You queue for a 5-man and either the tank/healer sucks really bad. Are you more likely to kick the sucky player or just drop group?

View Answers

Kick the sucky player
34 (34.0%)

Drop group
37 (37.0%)

Half/Half
29 (29.0%)

Edit: Btw, by "suck" I mean REALLY suck. As in level 80 warrior with +intellect level 70 greens tanking a heroic.

Whose fault is it?
[info]jaliel
I was reading one of the ladies post about a tank that misclicked (he was actually dps and most likely queued as tank to get instan queue, but anyway), and how she and her guildmates (they were the 3 dps and the healer) proceeded to insult the person when he refused to leave group.
Ok, so. I understand it's a pain when someone refuses to leave, however, not long ago I've been through a very simmilar situation.
I queued as a healer (seeing as I'm a resto druid with 5900 gs, fully ICC 25/10 geared) and 30 sec later it pops and it's H PoS. I'm thrilled, it's really rare for me to get that random, seeing as I usually get OK or DTK (don't ask me why - it's a 95% chance I'll get one of those). So, I gotta say, I'm very cooperative and patient, I try not to mock other people's dps (not even the dk doing 800 dps >.<), I am so good I can heal through stupid (like ppl standing in fire). I am very easy going and helpful and polite.
But this chucklefuck dk tank starts going LEFT as soon as we zone in. I question why and he answers me that there's a chance hilt will drop from those mobs and that he will kill them all. One dps agrees, the other 2 seems oblivious to what's happening. I tell him I just wanna get this over with, seeing as I'm only doing it for my frost badges. He then tell me to "stfu" and heal him, which then I refuse to do it. He's from Akama, mind you, the server with the rudest people I've ever come across in WoW (no offense to any ladies from there, but there's a lot of asshats on your server). One dps then says he doesn't mind skipping either, and then the tank and the other 2 dps starts calling me a bitch, a fat cunt, a retard whiny baby and so on. I reply saying that a ticket has been put in for harassment and I still refuse to heal them, in which they say they'll kick me when the time is up. They continue to pull, thinking I'll change my mind, and i'm just sitting at the entrance, ready to zone out in case they decide to kill me via kiting mobs to me. The dps friend sits by me. One of his dps dies, and being a pure dps run (only I can rez), he leaves group after calling me horrible names, followed shortly by the tank. 5 sec later we get another tank and another dps, and do the run quickly and smoothly.
So now I ask you: Am i the wrong for just wanting to get a run done quickly? And what are your thoughts when you join a random and the group is premade and insist on doing every single achievement created by devs?

Returning to the game after a hiatus
World of Warcraft\\Murloc
[info]morningapproach
For those of you that took extended breaks from the game and returned, what prompted you to do so? I've been taking time off since school went back after Christmas break, and haven't played since. At first it was a monetary decision and a decision to motivate me to be more productive, but I find now that I am missing the game and the enjoyment it gave me. I am trying to justify going back, but haven't been able to convince my SO to allow me too (since he is paying all the bills) nor have I convinced myself that it would be time well spent.

NOW, I am not asking for you ladies to justify my desire to return to the game. I am however curious what factors were at play when YOU took a break and why did you start back up again?

Who says mages are smart?
hrmph!
[info]dotgirl
As I've mentioned before, I've been trying to improve the gear on my level 80 mage - pretty successfully, but there were one or two slots for which I just could not find an upgrade. I finally decided that my Darkmoon Card: Illusion was just too sad to be using anymore, and it was time to farm the Abyssal Rune.

So I ran Heroic ToC. Then I ran it again. And again. And 15 more times after that.

I know, you're sitting there saying, 'But. But the rune doesn't drop in heroic.'

Yeah. Figured that out last night when a guildie finally said "WTF are we looking for here anyway? Rune? Drops only in regular. Dumb mage".

Ran regular 3 times - got the rune. So. Better rune, check. Embarrassed mage? Check.

Guild Problem
[info]dahliabelle
Yet another guild issue...

My husband and I have been part of a small social guild for about a year, and we've loved our time there. We do tons of 5-man instances and we've been part of several raids, folks are there are fun and they don't take the game too seriously, which is just the way that we like it. We're casual-but-good players and enjoy doing everything that the game has to offer, we just don't think that WoW has to be a high-stress, serious environment.

The problem? We have a long-standing alliance with another small guild, one that's made of more hardcore members. The GM of that guild and our GM are best friends, our guild's officers are good friends with their officers, and several members have alts in both guilds. The problem is that whenever we try to organize anything (ie seasonal boss runs, 5-man instance groups, etc), we can't get folks to participate because they're waiting for the GM of the other guild and his friends to see what they've planned that night. We're in that awkward spot where we have too few people to get two groups going at once, but too many people for just one group.

