Why I love my guild

So a few weeks ago I made a BE DK, and as my friend and I were leveling together; we met another DK who asked if we wanted to join his guild, so we said sure. It's a large guild bigger than any guild I've been apart of on the alliance side. It has 175 members, normally with 11-12 on every day. Well I stayed quiet the first few weeks, said hello and started small chit chat, didn't want to accidentally start drama or ask for attention.

A few days ago I was invited to my first level 60 raid, yes they aren't much but it was enough to get my feet wet and see what this guild could do, I stood back and watched, and someone in the guild whispered to me explaining how the raids work and what to do. By the end of the raid I was doing some decent hits and really enjoying myself, I love raids LOL

So yesterday I asked the guild if anyone could help me down some elites, and someone responded sure give a few. Well I got more than him helping me down some elites, and I was surprised to find someone other than my leveling mate, go out of their way to give me my shiny new present. LOL Not only did I get a new Axe, someone also volunteered to make me new bags, I mentioned I had a bunch of Mageweave cloth and was going to donate it to the guild, a person said hey I can make you two new bags, and they did.

I figured with all the people going through guild drama, and guild princesses I thought it was time to post why I love my guild. :) So if you have a happy guild post, feel free to share it. :)

Sprite Darters

I remember when I was new to WoW. I was leveling Aredhel, my then new and now main toon, in Ashenvale and there were blink dragons. I wanted one for a pet so I did some research and learned of the sprite darters. I was extremely sad to discover they were alliance only. I have wanted one since forever.

I haven't really played much since I leveled Aredhel to 80 in November. I definitely have not been keeping up on patch notes. I haven't kept up on anything WoW related for the last seven months. Hence, missing the following patch note...Sprite Darter Eggs: May now (very rarely) drop from Sprite Darters in Feralas. Note that only Horde characters can attack and kill Sprite Darters.

Anyways, I started playing again this week and on Tuesday I was questing merrily along in Feralas trying to level my alt tauren warrior, Faress. I was doing the quest 'Natural Materials' and killing the sprite darters for their encrusted minerals when out of nowhere one of them drops a sprite darter egg. Imagine my surprise when that sucker dropped. Then imagine my disappointment on seeing that it was soulbound. I tried to go back to questing. I ran around Feralas for half an hour on Faress, but I just could not be at peace while my alt had a pet that my main did not. Especially one I've wanted since I began playing.

I logged off of Faress and on to Aredhel with one goal in mine. Aredhel was going to have a sprite darter pet no matter how long it took.

There were some level 40s questing in the area when I arrived. I am sure they were as annoyed with me as I was with them for killing all the sprite darters. Luckily for all of us they have a decent respawn time. I ran around a bit but never had to wait for respawns. Eventually, the others left. After exactly 30 minutes Aredhel had her baby sprite darter. I must say she is the cutest thing ever.

The patch notes say it is a rare drop, but I got two within about an hour. Definitely not the worse thing I've farmed. My azure whelpling took weeks.

Holy Paladin Raid Healing

Hey fellow Warcrafters, I am looking for any tips or hints you may have on raid healing as a Holy Paladin.

I went Holy at 68 because a group of IRL friends were making alts and wanted to run stuff together. Of us, my boyfriend has played the longest and his main is in a hardcore raiding guild (though he doesn't do the raiding anymore to spend time with me in game XD). Healing for that many levels gave me a really good grasp of what to do once we hit heroics and lo, I can count the deaths on one of my hands, which I am very proud of even if I feel really guilty when someone manages to die when I get all flustered.

Two weeks ago I attempted to heal my first raid, 25 VoA. Now, I have a hunter main so I know what to expect dps wise in the fights but having to pay attention to the tanks I was very surprised how much damage the tank was taking. I found myself spamming Holy Light to hope that the heal would charge up in time for the damage he was going to take. Unfortunately, my neverending mana actually ended. Divine Plea was still on cooldown and so was my Darkmoon card. Not that it mattered since we wiped to an elemental explodey.

I do realize my Holy Ligh spam tactic wasn't the smartest thing in the world but, damn, the tank was going from full to 1/4 in the blink of an eye.

How do you ladies handle raid healing? DO you wait for damage or go preemptive like my poor attempt?

RAF-help; I need tips, ladies!

Right, I'm still having a blast on my belf paladin. I'm still amazed with how I pull like 5 mobs and I don't die.

But now and again I get this itch and I need to play an alt. I'm fine with my druid, it's like the 5th one i'm creating and levelling in all my years of wow, but I want to try some other alts and man... they're boring on the low levels. Everytime my hubbie tells me they'll get better around 40 or 30, but I don't want to play that long with something i'm not fully enjoying. I know I'll enjoy those classes when they get higher, since I tried it on his account, but I cba to go through the low levels for such a long time.

There's where my brianed went RAF. At least I can level them quicker (from what I've read of some of the posts about RAF). But how to do this?
I need tips on how to handle this, and I mean really from the start.
like:
- What's the best way to do it? (I have to run it on my own pc)
- Do I put one char on follow?
- What area's are good?
- What classes?
- Do you have to stick with one char or do you have to make another char to get another level 1 levelled up?
- when I do the RAF won't I get in trouble for using the same e-mail info as my normal wow account?
- Etc.

