Does anybody else cringe and die a little when they hear a guildie say in gchat "so i was in wsg today..." when their level ends in a 4 or 5?

Why can't people simply  wait until they are a few levels higher before going in? Am I the only one that feels that having a lvl 33 toon in AB is going to 1) draw it out, 2) increase your team's odds of losing, and 3) screw over a lvl 39 that wants to get in?

"but i is lvl 40 now! i kan use teh lvl40 trinket!!!"
then you should have saved up tokens while you were 39

Not really, no. Blizzard intended the PVP level system to be like that for a reason. I've seen people 2 and 3 levels lower than someone else utterly whoop their ass. It's also not really my place to dictate how people should be enjoying their game. I went into PVP sessions at odd number levels because I wanted the honor.

If it bothers you that much, perhaps you should wait until 70 when everyone will be the same level.

Not everybody is into twinking, or winning for that matter, sometimes they just want a change from the regular quest/instance grinding. Or at least that is my opinion.

No. The brackets are x0-x9. If levels x0-x8 weren't supposed to be in battlegrounds, they wouldn't be allowed to queue. I don't see what's wrong with people wanting to farm tokens/honor at any time.

As the previous poster said, why don't you wait until level 70 to do battlegrounds? Then everyone on your team will be equal level.

Honestly? No. It's just a game, and if they want to go in at level 34 or level 35, really they aren't hurting anyone.

My boyfriend hates it when players below *8 or *9 are in a BG. Personally, I don't do brackets until at least *7 if for no other reason than ability to compete. I mean, if I want to fight orange and red players I'll go join AV at 51 or 61. >_>

They have every right to be there. Personally, I applaud them, because they invariably get abused and harassed by other players, and IMHO it takes a lot of guts to go in knowing that people will be acting badly towards you.

I had a guy giving my druid a healthy ration of crap for being 33 in WSG a couple of months back. We ended up winning and my druid carried the flag once and was top healer.

Sorry. I don't care if a *1 is in my bg, and I'll go into my bg as a *1. We're all paying the same $15, and sometimes grinding gets dull.

Honestly, I've never been harassed for being lower level in a bg... although I've seen others do it when I was at level... and defended them. :)

If someone is complaining about constantly being killed and not having fun because they're lower level than all the twinks in there, then I'd tell them to stay out until they're higher up.

If they want to go in and deal with the jerks that are going to rag on them because they're taking spots away from deserving *9s, I say more power to them.

It only increases the chance of a loss if the other side is composed entirely of *9 level players, which is unlikely unless it's a premade - both sides are equally likely to have the non-*9 level toons who want to join, in theory. Level *9 PvPers aren't somehow more entitled to go into a BG than any other level - it's got a strategic advantage, yes, and I tended to wait till *8 or *9 to go in because I got tired of getting ganked by the bigger players.. but some people don't want to play like that. Some of them just want the honour, as has been mentioned - I know some people who like the challenge to their skills/the practice that fighting a higher level toon offers, as well.

No, I don't really have a problem with it. The only time I get annoyed is when it's an overwhelming number of people below *6, and they can hardly help that they all queued and got into the same BG. Personally I wait until *6 or *7 if not *8.

I really hope you're only doing BGs with full S3, and grinding honour by world PVP. Otherwise you're just 1) drawing it out, 2) increasing your team's odds of losing, and 3) screwing over a full S3 player who wants to get in.

Nope, and really that lvl 39 that wants to get in will get into the next one. That lower level could also just keep watch over a node and alert the rest of the group that someone is inc; even one *9 can't hold it by themselves if there's more than a few coming in.

You can save up tokens and honor when you want to not when someone else thinks you should. It's not anyone's place to say "you can't be here because you aren't a *9."

1) A level 33 toon is going to have a lot less effect than a level 39 hiding with the flag.

2) With the matching system, this is less of a problem. I admit it's still a problem, but most of the WSGs I've been in, one lower-level person is not going to tilt the balance radically one way or the other. And if there are several, you're likely going to be up against some undergeared players anyway, and you should have a chance.

3) So the level 39 takes the next BG that pops. I suppose if you're in a sucky battlegroup, that could take a while, but since both people are paying their 15/month, they both have a right to play the same content. It's hardly going to kill someone to wait a little bit longer to get into a battle.

In summary, I don't see the problem.

Since you're referring specifically to players whose level ends in 4 or 5, I honestly don't think being 4 or 5 levels lower is a *massive* handicap. (Entering the 61-69 as a freshly dinged 61 is a slightly different story...)

Successfully won BGs are mostly down to understanding of the game, co-operation, communication and the ability to play to attrition and the 'numbers game' that each BG essentially boils down to. If a player is low-level compared to the others in the BG but can still contribute, communicate, and support their comrades then they justify their place.

I can understand what you are saying, but suggesting that players whose level ends in 9 have more of a "right" to be in that particular BG is rather unfair.

Not unless they suck. My boyfriend starts going in at *5-*6 and gets tons of crap for it, but usually ends up doing better than at least a couple of the *8 or *9's doing the trash talking. It's not like there's any guarantee the *9 whose spot he's taking would have been worth anything to the team anyways.

My wife's hunter was crushing people in the 6x battlegrounds as early as level 66. She was leading nearly every BG she entered in HKs, killing blows, and damage.

Should she not have done that?

Deal.

I don't know. I'll defend the right for other people who are "too low" for a battleground to be able to queue, but I don't have to like it when they do :) I'll take a well-played *5 over a crappy twink any day, but unfortunately most people who go into battlegrounds, no matter their level, kind of just suck!

(I don't really care about AV, almost every game has some low level people and I don't really notice / care / pay attention, I just like to pick them off when I see them on the other team. It matters a lot more in WSG and AB.)

Being in a game against a whole team of *8 and *9s when your team has a bunch of *4s and *5s sucks though. There's just no chance of winning when the other team can 3-shot any of your members. WTB twinks their own brackets? :P

(Randomly, going into WSG on my 19 priest during Valentine's was great... I so much health with all the buffs, and I had a twink rogue trying (and failing) to kill me for the whole battleground, even though my character's gear was pretty shit :P)

I personally dont go in till middle of the level range...normally. but i dont begrudge anyone that comes in. if your team loses then i SERIOUSLY doubt its because there was a level x2 in the BG.

i dont like twinks, we had someone in our guild create one and i petitioned to have them kicked out. if i'm 28 and want to do a BG, its a complete waste of time since all i'll do is die to some dumb rogue.../shrug now i wait till 55+ to do much BG's at all.
