Hey guys
Hey guys.
While I wait for curse.co to come back on line so I can update my add-ons, I dl'ed wowmatrix. It looks kinda interesting- not only does it keep your add-ons updated, but it can export your list of add-ons. Of course, the main add-ons weren't available yet due to overload. But it seems that over the course of a year, I dl'ed over 200 add-ons. Most are disabled and a vast majority that are enabled are parts of Quartz, FuBar and Cartographer.

I was wondering, if anyone cares to, if you can look at my list and give me your feedback- what works- whats better then what i have, what's redundant, etc.
I really do appreciate it.

After a quick glance this is what I notice:

Itemrack

These all do the same thing, so pick one and ditch the others.

You don't have TitanBars. *delete*

Unless there are functions I don't remember this can all be done through the interface menu now.

I got rid of Archaeologist when it started giving me a ton of errors. I really only had it so I had a visual on class, so ag_unitframes and pitbull were a better option for me.

I'm not at home, so I can't remember exactly what I have, but I'd recommend BigWigs for a boss mod. You can also get LittleWigs which works in the nonraid instances, so it's useful for everyone. Recount USED to work better than DamageMeter, as it ran off the combat log and was therefore more accurate. As of last night it was being iffy, so you may need to wait for it to be updated to work with 2.4.

Are any of your addons ones you love and can't live without? I'm always looking for new ones :)

It's an amazing leveling tool.

Its kinda like a built in strategy guide that runs you through the best and easiest quests to solo.

I'm not sure, I don't BG much. I bet if you looked the mods up on Wowace or Curse the summmary would tell you.

Pretty sure LittleWigs does. If it doesn't, capping (another ACE mod) definitely does.

I've never used most of these, but wow, that does seem kinda bloated.

I'm pretty sure that these are redundant (could be wrong):

Cartographer
Alphamap (?)

I think Bugsack and Swatter are both debugging/error handling mods?

you also seem to have quite a few wardrobe mods but I don't know how much overlap there is between them (Itemrack, outfitter, wardrobe, wearme (?)

Im not actually sure what the difference is between bugsack and swatter. I think they came in a package.
Not sure which to uninstall of if I need either.

I usually use atlas, but Ive been told that cartographer is better- and I cant remember why.

I haven't used Atlas in a long time, so I don't remember what the features were, exactly. What I like about Cartographer is ease of use, the ability for guildmates who also use cartographer to show up on the map, and the additional options of tracking certain things, like herb/mining nodes. (There are several more, but herbalism and mining are the only ones I use anymore.)

I don't remember where swatter came from, either. Probably a canned UI I tried around the time BC came out :D

It might be worthwhile to start over. Delete everything in your Addons folder (or make a copy), delete or make a copy of your WTF. Make a list of what you want addons for, this helps me narrow my searches down on wowace or wowinterface. I always end up with a few more than I was planning on, but you can't always think of everything in advance :P

Double check it, but BugGrabber and Swatter may do the same thing.

No not really .. they do similar things but not exactly the same

They both report more information about errors that come up the difference being Swatter is what the Auctioneer team use to report errors and prefer you to use to report errors. I think they also take Bug grabber error reports but I think Swatter is what they prefer to use.

I believe FluidFrames and MoveAnything have basically the same functionality. You might be able to drop one of them if you're not using 'em both for different features.

For instance, and with reference to above... I use both Atlas and Cartographer. Cartographer replaces my world map, lets me track guild members, etc. Atlas is there simply for instance entrances (I get lost a lot) and flight paths. If I could get all the functions I want in just one I'd drop the other, but for now I stick with the two.

That said, you might also be able to get rid of MapNotes, since Cartographer has notes built in.

If you've had a mod disabled for so long you can't recall when or why you disabled it, I'd delete it.
You can always reinstall it if you need to.

I learned my lesson when patch 1.3 broke all my addons.
I try to use a few small addons so that in the event they stop working I can still play with minimal disruptions.

Personally I'm a little concerned over the fact the WowMatrix will just go out and download the latest versions of addons not necessarily ones that have been updated for the new patch.

Example it lists AdvancedTradeSkillWindow as updated when it hasn't actually been updated in 3-4 months (yes I have updated it but still ...)
