Anyone know of any WoW realated blogs written by women?

Earlier tonight I was joking around with a friend and playing with photoshop and said I would so make a website called Pretty In Purps as a wow blog. I even made a subdomain on my current website and uploaded a little coming soon poster.
10 minutes later I am surprised with: http://www.prettyinpurps.com/ with my little poster on it :D

So what started as a joke became my friend buying me a domain because he loved the idea. It's WoW downtime night and I'm super bored (Australian so the maintenance is like 6:30PM onwards here). At first I thought it would be funny to be about constantly trying to find the best looking outfits you can get for your character in WoW, from roleplaying costumes to high end epics and discuss whats 'in' this (arena)season. Obviously, that limits the content a little bit so I was wondering what else I could throw in so that it's not just another WoW blog. Anyone interested in blogging for Pretty in Purps?

Any suggestions/tips/links are much appreciated :D

Hmmm, is it going to be like LJ? Where people can post things and talk about their WoW days and post screenshots etc etc?

Not really, I was thinking more along the lines of something like WoWinsider.com

Anyone can comment on the articles there but only certain people can make the initial posts.

Hope to see some awesome content!

Perhaps have people and yourself put in tips for women playing WoW, like... uh.. how to deal with the 13-year old boys that love chat speak and following female avatars around.XD

I write a WoW blog, it's nothing special, it mostly follows what's going on in my guild or what I've got to get done for myself. http://www.wowsauce.wordpress.com - Good luck & when you get up and running I'll def. link to you!

I'd love to be your blogging buddy on there! I've been toying with the idea for a while.

Perhaps we can have a weekly fashion contest? I'm thinking one like the cosmo "good/bad" shots of people with their faces covered would be hilarious.

That's wicked cool! I actually started a little wow blog out of boredom myself; I find that when there's nobody around to talk to about WoW, I can blog about it, haha. I like the design you've got going there until it's up, too. ;)

You could also do fashion reviews on armor sets (even the green matching ones!) or set out to find strangers in really cool looking outfits. Anything with a fresh, fun perspective (we girls are great at this) would make it a great blog, I think. Plus, if you have multiple people posting, you have the benefit of variety right there. I think that WoWinsider's variety of content and writers is what makes it such a fun blog to read!

I would actually be interested in joining you in this feat. I'm a sucker both for blogging and any kind of site design projects. Let me know!

Also, your icon totally pwns mine. :O

This is exactly what I was thinking! Run it like a fashion magazine kind of thing :D

I love designing the sites and coming up with ideas but I'm not the worlds greatest blogger when it comes to content so I really think I would like an extra couple ladies on board for the articles.

Also, icon love!

Epic Dolls is the biggest one I know of, but it's a podcast, not a blog. There's also http://www.womenofwow.net/, and http://www.killerbetties.com/, which is a women-in-gaming blog that sometimes has Warcraft articles. There are others out there, mainly single-author blogs that happen to be written by women.

I wouldn't be interested in a blog that focused on in-game fashion, personally. On the other hand, I don't like indepth analyses of individual pieces of gear, either-- too many stats and my eyes glaze over. I play to have fun, not to dissect the mechanics underneath the pictures. :) I tend to like a mix of themes; one post could be OMG PRETTY DRESS!, the next could be theorycrafting, and the third could be a thoughtful post on the poster's experience creating two toons on the same server, identical in everything except for gender, and if there were any differences in the way the toons were treated. Thoughts on being the only outed woman in a guild, handling inappropriate behaviour from other players, or even suggestions on how to manage raiding with a child (or cat) in your lap could also be useful.

I think a group blog written exclusively by women would be interesting, but only if it didn't descend into a stereotypical pink-ponies-and-rainbows squeefest, or a place focused on bashing men. Unfortunately, I've been on multiple women-only websites or mailing lists that started out as thoughtful discourse and turned into "Men suck, check out my new Manolos!"

Not to diss your original idea; I think fashion discussions can be fun and I can certainly see the attraction behind a gallery of screenshots of various outfits and pieces-- if nothing else, it would certainly help me to choose between upgrades if I knew that one looked like cargo pants and one looked like thong panties. :)

On a side note, my human mage (whom I think is rather cute), is currently wearing a purple robe. I can send you a screenshot if you want to use it. :)

Thanks for the links :D

My main concern was that only posting about WoW fashion would get very boring. I don't think I'm alone when I say that I have sacrificed minor stat increases to take a peice of gear that looks awesome though.

I'll set up an email address soon and make a post here calling for all screenshots as soon as I get this wordpress theme working the way I want it to.

I started to write a WoW blog 2 months ago, but it is in portuguese =P (I'm a Brazilian girl)

http://www.wowgirl.com.br

But it is not like mmochampion, it follows what's going on in my guild. Talking about new kills and that's it.

The coolest thing is that sometimes people whispers me while I'm playing, saying that they read my blog, that's very very cute.

Good luck and if you need more people for your 'staff' just let me know!!!!! I loved your idea!!!!!

I've been looking for a WoW group blog written by females for a while now but haven't found any. The closest I have is Girls Don't Game, but it's about gaming in general and doesn't really have anything about WoW specifically in it. Still a good read though.

I would love to join in blogging - Alas, I'm definitely all about the start-game? for WoW - haven't gotten to level 50 yet and I've been playing for a few years :p It's a complicated story but definitely err, probably an interesting blog article if you want me to share my fanaticism over Westfall questing/the beauty of Mulgore/Horses vs. Elekks and other silly things.

I have a WoW blog, but it's pretty much filled with very short 'what I did today's, WWS screenshots and the like, and therefore of no interest to anyone and locked to myself. :P

I'd love to be one of the readers though!

Also, hello, fellow bored-on-Tuesday-nights person. \o/
