Behind the cut you'll find screenshots of three creatively named characters from my realm, Nordrassil (EU).
No sideshots I'm afraid, mostly for the reason that I have the whole "show name above player" option disabled by default, and two of my victims were already dead. I regret to say I was too slow to get a picture of the Undead Warrior called Omgwtfpwn I saw in Durotar a few days ago.

Sorry fans, but guess whose corpse I found lying by the road in Westfall. :(

However, at times the number of changes to the game at once can be exasperating, daunting, and other words that are used to define something that is really, really, really difficult to read. So, we here at Something Awful have decided to hunker down, and summarized the entire 1.9.0 patch notes that will go live shortly. The Gates of Ahn'Qiraj
The Gates of Ahn'Qiraj will house two massive, unique dungeons – one consisting of a bunch of desert and insects outdoors for 20 people, and one consisting of a bunch of desert and insects indoors, for 40 people. Players from both Horde and Alliance factions will need to work together to unlock the 40 man dungeon in a massive World Event. Due to terrible population balance on many servers, some players may need to work individually on transferring their characters, in a Massive World Exodus.

In addition, all bug testing on the 40 man AQ will be done at a later date. We are expecting players to do this for us sometime next week.

Linked Auction Houses
We’ve essentially created a reason for players to hang out in Stormwind, instead of Ironforge. Players of the Horde Faction are still encouraged to stay in Orgrimmar for convenience sake; however the Forsaken will have an easier time buying and selling items. There is still no practical reason to be in Darnassus, at all, ever. This is working as intended. In addition, the "Looking for Group" and "Trade" channels have been unified among the corresponding cities, meaning, for example, that you can spam “WTS [Six OF Portals] 50g”, or call people faggot hippy ninjas for kicking you from their group in Ironforge while in Stormwind.

Multiple Battleground Queues
Players will be able to enter multiple battleground queues. No longer must you make the hard decision of which queue to join -- when queued for all three, you can join the first one available or hold out for Arathi Basin. Because honestly, Arathi Basin is all you want to play in the first place. It’s not like anyone plays Warsong Gulch at level 60, anyways.

Soul Shard Bags
We’ve removed one more thing that Warlocks complain about. We are excited to see what they come up with next on the forums. The soul-shard bags also bring the number of valuable things a Tailor can craft to six (five if you are not raiding Molten Core for the recipe.).

Raid Calendar System
The raid-lockout system has undergone a significant change. The new system has been designed to make scheduling end-game content even more difficult than before. We’ve also managed to make it more difficult for a Guild’s newer players to have a chance to raid, in light of the fact that we would like to see more of you going outside, and getting some fresh air. All resets will occur during Oceania’s peak hours of game play, because from what we understand Australia is full of assholes.

Important Note for Mac OS X Users!!!
This patch is going to be a real doozy. We at Blizzard think we’ve outdone ourselves this time, in our attempts to render World of Warcraft unplayable for Mac users. Chances are you nerds will figure something out, but let’s just say a compatible version of the expansion pack is going to be delayed until we feel it’s up to our stringent standards.

General

All Disorient effects have been renamed Incapacitate effects. This includes Gouge, Sap, etc.
All Confusion effects have been renamed Disorient effects. This includes Blind, Scatter Shot, etc.
All Rogue effects are now called Confusion effects. This includes all Disorient and Incapacitate effects.
All Confusion effects are really vaguely defined. This includes all of the above.

PvP

Several civilian NPCs, who previously would assist non-civilians, will no longer do so. All PCs will continue to watch you get fucking murdered by that guy, however.

Druids

Bear and Dire Bear form – Relax, you guys still tank better than a Paladin. We had to adjust some armor values so Warriors would tone down the bitching, but you know you woodland dudes are our #1 niggas.
Omen of Clarity – We’ve made this talent a helluva lot better. This spell now works correctly with Bash, Rip, Ferocious Bite, and Demoralizing Roar, granting a decrease in the cost of the ability. The rogues are going to be furious on how good this is.
Improved Starfire - Why on earth would you put points in Improved Starfire?

