Happy 4th of July!
My husband and one of my daughters are going to Valleyfair today (Minnesota's answer to Disney World). And to celebrate the 4th of July, I'm--working.
Over the summer, I never seem to keep up. Between chauffering the kids around to activities and just the general noise and chaos of the house, as opposed to during the school year, it takes twice as long to do anything.
My older daughter will be grounded today, except for us going to the gym to work out, because of behavior yesterday. I'm going to hole up in my room with my laptop and hopefully get a lot done.
I guess one good thing is that a few of my tasks on my list match real life right now. I need to work on 2 or 3 new poems for my USA Poems collection, including one of the Statue of Liberty, and today is very fitting for patriotic poems. And I need to do some first drafts of poems for a girl with challenging behaviors, and unfortunately, I feel right in the middle of dealing with that!
Plus I have all sorts of freelance web work to do, not to mention laundry, watering the yard, etc.
Any other writers out there writing today instead of going to parades, cookouts, etc.?
