The Bloodelf changes.
Okay WoW players.
It's become about far more than just pixels. I know a lot of you don't care and a lot of you like the change but please, hear me out.
Because of the way it's been presented and the huge arguments surrounding it, it's become about sexism and homophobia and the fact we always have to be considerate of straight boys and their insane fear of anything remotely gay or girlie.
God forbid there be pretty boys in the game, they could be gay! God forbid the girls get some eye candy, the only pretty and sexy in the game should be boobs! God forbid the emotes sound vaguely gay, even in humor, since it offends their delicate senses, etc etc.
I for one am tired of it. And it's not just the look of the blood elves, everything I found cute about their character is at risk.
To quote a good friend of mine:
"There have apparently been posts from Beta players saying that the muscle is a good start, but they'd like the jump gone, the casting animations, the voice acting..."
I wrote a long ass rant about this here explaining why I want the old model back so I don't think I have to repeat all that here.
Some of you may think I'm reading too much into this and making a big deal out of nothing; but the fact remains that we have a blue post saying they made these changes because BETA boys thought the bloodelf males were too effeminate. After the change we've been getting a lot of posts from people who like the changes and throw words like 'gay' and 'bishies' around in a not too nice way.
I want the old model back and I want the emotes to stay the same.
There's a petition online and I really think people should sign it. I really think all of you should sign it actually, if you agree and even if you don't care. Because if you don't care, then you'll give the rest of us the variety we crave.
Thank you for reading.
