| March Challenge |
[Mar. 9th, 2007|08:58 pm] |
Well, it's March now, and time for another challenge! First of all, thanks to everyone who responded to our February challenge of Caribbean Carnival. Below are links to the fics ... please give them a read & send a little love to the authors! pepper202 was our first ever entrant, with Mardi Gras (Harry/Draco and Ron/Hermione)
blue_paris wrote Carnival, Wizard Style (Hermione, Lavender, Draco, Harry, Ron), and
dragonlit wrote Who Let the Dogs Out (Remus/Sirius, James, Peter).
The judges agreed to award 1,000 points each to those entrants making it in before the deadline (pepper202 and blue_paris) and 500 points to everyone submitting after the deadline, but before we awarded points. Thanks for participating! Hang onto those points, as we will award a gift ficlet to the person with the most points after the next round.
Oh ... and sesheta_66(yes, that would be me) wrote Three Lions and a Snake (Harry, Draco, Ron, Neville, Seamus, Dean, Hermione, with a hint of Harry/Draco).
The March challenge (are you ready?) is "Death Eaters Do Dallas." Feel free to interpret that as you will. Apparently, Lord Voldemort is a huge fan of Wizarding Idol, and he decided to run his own show out of Dallas this month. He has invited Severus Snape to bring his expertise from the main show, to join the festivities. So ...
Dallas, Texas is the venue. Think cowboys, cowboy boots and big cowboy hats. Bonus points for country music.
All Death Eaters are welcome ... of course Order members are too, although there's no guarantee they'll get out alive.
The judges are snarky Severus Snape, belittling Bellatrix Lestrange, and the dreaded Dark Lord himself.
Your prompts (choose one or more) are: "Ride 'em cowboy!" "Get along little doggy," and "My, what a big hat you have!"
Do with it what you will! To be eligible for judging/points awarding, please submit by March 31st.

| Who Let the Dogs Out! |
[Mar. 4th, 2007|09:28 pm] |
|
Title: Who Let the Dogs Out Author: dragonlit Characters/Pairings: Remus, Sirius, James, Peter Timeframe: Just post graduation for the Marauders, circa 1977 Word Count: 2060. Rating: R for boy kisses and some grinding. Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters. The HP Goddess JKR does. I just like to see them have some fun once in a while. Author's Notes: Unbeta'd so the mistakes are all my own. This is only my third HP fanfic other than drabbles, so be forewarned. Also, the story took off in a direction I wasn't expecting as my writing has a tendency to do. As a result, it is very late in being posted. Pure fluff and apologies for the use of a song that was clearly written after 1977 and taken from Moulin Rouge. (I was having a Ewan moment!) I wrote this at the request and to stop the whining of one of the mods. Just kidding about the whining. More like begging. Love her still though! Thanks for the prodding.

| February prompt |
[Feb. 7th, 2007|07:43 pm] |
February's prompt is any one of the following (you choose): "Don't worry, be happy!" "Feelin' hot, hot, hot!" or "Who let the dogs out?" You may use the prompt anywhere in your fic.
The theme is Caribbean Carnival, in honour of Carnival, which takes place on Monday, February 19th and Tuesday, February 20th. Think Caribbean music, lots of hip movement, and lots of fun!
Host: Professor Flitwick Regular Judges: Minerva McGonagall, Sybill Trelawny Guest Judges: The Patil Twins, who pay particular attention to the hip motions of the performers
This is your challenge ... do with it as you will. Submissions using one or more of the prompts, and received by the 28th, will be included in our "judging" phase to take place at the end of the month.

| WELCOME to Wizarding Idol |
[Feb. 2nd, 2007|08:14 pm] |
WELCOME to Wizarding Idol. This community is the brain child of charmed310 and sesheta_66, and we would love for you to become part of it.
Disclaimer: Of course, the wizarding world of Harry Potter is all the brain child of JK Rowling et al, without whom we wouldn't have this world to play in. No infringement meant. No money made.
So, you ask, what is Wizarding Idol? It is a place to post fics (and pics if you'd like) related to the theme of Wizarding Idol. We have identified regular and guest characters, which you can use or not use in your work. Each month we will provide a prompt and a theme, along with a list of which judges will be in attendance for that month's festivities. Much as the Idol shows travel their countries for candidates, we will travel the globe, trying to link the theme with the location. At the end of the month, all fics responding to the prompt will be included in a "judging" match moderated by, well, the mods (that would be us). Points will be awarded, etc. etc.
Non-prompt fics & pics are welcome, but should be noted as such in the subject line, and will not be part of the judging. All submissions should be in the overall theme of Wizarding Idol. You've probably seen the show(s) before, so you know the drill. ALL characters and pairings are welcome, as long as they are related to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, but we are not responsible for younger readers, so please ensure you use ratings to warn, and if you're underage, please be sure to read the ratings and/or warnings, and avoid viewing adult fics and pics.
SOOOOO ... without further adieu, we bring you Wizarding Idol!
Thanks in advance for playing - charmed310 and sesheta_66 |