Hunters

Bestial Wrath – Relax, all cloth casters are still properly fucked if you use this. We toned down the damage a little, but in lieu we’ve made it so a Mage can’t even Ice Block his way out of the damage.
No, you can’t make food or water yet.
Pet Changes:

Turtles are still worthless, but they can eat fish! Stick to using a bear.
Hunters can now tame Sons of Hakkar. Sons of Hakkar are in the Wind Serpent family and are as annoying as hell for your group members.
Boars can now learn Charge, an ability that allows them to charge to an enemy, immobilize that enemy for 1 second, and give mages another reason to complain about Hunters.
Gorillas can now learn Thunderstomp, an ability that’s just as bad as Thunderclap.

Mages

You guys are still basically fucked when it comes to class balance. However, please enjoy the ability to make waters 10 at a time!
Fixed a bug with the casting of Arcane Missiles.

Priests

Martyrdom - This talent will now trigger on melee special abilities as well as on melee swings. Now, after being ambushed for 3000 damage, you have 8 seconds of casting that damage cannot interrupted.
Mind Blast - Threat raised on ranks 7, 8, and 9. Don’t let this stop you from dropping into Shadowform during instances.
Paladins are now sufficiently motivated to roll on your gear drops, now that we have completely removed all itemization for them. We just figured that we should warn you.

Rogues

Mace Specialization – Why on earth would you put points in Mace Specialization?
Decreased range bonus from "Improved Throwing Specialization" to account for modifications made to Trolls.

Shamans

Did you guys see what we did to Paladins? If you guys keep up your complaints about aggro management and unrefined talent trees, we will be forced to enact such changes on you as well. This is your only warning.

Warlocks

Infernal and Doomguard – Still not worth it, even if they were free to summon.
Hellfire - Victims of Hellfire are now able to resist properly. Hope your raid has enough mages & hunters to AOE Lava Pack Hounds.
Curse of Shadow and Curse of the Elements - These curses can no longer cause resistance to become negative. Now instead of shooting 3000 damage Shadowbolts, a warlock will fire off 2000 damage Shadowbolts.
Summon Felsteed & Summon Dreadsteed- Still cost mana.
You guys are now really good at PvP and PvE. Refer to Shaman patch notes for details.

Warriors

Bloodthirst – Fury warriors are still a joke. Bloodthirst damage has been increased to 45%, which is even more hilarious.
Warriors will be enraged about this change 5/10/15/20/25% more often then those happy with the Bloodthirst change.

Paladins

Due to significant talent changes, all Paladins' talent points will be refunded and can be respent. Don’t even bother with the Retribution tree however.
Paladins can now learn Greater Blessings, which will cast the associated blessing on all raid members that share the same class as the target. The 15 minute duration isn’t a really big improvement, and we were sure to add a cash cost to each time you cast the spell. Be thankful we didn’t remove blessings altogether.
Holy Strike – Ahahahahaha, you actually thought for a second we are going to give this back to you. Roll a warrior already!
Seals and Judgements – This mostly worthless combat system is still in the game. Judgements that place a debuff on their victim will auto-trigger a /laugh or /sigh emote from the effected target, while the Paladin swings wildly to keep it on the target. Judgements that place debuffs can no longer be resisted, which we intend to fix in a later patch.
Seal of Righteousness - Now does pathetic holy damage on every swing.
Judgement of the Crusader - The holy damage bonus has been decreased as part of rebalancing paladin damage, which by “rebalancing” we mean “decreasing more”.
Seal of Command - The proc will occur more often, like Windfury, but will only do 70% of weapon-swing damage, unlike the 225% damage like Windfury.
Vengeance - Special ability critical hits can now trigger Vengeance. However, if you think we are going to make this ability worthwhile again you seriously need to relook at the new talent tree.
Paladins now randomly lose XP at inopportune moments, thanks to the new "Tithe" system.
All Seals and Judgements have had their bonus coefficient from plus spell damage re-evaluated. Some holy damage effects had no coefficient before and now have a coefficient. So now, 10 damage per hit can be 13 damage per hit. We spoil you.
Summon Warhorse Summon Charger – Still cost mana. Can now be dispelled.
Judgement of Wisdom – Made this more difficult to use in raid encounters.
Exorcism & Holy Wrath - Now usable on Demon targets in addition to Undead targets. Damage reduced accordingly.
Hammer of Wrath - Missile speed of the flying hammer & mana cost of a worthwhile spell increased.
Divine Protection, Divine Shield and Blessing of Protection - Targets of these spells will now receive the "Recently Shielded" effect, preventing players from using their Hearthstones every minute.
New Spell: Righteous Fury (level 16) - Increases the threat generated by the Paladin's Holy attacks by 100%. Lasts 30 minutes. Duration the Paladin can hold aggro has been increased from 6 to 8 seconds.
Due to extensive feedback from Players, we’ve deleted the Paladin forums. All posts that concern Paladins in the other forums will be treated as moderator/developer sass, and the poster will be banned.