To add to it, the other GM seems to take advantage of folks to his own gain, such as during seasonal boss runs he has folks switch their alts in and out so they end up killing the boss a ton of times, but will not let anybody else roll on the rare mount, pet, or whatever else he wants during that run. It seems like he has people in his hip pocket, and they do anything he asks, even if it means that our own guild-mates are left hanging. He's even told us to take applicants that he liked but for some reason he didn't want in his own guild.

It's frustrating because we can't talk to our GM or any of our officers about this, since it would all end up making it's way back to the other GM and cause drama, which we definitely DON'T want.

So we're faced with growing irritation at the situation every day that this happens, or with leaving our guild and trying to find another stable, fun, relaxed guild for our characters. We hate to leave because we do love the people in our guild, and yes, it's their $15/month and they should be able to play as they like, but at the same time, we're concerned that we may not be able to take it much longer.

Of Wow Valentines Gifts and How to Present Them
[info]soliloquy042
So, the boyfriend saw the Panderen monk in a raid he was in a few days ago and just about fell out of his chair laughing at the antics of the cute lil guy. He promptly mentioned that he wanted one and when I told him that Lil KT will (from what I heard) kill other minipets, he lol'd and said he wanted one of those too. The thing is, he isn't the type of guy that buys little things like that for himself, for whatever reason.

So, for Valentine's Day I'm going to buy them for him. I'm still dithering over how to present them because if he doesn't actually open up his pet screen, he won't even know they are there. Any suggestions?

In the meantime, are any of you ladies going to do anything (wow-related) special for a SO for Valentines Day? :)

(Mods, if there is already a post like this, feel free to delete.)

RSI & Ergonomic Mouse
me - in the park
[info]immodica
Hi ladies, I was hoping some of you might be able to offer me some advice.

I have an office job during the day where I spend most of my time at the computer. Then after work my two main hobbies consist of playing WoW and playing the violin. Combine these three and it results in quite a big strain on my right hand. It never really bothered me before but the past few weeks it's gotten really bad to the point where I need to take painkillers otherwise it hurts too much. The pain I experience is mostly in the palm of my hand (rather than the wrist, which is what a lot of people with RSI suffer from), it radiates out from the middle and also goes up my lower arm.

I think it's mostly exacerbated by the position my hand is in (kind of stretched out over the mouse, in a round shape) and using the scroll wheel (I use my middle finger for that).

So, I want to get an ergonomic mouse to help relieve the strain on my hand/arm. I'd specifically like one that puts my hand in a different position (less stretched) and doesn't produce the same strain when using the scroll wheel.

Please recommend me your favourite ergonomic mouse! It would be especially helpful to know if you've exprienced RSI in your hand as well and whether switching mouse helped and what other things you did that reduced your pain.

Quel'Delar!
!firefly ; no power in the 'verse
[info]jillenhall
On Saturday night, me, my boyfriend and my bff tried to get me the last 3 achievements I need for Glory of the Hero. We headed to Nexus as one I needed was Chaos Theory, the pugs we got were having none of it and purposely messed it up for me. Despite asking nicely several times and asking as soon as I zoned into the instance. I was pretty bummed, obviously.

So, last night I was doing the daily random on my DK and a Battered Hilt dropped. Everyone rolled need, and I won it! I think I almost fell off my chair. I got whispers straight away asking if I wanted to sell it, hehe! But I sent it to my Mage, who doesn't raid anymore and would love the upgrade, and the questline. A few hours later and some nice people willing to clear extra mobs in PoS for my quest items, I have my awesome Quel'Delar, Lens of the Mind. Like it was to make up for the fail from the previous night!

I've been trying to get the Hilt since I saw my boyfriend go through the questline on his DK. The questline is really a lot of fun, I really enjoyed it. Especially the ending part. I forgot to take screenshots during the quests though, fail!

Anyone else that's gone through the quests, what was your favourite part?

I'm a recent transfer to Uldum (US PvE) and a recent come-backer to WoWLadies. However, my not-knowing anyone on Uldum is not the reason why I'm posting.

I come before you to ask....Does anyone play in or know of, a BC-raiding guild?

See, I liked BC raiding. And I'm kinda getting tired of killing UndeadRaidBoss#552, my group of 7 or so dailies and then logging off for the day. And since I have this wee 70 Resto Shaman who's got delusions of Elemental fury, I'm wondering if I can find a BC raiding guild for fun times on weekends - if they even exist anymore.

