Doll availability?
I have a niece who's really into the Winx Club and for Christmas she wants two of the Winx dolls she doesn't own. Brandon (Sky? I don't get this double name thing as I've only watched a handful of episodes with her myself) and Layla the newer fairy in green. I can't seem to find them at Wal*Mart, Target, K-Mart or Toys R Us and I ran into this community and figured it would be the best place to ask. Are they not available until next year or something? I'd appreciate any information on this. Also, are there dolls of the other two witches? I actually like to watch the show when those three are on. Stormy kicks ass.

you can find Darcy and Stormy in the muscara.com site that was posted down aways. Unfortunately, those two are currently Italy exclusive. Brandon/Sky and Layla are some of the more harder to find ones. If you check eBay, you usually can find at least one there.

as for the Brandon/Sky name thing, Sky and Brandon switched identities before Season1 started (think season 0 that never got aired) - the reason for that was Sky's a prince and the whole identity switch was for security reasons apparently. Of course, that blows up in both their faces during season 1 - ah, the episode's called Day of the Royals, I believe.

Ah I see, thank you for the clarification. I can see that there most likely aren't any other hero boys out for sale then besides the Brandon/Sky doll. Why is the girliest one for sale? Pick the one with the attitude who acts all tough instead.

the Italians get both prince and squire - both in uniform and in regular street clothes. We're hoping that we get the rest of the males at some point

I have never seen Brandon out in stores, pinkponytail.com has him on their site for sale. Layla, I'm starting to see more of, although she seems to be the first snapped up.

And we wait for the American release of Darcy and Stormy. Many Trix people here. ;)

I can see why there would be. It is nice to see a cartoon with decent women for villains nowadays. I'm sorry but I find most of the fairies too damn annoying and if the witches aren't on then I suffer through the show when asked to watch with my neice. No offense or anything to anyone, Winx Club is one of the better new cartoons out there, I'm just not interested in many like I was when I was a kid myself.

Well, the lovely and talented [info]tanz_fanatika and myself are Jem collectors, so the similarities in look between the Trix and the Misfits were all sorts of squee for me (at least). Also, Icy has one of the best outfits out there. Gotta love the blue catsuit and black thigh boots. ;)

(I'm bad and don't even watch the cartoon because I just cannot deal with it, but I love the dolls)

Ah Jem... maybe that's why I like the witches so much. They subconsciously remind me of the Jem series. The Misfits were another great group of female villains. Damn I miss that show.

I'd definitely recommend eBay for both dolls. Brandon was the last doll to release from the original line, but he's still no longer in stores. (He really only appeared in KMarts anyway.) The properly renamed Sky (same doll, different box shape and name on box) was never released for the current Pixie Magic line.

Layla is easier to find than Brandon, but still quite a chore. I've been on the lookout for one for a friend for awhile now with no luck. She is bought very quickly, as she's a popular new character. There are tons on eBay though, so that's definitely your best bet.

And aren't the witches awesome? They're my favorite characters. Currently, they only exist in Italian doll form, as mentioned. The Italian dolls are bigger, a bit taller than Barbie size. I adore mine, though I still patiently await a Mattel version of each.

Thanks, I've not dealt with ebay much but I'd like to find her something she really would like. I never could complete a collection of dolls when I was growing up myself.

The show is on its second season so perhaps if they have another in Italy (I was surprised to find out this was originally an Italian cartoon, YEY for not going the JAPANIME route Fox!) it may be picked up here. It seems popular enough anyway.

They're starting to show the commercials with the Layla/Ayesha dolls on Cartoon Network, so they have to release her to Toys R Us or soemting soon; otherwise, they'l lhave to handle a horde of rugrats who want the dolls, lol.

I Found seriously about 10 Layla's today at different Toys R Us stores, I think she is getting slightly easier to find. Except the Dance Fashion version.

Sky is the Blonde one and Brandon is the Brown haired one they switched names in the beginning of their freshman year so Sky(The Blonde One) could know what it was like to be normal
