Almost!

Less that 10% away from hitting the final stretch of levels. Yep, 60 is within reach!

But I did it a way some people would be tilting their heads and going wtf.

I have yet to hit Outlands, because I've been having fun in Hearthglen. Yep, I said it. But before you jump on me on how the exp and gold aren't worth it there, lemme tell you the fun I've been having:

- Managed to snag an Orb of Deception and make 700g off it on the AH
- TONS of Rich Thorium and making BANK with this on my server
- XP/hr is amazing when on this PvP server, not a soul comes up here so it's like my own personal location
- In a couple hours last night, grinded Lv 58 completely and 80% of my way to 60, AoE grinding woot

So yar, any other people enjoy hanging in Azeroth just a little longer quite fun? :D

Note: Sorry I missed the Screenshot post this week, mega busy! I'll have one next Monday for sure.

Fun in Hearthglen? Oh wow. I admire your fortitude - the Plaguelands just creep me out. I raced to Outland at 58 just to get out of there. ^.~

Seriously though, Hellfire will be so much easier going in at 60. Those mobs hit hard, aggro and respawn can be insane, and it doesn't hurt to have a couple of levels on them! =)

Hearthglen is full of non-elites now, save the one patrolling boss and the ones inside.

It's not the elites so much as the zone in general - undead zones have been a long-time video game squick for me, and if I look down and see the ground breathing, I get a little freaked out. :3 My main leveled through her 50s there, but I have a feeling my alts may be going for Winterspring and someplace that's not Duskwood, partially for something new, and partially to avoid worgen and undead. :D

Oh, I'm with ya on doing the Plaguelands quests - especially the ones where you have to sabotage the plague cauldrons at all the farms - that must be half a level right there. Plus, you can equip yourself with AH Outland gear, whuch makes the zone even easier. I didn't go to Outland until I was 60 and had finished grinding out the last two pieces of the epic PvP set (Horde on Ruin battlegroup were awesome in the 60 bracket) and it definitely helped in the starting zones.

I stuck around the plaguelands, too, and even came back as a 70 to finish off a lot of the quests that had interested me. Specifically, Trion Fordring's quests, the whole Redpath family quest, the Scholomance key quest -- and a bunch of others. I'm a nerd for storyline, what can I say.

I stuck around the Plaguelands until 62 with my hunter - I *love* the quests out there, and I fully intend to go back when I'm 70 to pick up the ones I didn't finish.

I love Plaguelands. Not because of xp or thorium, or runecloth avalanche, but I just love the zones. They are so creepy and lore-rich. I've never really hung out in Hearthglen, but I farmed mobs in one of those 'pockets' in Eastern Plagueland that have a bunch of undead in them, ziggurats, and a couple of rich thorium veins.

To be honest, lately I've been spending more and more time in the old world. Yes, Outland is the land of money and all that jazz, but I think I am feeling somewhat nostalgic. I was excited when they said that WotLK will have more of an old world feeling and lore associated with it, complete with murlocs, scarlet crusade, worgen, etc.

I love the Plaguelands - the whole Scourge (etc.) storyline is probably my favourite element of lore, and the more I read the more I love it! I still solo Strat regularly on my 70 hunter main for the same reasons. I think I'll be moving my 54 priest out that way this weekend, too!

Where did you get your Orb from? World drop? I know that the best chance is to kill Skarr in the Dire Maul arena.

I did 56 and 57 in the Plaguelands, but I wouldn't describe it as fun =P

Doing Hellfire and Outland quests at 60 instead of 58 should help you level a lot faster. I went in at 58, and now I'm 67.4 and in Netherstorm because I ran out of quests

its not about exp or leveling though, its about enjoying the game you play.

I didn't get to outlands until I was 63 because like the OP I was enjoying myself playing the old world quests.

Just the Scarlet Workers, melee mobs that only sunder are great sources of exp, money and drops, and it dropped from a Lv 58 Scarlet Worker. Since the patch a lot of the mobs up there are non-elite.

I agree! I tend to do grey quests because I like them. Screw the XP. Granted, it makes me the world's slowest leveller, but hey. My $15, my game. The next toon that gets to Plaguelands levels will go there, I think. I did like the area.

I stayed in EPL all the way to level 62 and I loved it. It's a great zone with a great storyline, two of the most fun instances in the game, and lots of neat goodies to pick up. I ground to Exalted with Argent Dawn and got the Talisman of Ascendance and that little trinket has served me quite well. I only replaced it very recently.

I don't have fun on Hellfire Pennisula at 58. It's not fun at all. If you go in a few levels higher, however, it's just right.

At 58, I started putting on Outlands greens from the AH and annihilating WPL and EPL. The Cauldron quests were so easy, and at friendly with AD, you can turn in 30 each of DI Scraps, Savage Fronds, Cores of Elements, Bone Fragments, and Crypt Fiend Parts (all of which are relatively cheap on the AH) for 9550 experience per quest, and turn in your first batch of Minion's Scourgestones for a token and give that to the Rooster for another easy 4750 experience. That's over 50k xp for no real effort.

Also, once you hit 60 and finish up the easy quest lines (I also went to Silithus to get the recipe for the Sandworm meat so I could have 300 cooking), I went to outland and didn't have to struggle to get those quests done. I've done HPF starting at 58, and the extra aggro radius and the extra difficulty of fighting +2- or +3-level mobs is not worth it. I was getting around 50-70k/hr in Azeroth and about the same when I started Outlands. I've topped 100k/hr in Zangarmarsh at 62. ^_^