I'm currently an Alliance Shaman, Resto spec'd and Ele off. (Disclaimer: My Ele gear is the same as my Resto gear currently.) I'm still gearing up from hitting 70 about 2 weeks ago so my gear is mostly quest blues, some instance drops, and greens I bought off the AH. I'm leveling my Alchemy and herbalism. As long as I can raid Friday&Saturday I'm good to go!

Disappointed in myself
and I want a pony
[info]mshcherbatskaya
Three guildies and I needed to do our daily random Heroic pretty late last night, so we pulled a PUG tank out of the queue for Violet Hold. My three guildies are all very, very experienced, and at least one of them, the warlock, is an e-peen porn star of sorts, all about his gearscore and his most recent unbelievable crit. The healer was an old veteran raid healer, the hunter knew his business, and though this is my first 80, I feel comfortable with the fight at this point. So we are thinking that it's going to be a bit of a face-roll, right up until the point where the warlock says "What the hell is the tank doing?"

This turned out to be the beginning of rotation that continues Where is the Tank?> Where is the Tank Going?> This Tank Can't Hold Aggro> Someone Heal Me!> We Are Lucky to Have X Healing This.

It turned out of be an episode of minor-degree failtanking. Minor because there were no wipes and I think the warlock only actually died once. I inspected the tank and the gear was decent. Of course the warlock was in the throes of disgust in Vent the entire time, the healer was sighing a lot as he commiserated with the warlock, the hunter was in quiet agreement, and I was just doing my job and killing things.

At the end, the tank said, "I hope I did OK." The warlock asked if he should be honest (and by "be honest", I'm pretty sure he meant "rip the tank a new one") so I suggested silence might send the message better. I was the last to leave, and just before I left the party, I got a whisper, "How did I do?"

But then it was too late, I was already out and I couldn't reply. I let myself get sucked into the snobbery of my guildies and failed to give that obviously-new tank what they really deserved, feedback that would help them get better, and I'm still kicking myself for it. Given the nature of cross-realm PUGs, I have no way of amending the situation, so I'm just going to get it off my chest here. Maybe by the magic of the internet, this little message in the bottle will get where it needs to go.

To Glor--something I forget, of Moon Guard )

The thing that really eats me about this situation is that later in Vent, the warlock and the healer were commiserating on how WoW was getting boring, they'd done everything, blah blah blah. Done everything? Had they already helped a random newbie from another server bring up their confidence and improve their skills? I know you don't get an achievement for that, but really, it's worth doing all the same.

[info]romantic_geek
Sorry for two posts in one day. I'm just...just fed up and aggravated and I am looking for a new guild.

What I am looking for:

A medium raiding, casual RP guild on Moon Guard US that hosts events (raids, meetings, etc) Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights or Thursday night after 11PM CST, OR is fine with me missing the occasional weekend event. My boyfriend lives a few towns over and we both have the weekends off, so a couple of weekends a month are generally spent together.

I am looking for a guild that is mature, because my humor can be crass. I am looking for a guild that works well together. A guild that is progressing, but is not full of elitists. A guild that takes the time to schedule RP events but doesn't get aggressive if somebody says "Not tonight, I have a headache."

What I bring to the table:

Main: Elsebeth, a disc/shadow priest whose gems are getting upgraded as soon as my Jewelcrafter sends me my cut gems back. I have healed ICC ten up to Saurfang, and ToC 10 man.

Alt: Lissandria, an arcane mage who is in the process of getting geared up. She was first dusted off about a week ago after spending almost a year benched.

Main alt: Ligeia, My baby prot/retadin. She is getting leveled with my roommate so her leveling is slowed, but she will become my main alt at 80, definitely tank specced but her dual spec is undecided.

Help me, Fury Warriors, you're my only hope...
Arthas
[info]luvboromir24601
It's me. Again. *waves*

I've traded out Arms for Fury and have only seen a slight increase in dps. I struggle to hit 6k on most fights (ones that do not require moving around - then I'm even a lot lower than that) while I hear of other Fury warriors doing 8-9k. O_o I wish to be one of them and show my guild that warrior dps can kick butt instead of lagging at the bottom of the dps meters.

So I needs some guidance from you Fury gurus!

Here is my armory:
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Alexstrasza&cn=Nimthiriel

I recently regemmed from ArP to Strength and replaced my Grim Toll with Whispering Fanged Skull although I'm not sure if that was a good idea or not.

My rotation consists of WW - BT - Slam (if procs) - BT - WW repeat with HS/Cleave as a rage dump. Also use cooldowns as much as possible.

