Wow_Ladies: Girl Gamers of World of Warcraft

So Shavri is surprisingly my first character who wears mail, yep I dinged fourty on my hunter tonight and needless to say um...Im a bit shocked lol. Not to mention cold, very ...very cold. And very very clashing color wise.

In the wee hours of the night, Exodus of Kel'Thuzad defeated M'uru finally, after many, many heartbreaking low % wipes.

What's hilarious is that we just got our guild sponsorship a few days ago, which gave us an awesome website with a lot more bandwidth and disk space, in perfect time. We had over 800 guests trying to view our website about 30 minutes ago! :P

As you can see, from the time of posting this, it's incredibly late where I am, so I'm ready for some much needed sleep! :)

Tell me I'm not crazy for wanting to level another priest on the same server in the same faction, just a different race ;)

I have a decked out Belf 70 holy priest who is my main now. I'm an officer in t5 raiding guild who is 5/6 SSC and 3/4 TK, dabbled a bit in Hyjal and Sunwell too. I also have a t5 decked out mage who was my main until a week or so ago when I put her on the back burner. Mostly because I really love raid healing versus mashing my fireball button over and over again. And also, the mage was leveled from level 1 with a guy who, let's just say, is a jerk. And I'd like to put that behind me :p

And I want an undead priest. I dont want another Barbie doll. I want a shadow priest who can melt faces and then feast on the corpses of her enemies after she's done. I'll probably spec disc for PvP in the brackets as I level up, but I'm going to level shadow again. Maintain a good healing set and heal my way through instances. I did that until I hit level 70 on my first priest.

I have a paladin who I healed SM a few times on. OMG it was so boring compared to prest healing. And I have a druid I've been toying with but she isn't pulling me to play her like the new Undead priest I named Prosper.

Hi! Anne here, I've posted here once before, and maybe commented once or twice, and right now I would really appreciate your advice on a few matters ^__^.

The first big one is on my baby tankadin. Calico is fairly well geared, and I think I'm doing everything I should do, but she has major issues holding aggro. It's gotten to the point where I've had to salv everyone else in the group. I've tried reading pally tanking guides online, and I'm sure that they're great for an endgame tankadin, but for Cali who is a wee level 38, they don't help much. This is Calico's armory page

Now it could be the fault of the pugs she's mostly been running with, because running with guild groups generally requires me to abdicate tanking to the other pally around my level (more on him later!) who believes himself to be teh uber tankness. I always have problems getting and holding aggro if someone else (usually a hunter) hits the target first, I wanna yell at shammies who use chain lightening, cause it ALWAYS pulls the two targets I'm not directly on. (politely asking just gets me told to l2tank). And to the priest who I ran with in SM, who was supposed to be healing, I would like to ask her to die in a fire for pulling stuff with Shadow Word: Pain before I was even done drinking. She was also using Power Word: Shield on me before every fight, and at any point during a fight when I needed healing. That's right, this priest's idea of healing was PW:S and renew. Now maybe this is just me, but the shielding seemed to instantly kill any aggro I had. Does PW:S do this? Or do I just suck really really bad?
My main is a Shadow Priest who gets roped into healing alot, and if you get shielded by me in a fight it's either A: a last ditch effort to save you or B: I meant to shield myself and forgot to take you off target.

So any advice on how to help out my Pally would be much appreciated! I created this toon after having several very good (and nice!) pally tanks in groups with my main, and really am enjoying the whole tanking thing on a whole, but want to not suck at it :)

My guild uses a modified Suicide Kings loot system that we call "Spend All DKP". Basically, you accumulate points for being on time to raids and staying the full duration. When an item drops that you want, you can choose to buy it with your DKP. If more than one person is interested, it goes to the one who has the most DKP. When someone buys an item, it costs all of their DKP and sends them back down to the bottom of the list. If no one is willing to spend their DKP on an item, it goes to open rolls.

I sold a pair of Troll's Bane Leggings for 80 gold last night. They dropped off of a farmer in Arathi at the Darbyrie Farm on Shadow Council and I thought I would be lucky to get 30 gold for them so I did a price check in the trade channel. At the time I was 40 gold away from being able to afford my mount for my little BELF hunter.

Someone said 110 gold, someone else said no more like 40 gold. Then the people started bidding. I got an offer for 100 gold and if I would have known that someone would have seriously paid that much, I would have stuck them in the AH.

But at least I can afford my mount when I'm ready to ding 40!

Is 80 gold for a pair of pants absolutely crazy or is it just me?

Also. How does one make all of this money in which to pay 80 gold for a pair of trousers? My main Draenei Shammie just turned 60 but I can't afford the riding lessons yet. The training at 58 and 60 broke me and after farming and selling all my ore/jewels/jewelrymaking stuff in the AH, I'm just now up to 130 gold. I can't level in Outland unless it's the early morning hours because Shat just kills my computer to go to.

