I tried Ahune (normal) last night on my warlock. And, hey, the scythe dropped, and we got him down all 5 times, woot! Except everything that dropped, no one needed. We were all SSC-BT geared. I got the scythe only to look perdy when compared to my gladiator staff.

Now, the funny thing is that I went tonight on my hunter (S1 - Kara equiv) To try and replace my Consortium Cloak of the Quick because I could use the cloak upgrade.

Had a affliction lock, resto shammy, rogue, me as a BM/trap hunter, and a prot pally. I thought we would pwn. Prot pally turns out to be in all blues and greens whereas we're all in T4-T5 (or S1=S2 epics). Her tanking sucked, and she kept remarking in party about how she had no idea why we were doing so bad and how the fight was really hard. Admittedly, it was a challenge. We all tried putting out pointers for her to consecrate, stay away from healer so there's a chance to steal aggro away from healer, etc. Did she listen? Nope. All FIVE times, we wiped...

That really ticked me off. I need the upgrade (even if it didn't drop, the tabard would be a nice second place item) and this excuse of a prot pally wouldn't listen nor had the skill to tank. Admittedly, she should have been kicked. But on our server, finding a tank horde side is like trying to score a perfect 2400 on the SATs. It just doesn't happen.

I learned my lesson. Going back tomorrow - and I will get that cloak! But at least I was able to get the adamantite node in the instance. That made me feel better.

My friend and I just recently began playing on Moon Guard. We mostly tard around and chat with each other in character, since we did that anyway on our PVE server but now its appropriate.

We just silly RP with each other, but I want to make a character to occasionally play with thats a little more serious.

Herein lies in my question, how much of other races lore is it appropriate to know? I plan on being a Troll, I know their lore pretty well (they are my favorite!). I figured I should brush up on the orc lore since we share a city with them. But what about everyone else? I mean I doubt a troll really cares about anything else that doesn't concern them.

Also, where does WoW fit in timeline wise? I've never been able to figure that out. My troll is gonna be an older guy so I need to figure out what he might have seen.

So. A little backstory here. Here is my armory link. Now then. For a while I was a member on one of the higher raiding guild hordeside on our server. I ran into financial difficulties, and lost my account for a month. Because I was still on trial with them, they booted me for inactivity. Now, that stings a little bit, but not all that month because during that month they progressed from hitting SSC and TK main bosses to downing bosses in Hyjal and BT. As you can see, I am not prepared for that.

I get my account activated a few days after they give me das Boot. I'm a little miffed, but not terribly, and so I start looking for a new guild. Enter Kinsmen. Now, Kinsmen is low on the progression chart, really taking two days to down Kara and making brief attempts at forays into ZA. But you know what? I figure, that's a pretty awesome place for me to be, progression wise, and they're really awesome people.

However

So I've been having tons of fun playing my belf lock, only one problem...

She's all alone on Anvilmar! I want to raid with her once she hits 70(almost 40 currently). So if any of you are looking for a lock or don't mind another addition to your guild, lemme know! She's destro and any kind of guild works.. casual, raiding or leveling s'long as it's fun and friendly! I'm not a beggar and I don't ask for runs unless people want to make a group.

She's my first horde toon and I can't wait to someday raid with bovines and trolls.. it'd be so cool! Troll guys are sexah :D

*I'd consider going over to Madoran too, that's where my 70 main is and while she's ally I could still have my hubby make a banker horde toon that I could use to help support my lock. It's getting so expensive for skills and trying to level my professions. :O

I've recently re-rolled my poor Hordelettes on another server and I have decided that, since my Nelf hunter has the ghost kitty, I want a different type of pet for my Belf hunter.

I have gotten it into my head to try for the white wolves in Dun Morogh--I'm not necessarily looking for Timber, since I don't know if I can solo him and the adds, but any of the arctic-skinned wolves would do and I am an impatiend Kal/Sin-dorei and I don't feel like waiting for level 20-ish and the Ashenvale wolf.

However, I'm at a complete loss as to how to get a level 10 belf hunter from Belflands to Dun Morogh. Obviously, UC is the first stop, but do I have to swim from South Shore to Wetlands? O.o

I have always wanted to get someone to draw Ithaca, and when someone here on WoW Ladies posted that they liked Bumblescutt's art, I had her do up Ithaca in her tier 6 with the hood down.

I myself am a closet gent from South Africa. Playing on the EU-Bronzebeard Server Horde side.
You may recognise me, as I used to belong to the community a long while ago, but took an extended break due to work.
My 3 lvl 70's are: Drblaster (Raiding Holy Priest/Priest Class Leader/Healing Assignments), Elementala (AoE Frost mage) and Homicidal (Subt Rogue).
I belong to an awesome, but crazy guild called Shear Hordasity, my gf is also in my guild, but her levelling is a tad slower than mine ;).
(I am just glad she plays). We have Kara, Gruul and Maggie pretty much on farm, done most of ZA, Starting SSC, BT and TK now...

