn't mean as much as it used to with attunements are lifted, but I finally got my Champion of the Naaru title last night! I HAVE THE HAPPY!

I would've had it a couple of weeks ago, but I got cheated: my power failed as we were starting the first trash pull in Mag's Lair and it didn't come back on until sometime during the night. To my power company I say, BAH!

Oh man I needed last night.

Rundown:
I've just moved into a new apartment and sold my router/modem to my old roomate for cash. "I'll just buy new ones.", I think. Good idea, except for the tiny fact that those BGs and levelling I've been doing in the evening? NO INTERNET. Combine that with work being busier than usual and I'm not the happiest camper.
Thankfully I have wonderful friends and thanks to some locals, I've been working on Rhellynn and relaxing a bit. Learning how to play a Mage is a good handful for me, but last night? Last night took the cake. Work was busy, people trying to tell me how to do my job, our shipping computer went down 15 minutes before I had to close out and I was full of ARGH and RAGE. I didn't want to play my Mage, I wanted my Shaman. (No offense Mages, but I haven't quite learned the difference between blowing-shit-up-OUT-of-melee and blowing-shit-up-WHILE-in-melee).


So I call my BG buddy (Feryene), go over to his house, take care of some AHing on Rhell and jump onto Dmitri. Then he asks me, "We running AB or WSG tonight?"

( ...whut. )

So even though we lost one out of the three WSGs we ran last night, I had an absolute blast blowing off steam. I'm also okay with WSG now and not living in terror from it like I used to. Gotta run it a bit more though, to catch up to the 45 AB marks I've gotten already, XD We got bonus Honor last night though!

Also apologies to anyone I may or may not have squished last night, X3 Dunno if anyone here runs the 39~ bracket for Shadowburn, but just covering my bases!

At last, after 38 levels, my priest has replaced her Robes of Arugal with something a little bit better.

I am pleased.

Sooo many people commented on my freaking robes. When I told my group what I would be replacing, they were like "Damn dude, hold onto those for a while?" I got them at level 23, I think.. and I am now level 61 >>

But hey, they lasted me a pretty long time without having found anything better :x And I could heal ok with them too, so.. y'know. I'm just glad I look a little different for once, at least.

[edit x2] Er, wow. Didn't expect so much negativity..

things are looking up so much for me in a game - its amazing.  I guess I was impatient before but recently - I've been getting into a lot more groups and generaly doing a lot better.  and today, while doing the quel danas dailies - I saw a guildie trying to put together a temple of Ahn Quiraj raid.  so I got myself invited in :)  unfortunately - our server is a bit.... lacking in serious players on horde side (and by serious i mean someone who's not going to go AFK all the time in a middle of a  raid and will actualy attempt to attack the bosses, follow the kill ordr, etc)   so after wiping repetedly on the very first boss, one of our tanks had enough and left raid, offering to go for ruins instead to those who actualy wanted to play (what is the point of joining a raid if you will not play is beyond me. anyways)

I got invited immediately as soon as I left original raid (yay) we repaired a bit and off we went.  now originaly, I was # 6 on damage meters and we had a full raid but after concidering that a lot of people weren't actualy pitching in, I wasn't as exited.  but after we bretty much blew trhough the ruins, clearing every boss and all the trash like they were nothing with everyone working like a single unit (great leadership by our main tank who turned out to be from the top horde raiding guild on our server) - I was number 4, beat out only by an arms/fury warrior, a warlock and a hunter in partial riftstalker + badge gear.  I'm not sure what exactly it means yet but my raiting on the meters was 633 - but I think its pretty good for someone, who is still wearing some greens "grin"  in a 20 man raid with some fairly heavy hitters. 

but the best part - I got to see content that i thought I'd never have a chance to.  first hand :)  and I think I'm building a reputation on my server as a reliable hunter for myself which means - better groups for a lot more content (for when my guildies cannot run something).

I think its at least a little bit due to that guild name under my handle so I'm thinking of something nice I could do for the guild  - I would appreciate suggestions :)

on another note - I decided finaly, after much deliberation (and going back and forth between my alts) that my next lvl 70 is going to be my troll shammy.  I'm going to level her as elemental and then respec to healing, so I would appreciate any and all advice on gear, spec, general shammy healing, online guides etc.  She's leatherworker/skinner profession wise.  I'm also going to ask our guild's leading shammy healer, but I like to get a lot of opinions and as much information as possible.

P.S.  one of these days I'll actualy stop getting sucked in into all these impromtu runs and give some love to my other toons, especialy my little draenei girl, but this is just so exciting, being able to see and do all this stuff  :)  I'm addicted, lol

Finished up the Hero of the Mag'har quest and had like 2000 more rep to go, so I went and killed more Ogres. (I swear a lot of Ogres met their death from my claws).

So I couldn't help myself and was dying to try out healing. I respecced holy but wasn't too concerned 'cause I thought I was going to run through Ramps with a couple guildies (they're all 70, I'm still 60). Well, they canceled ( D: ) so I just put myself in LFG.

Everyone was pugged, but it went pretty not-bad. We had a feral druid tank, so he could do that thing where he heals himself sometimes, as well as a shockadin who occasionally picked up healing if multiple people were taking lots of damage ( ... we had some pretty bad pulls of two groups at once). The mage died a couple times, which I felt bad about, but at least he was the only one and there were no wipes?

The paladin said I did a pretty good job for my first time. I think my main problem is multitasking... I would get so paranoid about the tank losing health that I would just glue my eyes to his healthbar and not pay much attention to anyone else x.x Didn't work out so well for that mage...

But it was pretty exciting! I know I need tons more practice (and maybe some handy addons o_O) but I'm glad it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be xD

Also I'm already freaking out over how much +healing/int/spirit I should have, even as a level 60 :P And I want to go to Kara so badly now! >> Or at least get out of work soon so I can work on another level or two.