Suggestions?

Is anyone else getting a weird error dialog (with no text) when they start the launcher? I downloaded and ran AVG and I was clean, but Im nervous to log in...

And I was all looking forward to getting an early start on my dailies.

Yay, for people helping me!! THANK YOU!!

I was discussing the set up of the game with my workmates(not the OMGALLIANCERULES jerk because he sucks and I refuse to talk t him civilly anymore).

I thought it would be VERY interesting if we could switch sides(a belf can go alliance, a human can go horde, etc). Because in a REAL war there are no black and white sides. A workmate suggested it would be cool if there could be a line of quests that started in a low level and continued on into higher levels to "prove" your loyalty to the other faction. I think it would be neat to play a cutesy pink-haired gnome who is aligned with the Horde. Or an Orc who is all for the Alliance.

I mean, in the end, both factions are fighting against the Scourge and the Lich King(I also think it would be SOfreakinawesome if we could play Scourge or at least characters that were aligned with them - three factions all fighting each other ftw). So why can't a mean Undead SPriest smack some Scourge heads around right next to a Human Pally? Haha.

This has probably been thought of before but it's Tuesday. :P



Also, in the WoW elven language "Sin" means "blood" right? "Sin'dorei" means "blood elves" or am I so very, very wrong? I ask because I want to, for some reason, come up with a backstory for my little pally and I'd like her to have added the "Sin" to the front of her family name. She's pretty fanatical and hardcore vengeful for those who slaughtered her family. She's a little off her rocker when it comes to her family and her vengeance. She cut off her very long, beautiful and beloved hair(she was, at one point in her life, very vain about her looks especially her hair).

And I like to have either her husband or another close relative an Undead. Did they keep their family names? Truly, how is the relationship between the Undead and their family and/or previous peoples? I know, in general, they're all vindictive and want everyone to die but would they think as much about their surviving, unchanged family members? How are the general feelings towards the Undead? I'm sure the Belves as a whole are rather disgusted by them but I want to make my little pally still love her Forsaken kin - which would add to her fanaticism.

WoW-wiki here I come.

I'm not very big into RPing, I just, for some reason, want to have a backstory ready for that one day I feel like it. Ha. I suck at RPing but maybe if I have a story and find a helpful, patient guild I can learn how to do it WoW-style.

I'm sure this storyline has been used a zillion times but it's what fits. Even the face I chose for her looks determined and slightly mad(the glowing eyes man!).

Hello ladies!

I'm the mage class lead for Vestri Matris, a semi-hardcore raiding guild on Cenarius-US. We're looking for a few good players to round out our progression raiding.

We are a "west coast" server so we do play in server time, however many members (including the guild leader) are east coasters; we also have members scattered throughout the world.

Our summer raid schedule is Tues/Weds/Thur, 6:30 pm invite time through 11:00 pm PST (server time). We have optional raiding on Sundays at the same time. After the summer is over, Sunday becomes a normal raiding day again. We expect 75% attendance.

Enhancement shaman: 1

Those are our focus areas but we will always consider anyone of any class and spec (except resto shaman and prot warriors... we have about 7 of each) that is an exceptional applicant, especially if you can heal.

We no longer raid Kara or Gruul as official runs, however most of us have 2-3 level 70 alts that run both; I personally do about 2 Kara runs and 1 Gruul run a week, for my PvP hunter and my pimped-out alt priest. We are looking for other like-minded individuals that are beyond T4 content in terms of gear and mindset.

Why the hell isn't anyone ever recruiting hunters? All the recruitment posts I see just in here and there's like...maybe one in a dozen where they want hunters. T6 guilds especially.

Is it purely numbers, or are we really that useless at that level?

Hi! I have a sort of twinked out hunter as an alt and I've been qq'ing alot lately because I want to get Echeyakee as a pet.

Problem is, you can only summon as part of a horde-only quest chain at like lvl 15 or something. And, alas, I am Alliance on a pvp server. I've camped the spawning point for ...literally... hours and hours for days, and no noobs have shown up with the quest.

Any ideas?

Well, I've always played relatively non-squishy classes. I like to solo and I hate grouping. But I'm bored and want to lvl up either my priest or my mage.

My mains are a hunter and a druid. Pretty much I could solo even some of the group quests back in Azeroth. (Outlands...not so much lol). I have a penchant for taking 2-3 on at a time.

So...all in all for you more squishy classes out there, how do you fare soloing?

This is mainly a post made out of curiousity, but I'm wondering if there are any female Gladiators/Duelists/generally high ranked arena players in this community? Seems there are quite a few women in hardcore raiding guilds that post, but I don't recall having seen m/any posts from females that do top end arena.

Mainly to quell my curiousity, if there are any such lurking, what class(es), specs and compositions do you play, and at what rating? How did you get into it? Who do you play with?