As you can see I am completly clueless.

lvling a Warrior

okay so my hubby and wife both have warriors. One is fury and the other Arms. I honestly have no idea the diffence in the two. Well anyways.. they got into a heated "DISCUSSION" *coughs* aka an argument * chuckles* let just say it was funny. So that got me to thinking.. i have never really played a warrior so i started my little girl. She is lvl 28 now and prot all teh way. But everyone tells me that its stupid to lvl prot. To hard and and takes to long. So here is my question. Is it really that bad? i mean i have been lvling her and i haven't had an issue with fighting anything.

Copyin' WoW from a Mac to a PC?

My baby has one of the Failvida GeForce 8600M GT vid cards which Apple acknowledged last year has a high rate of well...failure and now my baby's screen goes black frequently. So it has to be shipped off to have the board replaced and of course I can't do it through the Apple store, (this is also my work machine). Nooo I have to ship it off to our techs which means that my three/four day down time has turned into at least a week at this point.

I have a Dell at home. . .it's not a good Dell but I can probably limp along on it and the less patching I have to do the happier I'll be so. . .anyone know how much will move over? I'm guessing not the executable but I should be able to copy server profiles and preference data at least right?

MM shot priority

What shot priority are you ladies currently using for marksmanship (level 80, endgame)?

I just made it my 2nd spec (surv is my first) and I'm not too sure whether I should use aimed shot or arcane shot or both even. I read a lot of conflicting things.

Basically, I'm going Serpent sting-->chimera-->aimed--->steady--->steady--->chimera, etc

I'm wondering if I need to throw arcane in there are all.

A new way to keylog?

Just a couple minutes ago, I got whispered by someone named "Adminwow", with a url and everything. Instantly knew it was a keylogger (obviously didn't go to it). Has anyone else had this happen? I've heard of people's account getting hacked and linking guildmates keyloggers, but I haven't heard this. Oh well, in case not, I'm just warning you all.

Wow All A Twitter!

Hi all!  First off, I read the rules and I couldn't see anything that said this sort of post was not allowed, however if I've missed something or misunderstood, please accept my apologies. :)

Hi guys! I'm sure you all are dying for another "plz look at my armory and give me feedback" post, so here I am! Ahem, anyway: I just respecced to Survival, from BM (lol late.) I'm working on the training dummies now and my dps is... the same. Pretty much exactly. And that's on a dummy, not on an actual moving, breathing boss. So I'm a little bummed. As far as I can tell I've followed the advice I've found. I definitely still need to become more at ease with the rotation- I realize that will help. But are there other things I can change?

druid questions

So, I have a baby druid, she's level 25. She's going to be my next 80 and I'm leveling boomkin with the intention of dual-speccing resto when the time comes.

I just want some general advice on both specs. I have an 80 mage who I raid with. She'll forever be my baby.

So, any advice would be helpful, I have limited healing experience but I have great situational awareness.

Fishing Buddy Question

Why does my fishing buddy not recognize new fishing poles and allow me to click cast with them? It only seems to work with my Kaluak pole, not any that I've gotten from the fishing daily.

priest weapon

My main is priest specced holy/disc. At some point I switched from using mace/offhand to using a staff. I'd like to go back to maces. A guildie (also a priest) said that maces give more spellpower and staves have better stats. Not counting the legendary mace, what is the best mace/offhand combo? Should I stick with staves? For reference, my guild is casual and right now we're working on 10man Ulduar.

So I'm thinking that it would be a lot of fun to take a break from hardcore leveling and spend some time on various random lore-filled events. I'm trying to make a list of all the places and things that I'd like to go and/or do, and I come to you ladies. If I'm interested in a history tour of Azeroth, from Alliance side (but with a tourguide who knows Horde), what should I absolutely add to my list?

My achievement goals:
PETS!!! (I'm also collecting non-combats, so suggestions on quest lines that lead to pets would be great!)
Loremaster title(quests good!)
Explorer title
Instances

Here's what I have so far for activity ideas:
Uldaman
Karazhan (I know part of the history, but I'd love to hear it again)
Caverns of Time
Sprite Darter quest chain

What else do you ladies and gents suggest?

And for those that have no idea, what are some of the new dances that you'd like to see implemented in WoW?

For me, I'd roll an Undead if they could do the Thriller.

Ok, so I'm in a guild. I'm sure it's a great guild, but no one in it is hardly ever online. I've seen like four people on at the same time from the guild. I don't even think the GL has been on in quite sometime. I'm thinking of leaving to find a social guild where people are on most of the time to maybe talk to and level up with. My question is should I just /gquit quietly or should I email/message the GL and tell him why I'm leaving the guild and then /gquit?

That being said I'm looking for a Social Guild on the US Zangarmarsh server (Alliance). Lvl 40 warrior (she just dinged earlier! \o/) who's still very new to this game. Half the time I have no idea what I'm doing. :P
