The hunt is on
Alright, well it's been about 3 years now...maybe 4 and the time has come for me to get myself a new computer. I have a few stipulations when it comes to the new comp and as always it seems like finding a comp to fit my specifications is being near impossible to find. So, I turn to you ladies. :) I am hoping maybe some of you know a bit about computers, I am sure many of you know more than me anyway. LOL I've got my eye on two computers. Both are gateway, but I am not really sure if they will do what I want. I need a laptop because I am a college student and the mobility of laptops is just a must. I want the laptop to handle school related things (Not a whole lot of stuff) and be able to perform WoW at a decent rate. The comp I have now rarely ever hits 20 FPS and I am usually at 1-8fps when in a city (let's not talk about Shat). I'd also not like to spend $1000. I'd like to spend as little as possible really. I am on a tight budget. I'll post a link to the two comps I am looking at but if anyone has anything to show me, PLEASE link it. :) I am looking at anything right now that will hopefully fit these criterias.

I'm not sure if you can get what you want for significantly less than $1000 if you're talking about laptops. I know you can get a decent machine for around $1000 though. (Just recently purchased a laptop that runs wow just fine that cost about that.) The thing you want to make absolutely sure of in laptops (if you want it for playing games) is that their graphic card has at least some dedicated memory (otherwise, it's sharing memory with your processor, which is yuck). Most laptops you'll find do not have this feature, especially the cheaper ones. It drives me nuts.

I believe this is the laptop I purchased.

I would personally go with the first one. Faster processor, more RAM (4gig as opposed to 2gig, but on the 2nd one you can upgrade to 4gig), and more dedicated video memory (512mb as opposed to 256mb).

The first one pretty has more everything than the 2nd one, and for a better price. With specs like that you should easily get more than the 20fps you're used to.

Ditto on this. The first one is better overall.(and it's cheaper.;) )
