Battlegrounds has never been so much fun! XD

Yesterday, I did some AV with some guildies, just to try out the report system.

Instead of being one-sided, the games were as if it was battleground weekend, almost everyone fighting for honor. The people in the AFKave were still there, but marked as "inactive." I'm not sure if they get ported out of the game, and deemed as a Deserter, for a certain amont of time that the de-buff is on them since I don't check the map on a regular basis, but when I do see someone that appears to be AFK, just right-click on their little dot on the map and "Report AFK."

I do believe that Lt. Jean Rasczak, played by actor Michael Ironside, in the 1997 movie Starship Troopers, (or Razak Ironsides at Toshley's Station in case one has not seen the Starship Troopers film) said it best when he said: "everybody fights, no one quits" and "You don't do your job, I will shoot you myself."

Though curiosity piqies me... Who this Snivle character and why does he have control over Coldtooth Mine before the AV match starts? To be honest, I don't even know where the Coldtooth Mine is since all I do is follow the raid group to the Iceblood Garrison ► Iceblood Graveyard ► Frostwolf Graveyard ► Frostwolf Keep. It's just that I seem to always see, prior to the game starting, Snivle yelling that he's got claim over that mine.

Each side has a mine near their base. The alliance once is pretty much due north from the bridge into the base. Snivle and a mirroring mob in the horde base are named mobs that spawn at the beginning of the match and respawn after an hour (I think, which is rarely relevant anymore as they don't go that long). Ganking the Snivle will give your side control of the mine and spawn a Friendly NPC who becomes the new leader of the mine. Once controlled the mine can be ransacked for a supply quest that will eventually spawn a wave of NPCs troops.

The same can be done in the enemy's mine, and supplies from there are worth more to the supply quest.

With the ... streamlining of AV matches the mines and supply quests are one of the parts of the BG that don't see use all that often anymore.

Which is why I never PvP any more. This was the most fun part of the BG for me before the MEGA NURFF of AV. I loved the PvE aspect of the PvP battles. I loved equipping the NPCs, loved getting the flight formations going. No one even bothers with it anymore.

Sad.

I think you're the first alliance I've seen actually saying their having fun in AV since the patch went live. Most of the posts on the WoW forums regarding AV are either whining alliance or gloating horde. I was shocked to have won 9 in a row on Horde side, felt like Christmas all over again.

Wow I might actually be able to get my AV mount then. I think it's time to return!

I guess I was lucky 'cause I won six rounds in a row that day. Okay, it doesn't compare to your nine, but it was still quite surprising actually getting a chance to rip Far Seer Drek'Thar to shreds six times in a row.
