Alchemist's Stone question
Does anyone know if it's possible to hold 2 different stones?
I'm not wanting to equip both together - only the dmg one with the healing one in the bank for when I end up having to respec & heal.
Happy Monday morning ladies. ::winces at the chorus of moans::
I have some issues about being a Master of Transmutation I want to discuss.
I hit 362 in my alchemy and I'm picking up the odd points here and there doing transmutes for tips. Though by all reports the proc rate sucks, I want to choose to be a master of transmutation (another guildmate is Potions) and am nearly done farming the primals needed for the mights to do that. Anyway, last week someone was on trade asking for a primal might xmute. I offered to do it and he asked if I was a master. When I said not yet he said "Nevermind then. I want the chance at extras. Sorry." So this took me aback a little having read a discussion (on the WoW forums I believe) a month or two ago about this. I responded and told him it was no problem, but that he might find it difficult to find someone willing to give away extras if the mastery proced and that I certainly wouldn't. His response was "Really? I've gotten the extra procs before." Well I mean, unless it was a friend or a guildie or something who would do that?? I'm getting the impression that a lot of people do.
Over the weekend someone else was asking for a might xmute. When I said I'd do it she said she tips 5g for one might, and a large prismatic shard for two. Well ok, I mean this is something right? But still ... the shards go for about 20g on my server, and primal mights about 85g. And what if it had procced more than one extra? Did I get to keep the 3rd, 4th or 5th? I didn't ask since without the mastery I knew she wasn't getting any extra, forget more than one. So now I see people in trade with "wtt primal might for the mats required to make one," meaning you the customer aren't getting a xmute, per se, you're getting a might for 5 primals and the alchemist is going to, at his her leisure, do the xmute for their own benefit. This kinda solves the problem doesn't it? If nobody knows whether there was a proc or not, then nobody quibble about it, right? But these people are being shunned on my server (Thrall). Nobody wants to do the straight up trade. They want a transmutation master to do the deed with their primals thinking they'll get the extra and they're willing to wait until a master answers their call rather than do the simple mat trade. a) I'm not dropping about 350g in mights to pick up xmute master for everyone else's benefit, and b) it sucks if it means that I'll have to forego any transmutation tips or that I'll have to skillfully negotiate my terms in advance before I endeavor to press the button. :/ So what's the deal?? If any of you ladies is a transmute master, are you giving it away? And if you're not, are you expecting the procs? How does it work on your servers? This sucks!
Getting Zaa to 70 was my main goal when BC came out, and never once messed with her professions, which were tailoring and alchemy. They were both 300, I was thrilled to have maxed out both. But I haven't done anything with them at all, and mostly noticed that
a. I am dependent on my other characters to get my herbs, and since none of them were above lvl 60, I had no access to the high lvl herbs to raise my alchemy.
b. Tailoring is an extremely expensive profession to lvl, and just doesn't make money for me at all.
c. I found myself only using my professions to help out my lower lvl alts.
I have decided to focus on Zaa primarily now, shooting for all heroic keys and ----ta da---her epic flying mount! Yes, I am a member of Altaholics Anonymous, and am guilty of having SEVERAL other characters, the highest of which is 62, the lowest a lvl 19 priest. I used Zaa mainly as my gold maker, to fund my lower lvls. Well, no more! Just yesterday I made 400 gold by determined questing (did all the group quests in BE Mountains yay they are DONE) and broke 1k gold and I thought--hey, I could make more gold if I had better professions! Soooooo I did it. I actually dropped tailoring and took up herbalism. Didn't have much time to play today, with all ( I have 8 children) my kids home from school now wanting to be on the computer too, but in 20 minutes playtime I got my herbalism up to 86! I can just see the gold pouring in ladies! *rubbing hands together gleefully while cackling and counting my money*
So now my big question is (well actually I have 2 big questions) the FIRST big question is: Which specialization should I take in my alchemy which will be the easiest/best way to make money? and my OTHER big question is: How do you guys make posts that have a link in it that expands your entry? I always feel like my entry is so long, but I don't know how to do that thing you all do.
Oh, and yay for Jordin Sparks!!!! Everybody in my house was glued to the tv last night, watching American Idol, and we so hoped Blake would not win, he just didn't have the talent that Jordin did, you should have heard the screams when her name was announced! Raised the roof I tell you!
See you all ingame!
my professions are herbalism and alchemy. i'm a 48 human mage and have had them both at 300 for quite a while too... but i cant do anything cool. its not fun, and while i'm not looking for something as fun as engineering i would like something that would generate some cash... though i guess i really dont need the money right now at all... and money isnt an issue and i've been thinking about picking up enchanting... but i wouldnt know what other profession to get. i like herbalism because it does generate money, but not a lot of cash... well not until i can get the other plants i guess... ugh i just dont know.
it pains me to do this... my last two professions were tailoring and i dont remember what else i used to do LOL... but i had them both halfway up when i switched to herbalism/alch, i thought it would be fun to make potions but more often than not i just end up buying them on ah as i'm far too impatient to collect the plants myself and all i can really do is arc trans which the alchemists get shafted on anyway (money-wise).
what are your thoughts? i'm sure a human mage just doesnt become certain things (like a leather worker LOL) but i would like something that would generate cash and dropped tailoring when i realized that runecloth bags are worthless because they're so damn expensive and most people would rather just buy a traveler's backpack for 10g less on my server than spend the 20g on a runecloth one that is made by tailors.
any suggestions?
i realize as soon as i have enough for my epic it wont matter how much money i make and i'm more than halfway to my epic now... most of which i would blow leveling up my enchanting (from what i've heard) but i would love to de things... anyway, opinions are welcome, thanks!