So I come for a greeting, a little advice and a few pointers. Greeting done, now onto the pointers and advice...

My pointer is so: Throw away your healing meters... Specifically for the priests, this is not an accurate measurement of healing. PoM procs and the healing looks as if its coming from the tank. My rule in raids is, no meters, if your target/assignment is alive, you are doing well. (Bar silly mistakes from the dee pee ess or tanker types ;)).

The advice: I am currently looking to expand my arsenal to a Tanker type as this is the only role that I havent filled in the game. So I have the following alts and now just have to decide which to level.

Aggro: lvl 25 Warrior: I love this guy's name if nothing else, I know the pains of levelling and tanking with a warrior, but at 20 euro, its just not worth the cost of the name change. So I think I am going with him. Tell me why I should or shouldn't please? Miner/Blacksmith

Shyft: lvl 15 Drood: The main reason for not going with this toon is the fact that I do not want another leatherworker. I know I can do it without crafted gear, but I believe the professions are there for a reason, you know? Tell me why I should or shouldn't please?

Rushe: lvl 31 Pala: Awesome apart from his feminine looks, and oh so painful to level, and his professions are way behind his level. Mining ftl. I like the idea of a pala tank, but would kinda like my tanking job to be easier rather than harder and I've heard pala tanking can be a really difficult exercise. Miner/Blacksmith. Tell me why I should or shouldn't please?

Also if someone could please teach me the ways of the tldr, as my walls of text want not to crit you. (Freebie account so I can't edit this one, but for in future...)

My friends and I decided to make an arena team (5v5) last night for fun. The problem, we have no clue what we are doing. We recently started doing AV all together and are having a great time at that. Arena seems to be a different beast though.

Heres how the few matches we did went:
- Enter arena
- Get owned in the face

We have a fire mage, feral druid, enhance shammy, dps warrior, and restokin. I know, random mix, possibly bad. Like I said, we just made it for fun, but what exactly is a strategy for arena? The gates open up and we just kinda felt lost, lol.

How do you play a rogue?!

My first past-lvl-10 character was a human rogue, and I...hated her. :D I didn't even wanna touch WoW again after having played her, but the boy convinced me to roll a draenei and I *heart*ed her enough to keep at it.

I kept my rogue, though, and now that I have a lvl 60 I figured I'd have the patience to go back and give her a go again (she's lvl 15 and just waiting to slap on the entire blackened defias set, yummeh).

Within five minutes of touching her, I couldn't stand her. I suspect this is because I have no knowledge of the class, attacks etc. Partially because I was in Westfall, sure, but even doing Westfall with my warrior was more enjoyable than on my rogue. I ran the girl a few steps then logged out because trying to use her action bar was a pain in the ass- really, four attacks, argh~!

I do want to level her up, though. I like her, despite...not liking her. XD But I know nothing about rogues.

I was just hit by The Dreaded Keylogger, and while I just managed to get my account back (but nothing else, yet), I'm not quite sure what to do to get rid of the thing that's probably still on my computer.
I'm trying out the programs for removing Spyware that are linked in the WoW support forums, but I'm pretty sure I'll have to break down and buy the full version of one. What is recommended/what worked to get rid of any keyloggers that you have all used? Or if one of the free spyware removers actually removes the threat, which is it?

I have several toons, as I like playing different classes and seeing how they work. Mostly I play a Prot Pally for an alt and a Rogue, while I do have a Mage and I'm leveling a Priest. I've been taking the opportunity to play my other alts instead of my tank since I joined TC. I do still play my Pally - I do a PuG Hyjal/Bt once a week, and I'll go farming every now and then. I've won a few things in the pug, my T6 helm and Cataclysm's Edge, but for the most part the gear I have is the gear I came over with.

Last night I was on my Priest in Slave Pens. We had a DPS spot open so I asked a guildie if his rogue needed to go. He asked me to go to tank Kara instead. I said no thanks. I wanted to catch up to him and a few others to 63. This morning as a joke, I said I'd respec to heal Gruuls for a shot at DST. Result? Got called a greedy bitch, cause it'd just rot in my bank. And then said why bother having my pally when I never play my pally and it rots. I don't go to the Kara or Alt-ZA's because "My DPS sucks", hey I wonder why, maybe it's cause I got to 70 and then basically never got to play? I'd've gone just to help out, screw loot. I don't play for loot, I play to have fun. And honestly doing nothing but tanking for other people's 3rd dps alt and then getting bitched at for wanting to go on a DPS alt is a little annoying.

