Help! I'm 70! Now what?
Okay.  So those of you who missed my going nuts in /g, Naitha hit 70 today (!!!).  Erm--now what do I do?  I have my basic flier and about 200g towards my epic (which isn't a lot).  Now what do I do?  This is my first level 70, so I have no idea what I'm doing.  A big thanks to those of you who offered to show me around dailies--it's much appreciated!

I have Valanos's Longbow sitting on my bank alt, I just haven't equipped it yet.  And I was too excited to spend my last talent point xD but it's going in the 41-point BM talent of my lovely cookie-cutter build. 

Here's what I want to know:

What instances should I run?  What gear upgrades should I shoot for?  How does my spec look?  What I really want is a 'goal'--i.e. get this many of this stat and then run this instance, etc.  I do well with goals.  Now that I've hit 70 and my main goal (leveling) has gone kapoof, I need a new one.  I need to level up mining and enchanting, which I will do when the shininess has worn off and I'm not so sick of running in circles around the Badlands hunting mithril.

ETA:  I just finished reading the wonderful guide to being a 70 here--I have it bookmarked!

As I said in guildchat, Greta will definitly do some SSO island dailies with you. It helped me so much to do it with friends a bunch of times.

When I first turned 70, I got some AWESOME advice here that mostly likely applies to you too. (I'm also BM/mm spec)

the stuff I worked on first:

helm: stalkers helmet of second sight
its from a questline that is annoying but this helm is soooo worth it

neck: natasha's choker
another quest reward. i did the whole line in just a couple hours with niria one day.

shoulders and hands: beast lord set for trapping bonus. those are instance drops.

chest, bracers and belt: felstalker set to initially get your hit rating up. the felstalker bracers will be good to keep for quite a long time. the others you'll replace. I'm a leather worker and can make these for you if you send me some mats. (I can get leathers but you'll need to send primals/etc)

weapon: the sonic spear is what every hunter wants. its an instance drop.

bow: equip your valanos and be sure to get a scope.
(speaking of which, I still need a scope for my new bow)

also, if you haven't already, you may want to check out some info on shot rotations and chain trapping for uber dps. Pike writes great guides and most of the ones that are essential are linked on her sidebar.

thats my most recent hunter gear post, which is mostly gear you'll get later... like after the initial set of gear from the other posts. but might be good to save the link for a couple months down the road.

and as for spec, I think it makes sense to keep endurance and thick hide while you are still soloing a lot. i found after few months of getting gear and making money, i now hardly ever solo and mostly only play in instances and raids, so i'm going to be dropping those from my spec soon. and picking up some of the talents recommended in that post.
