apparently 6+, though i wonder whether there's decay of offenses over time...

i'm up to two warnings for "inappropriate language." the first time i told someone to fuck off after he tried to ninja a vein. the second time i called someone "slut" (the character's name was "slutastic"). i didn't call this person "a slut," mind you. just "slut," as in short for "slutastic." he reported me and i got a warning from blizzard.

Can the people who were offended enough to report your inappropriate language not just turn the language filter back on?

In answer to your question, I have no idea. One of my friends gets a warning almost weekly and he never seems to get banned.

I don't get how they can do that at all... why the hell did they add a profanity filter in the first place? (Modifying swearing to get around filters, sure I can see that getting a warning, but not just for swearing).

I think it depends on the severity of the language. My friend got a 3 hour ban for using his "gives %t a mushroom stamp. THWAP!" macro once in IF. lol