So now I'm sitting here, feeling guilty over the fact I rolled off-spec on the Arch sword and won, that I got my T6 helm, that I don't play my Pally every day now, that I want to have fun and DPS like everyone else. And I'm angry that I'm feeling that guilty - why should I always have to tank? Yea I enjoy it, but that doesn't mean I want to nothing BUT tank on alts for alts.

Ok, this question is not really for me, it's for my boyfriend, a 70 NE Hunter. We're getting ourselves geared for Kara (they want to do it this weekend but I honestly don't think we have enough well geared healers for it ><  so we'll see.) and he's at a loss right now. Yesterday, he had a party scrutinize his hp for a BM (regular) run...he's done it before and had no problems...not even a death...o_O Now he's curious as to a few things and here they are (straight from his email from work lol)

- What spec should I go, IS it still doable to spec marksmanship to rely on burst damage from crits/aimed shot Or should I go beastmaster or something

- What kind of gear should I have going into kara, like specific peices that I can acquire from dungeons or w/e, any recommended gear that I can get without being "kara equipped" yet. Or given that gm wants to do it on sunday, anything that I can get without doing a big rep grind

Which peices of my gear should I prioritize ditching asap and for what basically, again that I can get in more short order if possible for kara

Could you fellow hunters help, any ideas/insights/suggestions...and anything else you would like to add please do. :)

I've always played a rogue so I've never been able to cast any kind of AoE spell obviously, so forgive me if this is old. But I rolled a mage recently and I was just goofing off with a friend in UC, continously casting Arcane Explosion. Well, I stood in the middle of the broken statue and did it, and suddenly I'm being attacked. At first I thought it was an Ally that somehow got into a sneaky spot but I checked my combat log and it said Lordaeron Citizen.

Midsummer? How, though? I'm Horde.

I checked the names of all the NPC's around and none of them were Lordaeron Citizen. And it only happens if I do it in the middle of the statue. I got a hunter to Volley and when he did, it evaded. I casted, it evaded. I ran out, it left me alone. Ran back in, explosion on the statue, it attacked me again.

I'm just boggled. Any explanation would be cool.

recently I've noticed an issue with my hunter's tracking.

no matter what I track, humanoids ALWAYS show up on the map. it's driving me NUTS.

Prime example:

I was tracking beasts, yet all the happy friendly inhabitants of telhamat were showing up on my minimap.



anyone else having this annoying problem? or is this 'working as intended'?

That was about my response when I found out, too:  Thanks to illness and burnout on the part of the guildmaster, I've been appointed co-GM.  Luckily, everyone in the guild seems to approve.

Right when we've finally decided to get it together and start a Kara team, even.

So I'm in a peculiar spot now.

I made it to Dun Morogh with muchly death to be had and my gear completely busted due to the number of Spirit Rezzes I took..
However, I got the Tarren Mill and Hammerfall FPs (Hammerfall hurt, since it was opposite the way I needed to go).

The trip up to Loch Modan and Dun Morogh was very painful. Dwarves are just not very socialble.

In any event, I'm in Dun Morogh and I see all my gear's dead busted. So I figure I'll try taming the first pettable mob I come across to see if I can survive the taming. I end up taming the pale grey bear.

I figure: "cool" this will work! and decide to let the bear go. Before I have a chance,  one of the snow leopards attacks me, and the bear pet attacks back (all the while with the unhappy pet face). I can't fight because my gear's busted. So the bear ends up saving my life (in a manner of speaking).

So I went to Dun Morogh to get a white wolf, and I now have a grey bear I'm actually rather fond of (especially since the skin is the one closest to the Nelf bear color). So I'm wondering if I should just keep the bear. After all, he did save my life.

I may end up getting the white wolf later on.

First of all, thanks for all the great advice on my last thread (http://community.livejournal.com/wow_ladies/5891730.html). I ended up with a priest as my new main and I'm loving every minute of it.

However, now that I've chosen my class, I've been doing some research, and it seems like there's some conflict as to the best leveling and/or dps spec. Obviously shadow is how most people will tell you to go, but I've been doing some reading on forums, and some people claim that Disc/holy is superior to shadow. Others say that's crazy, but either way it seems to provoke a lot of strong feelings.

So, does anyone have any thoughts on this? I always assumed I would level shadow, but if disc/holy is just as viable, I think I might want to try it out, at least before I get shadow form. Buffs ftw.

Also, the other day I was in Orgrimmar and saw a dragon head impaled on a pike. I've never seen that before on my other server, and Goggle gave me nothing. Can someone tell me what was up with that? It was pretty cool :D.
