26th-Jul-2008 11:45 pm - Nice to Meet You
Mask
I just joined up, so I figured it would be polite to post a little introduction-thingie. But it's late and I'm lacking in creativity, so I shall use the form.

Name: Sefarad
Class: Rogue
Race: Blood Elf
Professions: Herb/Alch
Is this character your main character in WoW? Yes. But I also have a 48 holy priest named Ayeri who may take over as my main when I make it to 70. I also have assorted random low level alts, because I have alt-itis. Beware, it's catching.

Real Life

Name: Anne
Location: Madison, WI
Age: 30
A bit about me: By day, I'm a regulatory attorney for an ancient small life insurance company, which is only slightly less boring than it sounds. I'm also married to a geeky WoW-playing future med student and have two entirely lovely and above average kids, Elliot (who is two, and likes to make Sef jump in place and asks me to fly places so he can see the "puppy") and Rhys (who is 7 months and likes to eat my mouse).

I'm almost at level 21 (basically finished in Ghostlands) and was wondering, do any of you ladies need the quest [The Traitor's Destruction]? I've tried a few pug's and well, lets say I'd have had better luck trying with just myself and my pet (which I did, aha).
26th-Jul-2008 10:00 am - Current raiding needs
Kadomi
In our current Kara roster posting, there was the question if we'd soon have two Karazhan groups running. While that would be spiffy and solve our scheduling nightmares, this is currently not a possibility.

a) a lot of our mains are now starting to run their alts through Karazhan, at least on day one. To make two groups work, we need the same groups on both days.
b) the same alts are often our healer mains. We have a lot of tank alts, but basically no healer alts.
c) we're short DPS for two groups. I know, it boggles the mind!

So that's the state of things. Basically, what we need for two Karazhan groups is about 2-3 more geared healers and about the same number of geared DPS ready to dip their toes into Karazhan.

We are currently pondering the possibility of another Karazhan raid on our usual off-weekends, so that Karazhan is done more often than once a month, but we also do not want to lose our Zul'Aman momentum as we are progressing very nicely in there.

We'll keep you posted. If you have any suggestions, questions, what have you, please let us know. :)
26th-Jul-2008 12:59 am - Hello all!
Nutella
Hello ladies!

I came over with Sayy.  We were sitting here chatting and she found you guys purely by coincidence.  :D  The all female guild was something that we'd joked about ourselves, but on a low pop server like Anub, it probably wouldn't have worked very well.  I'm really glad to see that it's working phenomenally on Bronzebeard.

Like Sayy said, we're relative noobs, having only started in October and like she said before, our first guild was about 50% female and actually the new guild that we've joined, a hardcore raiding guild is about a quarter female - of those that are on regularly and raid regularly.

I can't wait to raid with you guys and hang out!  I've never been on a high pop server before so that'll be interesting too I'm sure. XD

Anyway, if you want to stop and say hi, I'll probably be on Midea - my 34 priest(ess) I'm transferring over (I just hope the name's not taken!).

you will not enjoy this, Seti
Greetings, Ladies

First, I want to say WOW this is a wonderful idea!  I randomly stumbled across this group searching LJ and I'm so excited by this concept.  My main toon is named Sabbah and she's on Anub'Arak.  She's a member of a raiding guild, and I do enjoy doing that, although I'm finding that I like the intimacy of 10mans better.  Or maybe now I should call them womans :D

My best friend (I'm sure she'll introduce herself in a moment) and I started playing wow last fall when my husband's co-workers sucked him in.  (They play icky alliance.  EWWWWW).  But Mar and I quickly found that we preferred Horde and struck out on our own.  Ironically, the guild we joined on Anub was a husband and wife team, and had a large number of women (in fact, i think it was about a 50/50 balance for most of our time playing with them.  But a baby came, though, and the guild mostly broke apart.  Thus we struck out again and started raiding.

At the moment, I'm going to transfer my 31 lock over (and can't stand the thought of leveling another toon from scratch) and may end up moving more.

Regardless, I'll repost when I get her moved.  I just want to say WOW what an AWESOME idea!.

hugs

(EDIT:  my transfer is complete.  Her name is Sabbah, too :D)
25th-Jul-2008 09:33 am - Anyone interested in Gruuls/Mags tonight?
WoW anti-productivity
Hi ladies!

Tonight is one of the regular raid nights for Relentless Few, the raiding guild I have Inaara in. But we're down enough people tonight that we can't manage the Black Temple raid that we had originally intended to do. So the guild leader has decided to put together a Gruuls/Magtheridon run instead. But we've only actually got 21 signups, so I asked if it would be possible for me to post here and see if any DotHies would be interested in coming along to fill those extra spots, and Arche, the GL/RL, said yes!

So, if there is anyone in DotH who is in T4 level gear and would be interested in running Gruuls/Magtheridon tonight with Relentless Few, please respond here and I will pass names on to Arche. Here are the guidelines he's stated there will be for tonight's raid, which starts at 7:30 server time.

- Loot will be randomed except the Dragonspine Trophy off Gruul which is reserved for RF members. No rules on who can roll for what (everyone is expected to be sensible), but limit is one item per person unless an item would otherwise rot.
- Number of spots available is approximately five, with a mix of roles. We won't know for certain until raid time.
- Please be online and ready to go with consumables etc. at 7:15 (and as a personal aside, I would be happy to help out with food and mana/wizard oil consumables for anyone who comes along)
- No guarantees that a) there'll be a spot for any given person and b) that the run will happen at all. Chances are good for both, though.