I don't consider myself high ranked, my ratings are average, but since I'm asking I may as well give a brief intro. I play a Disc Priest on Bloodlust-US and S3 is the first season I've played "seriously". At the start of S3 I got over 1800 in 2s and 5s quite a few times but never reached 1850.
Unfortunately, several of my partners quit the game and my 5s disbanded leaving my 2s inactive, so I took a 2 month break from Arena. Now I'm reforming my teams with new people and looking for some motivation to possibly get my S3 wep before S4 starts =P

Relic, a guild on Doomhammer US (PVE), is in need of a Restoration Shaman to add to our current healing team! Our raid calender is currently M-F, 6:30pmMST-10:30pmMST. Don't be scared of the 5 night raiding schedule, we know not everyone can make this. All apps with be considered.

We are a fairly large guild with our main focus on raiding. We also do alt runs (to the tune of about 5-6 Kara groups over the weekends for badges), lots of PVP, heroics etc. If you are considering applying to the guild you should be aware of the following:

1. Your gear has to be T5 quality epics or better. Don't be scared if you're in Kara gear, I applied with lots of Kara epics, and we recruited a fantastic WoW Lady who hadn't seen past Lurker and got to see Illidan die last night. ;)
1b. Having the title Hand of A'dal is preferable, but not a requirement. I joined after 2.4 and never saw Kael'thas die..
2. Your gear must be fully enchanted and socketed so that it is the best you can possibly make it for now.
3. You have a means of getting flasks, either by farming or purchasing.
4. We bring in the appropriate make-up for each boss encounter, so you must be ok with being swapped out for a fight if the team needs it.
6. We require roughly 75% attendance. Kara is ran on your own time either with the guild or other friends.
7. We would like you to be 18 years of age or older. We have made some exceptions but they are very few. The average age of the guild is 28, we are rowdy and tend to cuss like sailors.
8. You must be able to take constructive criticism, and be able to vocally work on new strats with us.
9. We are very laid back, with most of us being friends for a long time; that being said we do not have vent rules and vent is definitely not PG rated. If you are easily offended by jokes, language, teasing, or porn - Relic is definitely not the right place for you.

...So I was flying along some flight paths yesterday and noticing I could not, for the life of me, pay attention to a flight in the Outland.

And today, I realized as I rushed to peek at one of the dwarven camps under a flight in Azeroth that this was exactly why I couldn't pay attention to flights in the Outland: They're boring! There's nothing on the flight paths to peer at and see from things like Nessie to Ironforge airport to the hidden encampments here and there... Just big floaty rocks. With nothing on them.

My guild had it's first ever venture into Karazhan tonight. Now, that may not seem that big of a deal, but my guild is a PvP guild on a RPPvP server, lol. I'd run it with a previous guild, frustratingly, and never really liked the place. Well, in about 2 hours, we one-shotted our way through Attumen, beast boss, Maiden and Moroes. Half of the group had never set foot in there; the other half had, but hadn't been in much. It was such a fun experience! We only had a total of 4 deaths, and not all at once. Most of the gear that dropped was sharded, 'cause almost all of us were in full Glad gear and/or PvP epics, but an enchanter got Mongoose, a healer got the belt off Moroes, our druid bear got the healing mace off Maiden for off-spec and I picked up the Emerald Ripper for fun and the off-chance I'll go back duel wield. (Currently using the S3 2h axe for hunters) Who knows... maybe we'll think about running it on a regular (for us means about once every week or two, LOL) basis for badges.

Just had to share my excitement... you ladies understand!

I know a big reason I joined this community was to have a place to vent and or ramble about any and all in-game stresses I was dealing with at the time, as well as any and all accomplishments. It's always fun to say "Hey guys, I got _______ from _____ today!" and have people understand why you're excited or "I got ganked in the middle of an escort quest now I have to restart!! /qq". xD

I'm curious, though, if anyone has any 'habits' they perform when you've had a bad day in-game.

Example: I was being camped by a rogue a few days ago on my hunter to the point where I wanted to scream. It happened when I was escorting my husband through Arathi on his alt. She sapped me, and it went downhill from there being I was mounted. She stealthed and continued to sap and kill me for AN HOUR whenever I tried rezzing. I even waited FIFTEEN minutes to rez (I did dishes) and she was sitting there, waiting! (because I mustmustmust log off in a major city or it bothers me! haha.) So instead I left WoW logged in, didn't rez, and baked tons and tons of mini cupcakes! :D I frosted them, and then put sprinkles on them by hand. It took A WHILE, but after I felt so...calm that I logged back in (I got timed out), hearthed (she was gone thank god), and went about my merry way. I got ganked a few times, but it didn't phase me.

In short: When I have a bad day in-game, I bake.

What do *you* do to relieve in-game stress?