Racial Traits - Trolls

Troll Berserking
- Is now triggered off any critical hit on you, including spells and ranged attacks.
- Now more frequently triggers unpleasant memories of the character creation screen – at least Will of the Forsaken isn’t as good as it used to be.
Throwing Mastery
- Trolls now also receive a bonus to Bow weapons in addition to Throwing weapons. We apologize in advance to the hunters who spent time and resources in game building a viable Throwing Spec.

Racial Traits - Orcs

Hardiness
- Rogues can now realistically kill orcs.

Racial Traits - Gnomes

Escape Artist
- Still not instant speed, for some crazy reason we haven't bothered to explain.
- Probably won't work for certain types of root, as it has every patch we've ever tampered with it.

Racial Traits - Dwarves

Stoneform
- No longer snares the user.
- I wonder if anyone reads this far into the patch notes.
- Worgen are the next Alliance Race.
- No, they seriously are. Caydiem has been hinting this for months.
- Do people use this even use this talent?

Items

All of the Tier 2 Class Armor sets have been updated with new art we've stolen from one of Seth McFarlane's understudies.
Many of the pieces from the Tier 2 Armor sets have received updated statistics. The armor sets with the most extensive changes include the Netherwind, Nemesis, and Judgement sets. We've added 3 stamina to the rest of them.
Drop rates of Darkmoon Cards 2-8 (Portals 2-8, etc..) have been reduced. Ace drop rates have been increased. If you thought you've seen a lot of Ace of Warlords offered in the AH as of recent, let's just say that you haven't seen anything yet.
The enchanter-made wands are now correctly flagged as "Worthless".
Winterfall Furbolgs will not drop Winterfall Firewater as often. However, the Winterfall Furbolg Gaming Reservation will still offer the best slots and video poker in all of Kalimdor.
All Giants in Azshara now drop cash and items appropriate for an elite creature. Now hunters and rogues can conveniently farm on the same map, and keep each other company.
The Fiery War Axe is now in fact, Fiery.
The Tauren Icebreaker is now in fact, a Tauren.
The Pure Elementium Band now has a sell price. It will also automatically /gquit upon vendoring.
Blue Dragon Card - This trinket will no longer proc from non-combat abilities, such as Detect Minerals, opening doors, or going afk.

Professions

Epic items that are level 51 and above will now disenchant into a Nexus Crystal. As if there wasn't enough drama already related to Epic drops.
Enchanters can now turn some of their dusts and shards into magical oils. We've finally found a way to make Vision Dust useful!
Schools of fish have appeared around the world, which players can attend to gain a greater understanding, to the murky deeps.
The enchanter-made wands are now correctly flagged as "Worthless".
Engineers with skill 250 or greater, who have completed Umi Rumplesnicker's 'Are We There Yeti?' quest line, should seek her out again in Everlook. Booty call.

Quests & Reputation

The Timbermaw Furbolgs are now our latest addition to stupid organizations of NPCs you have to grind faction for!
All the assholes who decided to kill the Timbermaw in the tunnel between Felwood and Winterspring are going to be extremely pissed.
Reputation is now its own category in the chat window; you can change the color of your complaints to other guild members of how lame this idea of an End Game Blizzard has implemented.
Fixed typos in both quest versions of "All Along the Watchtower".
Fixed typos in both quest versions of "Lessons Anew".
Fixed typo in both quest versions of "Nigers must perish!".
The cleansed plants of Felwood have been modified: There is no longer a gossip option to interact with them. If you still wish to talk to them, however, you might receive more items from them. We also suggest playing rock music to Whipper Root plants.
Baron Revilgaz now should be a little more vociferous.
Princess Theradras should be a little more slutty.
