Mages @ 70.

Scouring over the Mage forums, I heard that Frost is now awesome for PvP and Fire is now good for PVE. Heavy Frost is good for levelling and soloing and Fire is awesome for that burst damage. I'm 68 right now. Here's my build: 10/0/51. I'd be, like, the 4th Mage in the guild that seriously wants to raid. I'm worried about my raid spot being taken by other, more popular and renowned Mages in the guild. Most of them are already Frost, one is Fire.

I think I want to respec Arcane after I hit 70. I'd be the only Slow Mage in the guild! Any thoughts on the Arcane tree on a PvE perspective? Or should I just keep my Frost build?

When a guild starts to nose dive.

Backstory:

Guild is reasonably small, as the GM used to be the only one who could invite.
He screened new recruits prior to inviting them; grouped with them, asked a guild member to group with them, find out what they were like, etc...

As a consequence, we had a guild full of non-netspeaking, mature, helpful people.

Then he gave invite privileges to other members, and they started inviting anyone they thought looked cool.

The one in question that's bugging me: Recently one of our lvl 70s invited his little brother to the guild.
His little brother is an ASS. Seriously, he's the type that if I'd ended up in a PUG with him I'd have /ignored him almost immediately.

He can't/won't speak in anything BUT netspeak, he's rude, he thinks it's funny to constantly call people "n00bs" or do that stupid "lern 2 play" shite every time ANYONE asks a question in guild chat, and his favorite phrase is "lol fagz!"
I don't find that phrase offensive, just irritating as he says it all the goddamned time!
Not only that, but in addition to him, his older brother invited all of this kid's equally as irritating friends. They're ALL LIKE THAT!

We've already lost about 10 guild members over them. I left my last guild due to an influx of idiots like that, and really did like this guild until the group of brats were invited.

The 70 and the GM are on really good terms so I'm not exactly sure how to go about saying, "Man, seriously, kick these little bastards, they're pissing everyone but *name of the guy who invited them* off; they're immature little bratlings."

What's even worse is that nobody in guild chat will tell these brats to STFU because they don't want to piss off Mr. Popular 70 Rogue. Oh, they'll bitch about the kids in party chat and in tells, but won't actually say anything.
I HAVE made comments in guild chat, not rude ones, but just "please knock it off" type stuff only to have the "lol fagz! omg lighten up! imma jokeing!!" comments made in return.

Any ideas on how to bring this up to the GM without causing a guild explosion?

Druid threat ... from healing.

(I posted something similar to [info]worldofwarcraft, so apologies if this is showing up as a repost to anyone).

As a resto druid healbot, I've noticed in the last week or so in both 5 man instances and in Karazhan that my heals appear to be generating a high amount of threat -- so much so it's putting me at the top of the hatelist almost instantly -- even from something as innocuous as a couple ticks of a Rejuv.

I have done everything I can think of to mitigate this, from playstyle changes (waiting longer before launching heals) to getting a Subtlety enchant on my cloak to offset a small amount of my heal-threat.

However, it seems like I'm still getting aggro from my healing threat several times a run. This is especially true of multi-mob pulls. I've been watching KTM threat meter to get a feel for my relative threat position, and it seems it's always higher than at least one of the two warriors with whom I'm typically in Karazhan raids. As I said, a couple ticks of my Rejuv put me at the top of the list more than once (my rejuvs tick for 700+), and I wasn't able to pause healing long enough to it to subside during the whole encounter.

Any ideas on what else I could be doing to mitigate my healing threat generation? Or is this a side-effect of the warrior rage generation issues, so the warriors can't use their threat-generating abilities earlier/more often?

Oh, the crazy things my friends and I do

I've been having a lot of fun with my draenei hunter lately.

I leveled Myleesa up to 30 the other night, and Decktire (guildee) and her roleplayed for a bit. It was great!

Awesome thing the 1st: She and four others at 30 and lower rolled through Eliza (Bride of the Embalmer), Mor'Ladim, and Morbent Fel in ten minutes max. Just one right after the other.

Awesome thing the 2nd: A nice draenei hunter helped her beat somebody for a quest. She'd died, but he still kept at it and beat him. Since she'd started it, it counted for her. :D

Awesome thing the 3rd: After meeting up with Decktire in Refuge Pointe, Myleesa now has a raptor named Tambo, after a troll member of the guild.

Awesome thing the 4th: They were going to sun at Southshore beach (You get a cookie if you get the reference :D), but it had been overrun by Murlocs! Oh noez! So, Decktire and Myleesa got smashed at the Pig and Whistle in Stormwind after finding out there was no alcohol to be found in Southshore. Bastards.

This happened about five minutes into the drinking. )

Ah, good times.

And...here's fanart of her I finished last night!

I thought some of you might find this amusing...

