They grow up so fast....
My mother and stepfather (both in their 60's agewise, 40's toonwise), asked me to take them into Zul'Farrak last night.  I was antsy about doing it, but I've been busy in Outland and wanted to give them a chance.  Last time I had run with them was Deadmines with a level-appropriate toon, and my Stepfather inadvetently did a Leeroy Jenkins impersonation repeatedly, and paying absolutely no attention to the chat window.

This time it was just the three of us: my Stepfather's Pally (44) and my Mother's Priest (newly-dinged 40).  I took my 70 Warlock, using my Voidwalker as a tank.

We cleared to and beat Gahz'rilla before stopping for the night.  I'm soooo proud.  They did great - followed the "lucky charms" and stayed back when asked to.  We even had seven+ adds at once in a bad pull, and my mother's priest went down.  Even though I was draining life like mad it wasn't quite enough and I was about to die - when all of a sudden I got a heal out of nowhere and to my shock, my Stepfather's Pally was still alive - and had enough mana and time to think to toss a little heal on.  We survived!

I'm happy.

For some odd reason, stories with parents playing WoW with their kids like this bring a smile to my face.

I think that's really cool.

I'm kinda trying to get a ladyfriend hooked on the game...

My wife recently changed from playing occasionally (I think partially to humour me) to wanting to play more often then I do. In her case, the solution was a Gnome Fury Warrior.

Giving her a pair of axes and telling her to go in and beat the stuffing out of everything (I'm tanking as a Protection Paladin for her) as a 3 foot tall pig-tailed girl massively increased the fun factor for her. We started the characters up around christmas and are level 40 now.

Not saying that will work in your case as well as it did in mine, but if you're trying to get someone into the game its important to figure out what they enjoy doing and give them a chance to do it as often as possible.

It's always nice to be able to share your hobby with friends and family that you see in Real life, and even moreso when they genuinely enjoy it. It's cool to have an extra topic to discuss with them when you see them, or to watch a father discuss one of those 'no kidding, there I was' stories with all the gusto usually applied to a fishing tale.

Heh, very nice.

My mom has beat all 3 Halos. I'm wondering if it's time to introduce her to something a bit more complex..

my 8 year old son does that all the time. 'lookie over here, AHHHHH THERE'S 10 GUYS ONE ME!!!!!!!'

my usual tactic is to run in and AE fear. then start seed of corrupting them all. once one goes off they all usually die. especially in ZF. some of the higher dungeons takes some finesse, but ZF is pretty simple. we clear all the bosses in there in about 20-30 mins. depending on how aggressive i am with pulls.

Lol, awesome!

My kids and the kids of some friends all started wow in recent months and the next thing I knew one of my alts is the leader of a kids guild full of hunters! They have the will to instance on their own and keep trying, but all hunters?! It's a good thing they don't mind wiping so much! I think I need to start encouraging tank and healy alts though because I can only run them through myself so many times ;)