Does anyone have _any_ advice for me? Anything? Sadly, although I don't want to if I can help it, I am about to shelve the warrior I've worked so hard on and roll a paladin since I've heard they are so much easier than warriors... although the Fury rotation is so easy that I don't understand why my dps is so damn low and wonder if I'd even do better as a Ret Pally or not if I can't master a Fury warrior. ><

Something I've wondered about: I am a partial clicker. I used to be a tank and half-button mashing/half-clicking worked absolutely fine for me. I've tried to use only keybindings as Fury but I find myself reverting back to clicking during some fights, especially the longer ones. Do you think this is contributing to my dps issues (the great clicker vs. key binder debate, I know)?

My roommate and I have been leveling a couple of toons together. She's got a warlock, I have a pally who I have been tanking with. I've posted a number of times asking for advice and tips on how to Do It Right.

We have a friend in our guild who has a shaman healer. He keeps expressing interest in playing with us, to the point that he has occasionally "whined" at us when we're playing without him (Never 100% seriously, but he mentions it and seems somewhat disgruntled when we play without him).

The problem is, we are constantly waiting for him to play catch-up. A week ago, his shaman was 61. Today, his shaman is Still 61. My roommate and I did not play our characters once during that time, despite the fact that we both REALLY want to get these toons leveled. But what can we do when we give him a week to catch up and he makes no progress whatsoever? We WANT him to level with us (having a reliable healer would rock), and he SAYS he wants to as well, but he's not seeming to make the effort to level his shaman. Any attempts at prodding on our parts result in the statement that "leveling resto is boring." He defends playing his other characters as "gaining money for dual spec", but claims outright that he has around 3k gold.

I love the boy dearly, but how do I convince him to gain some levels without busting out the cattle prod?

ETA: My roommate and I are level 66.

I got into a heroic oculus for my random on my priest this morning. It was kinda stressful because the tank insisted on killing all the blue drakes. I was getting rather frustrated by the time the run was done, but my patience paid off, finally:

I know this might be whiny. Complaining.

Maybe yowling like one of those annoying cats til someone throws a boot at me.

But... is it wrong I'm feeling suddenly ignored/unwanted by guild mates when, while for the past few months I've been running with them in ICC on the weekends... suddenly I'm sorta.. just... ignored. Overlooked? And they are taking all the new people?

Maybe I'm being too touchy. Maybe the new people do better dps then I do but..

Is it really that right to just sorta... over look me without at least telling me or flat out ignoring me?

So, I've been gearing up my not so baby priest when I can, when rl lets me. One thing I do do is my daily heroic for my lovely emblems of frost. I've got a few of these gathered up now, but I have a dilemma. What do I get first?

I'm not a raider, I've never set foot inside any of them (my server is really picky about achi's before you can enter, so pugs aren't really an option), so all I'm getting is my two a day from my heroics.

Link to armory is here.

Thoughts, suggestions? I'm open to all ideas (like 'your gems are crap'). I know my feet suck, but every time any upgrade falls, I loose the roll. I do fine healing most heroics, like anyone, as long as the group is decent.

Hit rating - Mage - Trinket Question
[info]bisparrow
So I've recently been playing my mage and gotten a lot of upgrades for her. Which have unfortunately killed her hit rating.

Here is her armory http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Shandris&cn=Phedre

My hit is fine for heorics and she doens't raid that much unfortunately. But I want to be able to pug her into raids soooo I'm working on trinkets. My question is, do you all think the Shard of the Crystal Heart which has hit raiting is worth it, AND what of my two trinkets do you think I should replace with it.

Also you'll note her pants don't have her socket bonus because they are yellow gems...and I'm wondering if I should change those ot yellow gems.

Thanks ladies!

(p.s. if any of you more knowledgeable raid mages out there see anything else I can change to up my dps let me know :) )

My boyfriend who did the quests at the same time does get them. Am I just so unlucky or is it bugged? Google didn't really show this specific issus.

Haven't been playing for a half a year... And tonight I came back. Found wonderful Dungeon Finder system (well I have known about it, I read sites and stuff even when I'm off the game).
And went with one of my alts to Utgarde Keep.
After first wipe on last boss (well we had one person in party who died just as the event has started and then he said it was his first time there) our tank left. And there started a mess. You can't invite someone in the party. You need to wait for someone to join via this system. At 3 a.m. local time it's kinda hard, you know... Tried with 4, wiped again, then healer started to whine and left as well.

Sad that first day after this half a year ended with such a mess. :(