So, I was signing on to my Yahoo! mail the other day, and this ad appeared:

You can be a level 70 Night Elf Hunter... )

I'm glad I wasn't at work, because explaining why I was laughing would have been...interesting...

Shammy quest issues?

Hey ladies,
I dunno if anyone can help with this, but figured I'd ask:
Ok, My sister (who plays Horde predominantly) finally bit the bullet and created a Draeni Shaman (Bronzebeard). Well, she is currently doing her shammy quest (for fire totem, I believe) and got the torch she needed to go along and finsih her quest. She logged out, and when she logged back in, it was GONE (the torch). She contacted a GM and the first one says that she will not get a walk through on a quest, so she can figure out what to do on her own. So, she contacts again, explaining that she doesn't want a walk through, just her item back. Second GM states she has to do "this, that, and the other" thing and go from there. She does so...no torch. Contacts AGAIN, and again gets the "do this...." type of thing....
Everytime she contacts a GM (3 times) she states that she DOES NOT want a walk through for the quest, just the item that she DID have, that disappeared once she logged off. The first guy was rather rude...and she even considered quitting the game alltogether (except that she has a lvl 37 Hunter, and her sis on the game) She enjoys it, just not enough to deal with a GM treating her like she's some idiot who can't do her own quests.
Anyone have any ideas? She's gonna contact again this evening, and attatch the previous emails from the GM....all she wants is her torch, so she can finish her shammy quest.

Feral druid changes in PTR

I just have to rant. I have to tell someone that understands >.>
At the moment, I play a feral druid, I've been feral since 2.0, before then I was resto and even before becoming a healbot at 55-60, I leveled up balance.
I never pvp'ed much and it bothered me when arenas came out and blizzard focused them. Some of you have to agree that some of the new patch notes are tailored towards pvp such as forbearance, decresing 15% damage when applied. (I know its a pally thing just listing an example).
And you priests out there, you got shafted...I don't know why or what blizzard was thinking. Anyhow...
I offtanked in Karazhan, I tank many of our 5 mans. I agree, I was overpowered, I did way too much damage in dire bear form. But by nerfing my damage in bear form, they nerf my ability to tank. I am glad warriors got their buff, they really needed it. But I would still like to offtank, but taking away the chunk of damage I did they took away my threat. A bear held aggro but doing damage. The mechanics should've change. But instead I can't damage therefore I cannot produce threat. Now if my attacks caused more threat a bit like a warrior's then I would be happy, I could still tank. I want to tank on par with a fury warrior. Prot warriors hands down should be the best tanks, but I've healed for 2 years, on my holy priest then on a resto druid. After having a taste of something else I can do, I don't want to be a heal bot anymore. I might quit, I know its a stupid reason, but then I might reroll, for the 5th time >.> Well off to my warlock I guess...sigh...

Guildies, meet my...other guildies

What I love about PvE servers is being able to play both sides at once. Which means you get to have two guilds and meet more cool people!

Though my Horde clan likes to joke about how I'm cheating on them with my Alliance peeps.

Today, my Horde Guild commander suddenly said in gchat "I met Padre!" "Clan Stormwalker!"

So my Horde main priest meets my Alliance guild's most popular priest. And they along with some other level 70s from both sides end up dancing and hugging. Looks like they'll be quite a few more dual-guilded people soon seeing how cordial things are at the moment, haha.

Anybody out there juggling two guilds and two sides at once? Me and my close girlfriend even like to run together - so if you're on Terenas and you see a BE pally and a dranei shaman running together, that's us! Sornevandiel and Vasigari, hee hee.

mushrooms can be cute

I can't be the only person in the world who wants to play a sporeling.

if there was one race you could choose to be put into WoW as playable, what would it be?

edit::
I think goblins would be pretty cool, too. as a neutral faction, with the inability to become anything past neutral with either the horde or alliance.

I have a dilemma...

My friend and class leader seems to be leaning towards changing mains to hunter and thus dropping his officer status. Besides the fact that I really dont want him to stop being my class leader because he makes an awesome officer, I'm worried that he is considering me to replace him if he decides to stand down. Worried because I really dont consider myself the best at my class and would be pretty bad at telling others what to do. There is only one other rogue that would be a good officer, he's very good at his class, knows a lot about it etc..but he's way too serious. He's too harsh in words and easily steps on toes. Other then that I think he's a great guy but if he became officer I think he would rule with an iron fist, making it less fun for myself to play a rogue at all. Under our current class officer we have lots of fun and are very casual towards everything while still doing our job very well. This is the way I want to play, but the other rogue is all about a strict raiding guild mentality. So you can see my dilemma, to become a class leader that doesn't really know wtf to do besides treat people fairly and keep a fun athmosphere, or to let that other guy become officer and possibly destroy my desire to play a rogue.

But I hope I dont have to make the decision at all :< I'm not really here for answers, more to rant about it...but if you have had a similar experience feel free to share.
