| Automated Garbage Collection |

Is this active anywhere yet? I just got a notice in the mail saying they are starting in my area and it's got me pretty worried.
I am curious if anyone has one of these already and if they are really sturdy etc. I am pretty concerned because I will be charged if it gets damaged or lost and i live in neighborhood with a really high vandalism rate. I have never managed to keep a recycling bin safe for more than two months. They come and collect it, and if i'm not out there within the hour to grab it back up, it's destroyed/gone before i get it. I hate the idea of leaving something that i'll have to replace for a fee out there all night(Our pick up usually comes at 6am!)
Also, they look pretty small, and as willing to recycle as i am, I worry that our garbage that ISN'T recycable will all fit in there. I have a baby and a toddler, and there's often quite a bit, plus i can see us being COMPLETELY SCREWED if we miss a day.. like we did this week. It says there isn't even an option if you have too much, like pay for extra or something.
Anyone have experience, even other city experience with this system? |

I don't have, and haven't had a DR since I was 18 and I'm almost 22 now. I'd like to stop going to walk in's everytime I need sometime. So part a of my question is what's that line, or hotline or whatnot that you call and they help you find a dr? Or, does anyone know of a non-creepy dr looking for new patients in or around the garden city area? |

1. Need any VHS converted to DVD? This is great for family movies. $15 / VHS. Quality tested. I supply the DVDs and labels.
2. Going away this holiday season? Need someone to take care of your dog for you? More Info.
3. Have some photos you'd like touched up? Price to be discussed. $15-$100 depending on what is required.
Example 1 - general touchups. Example 2 - colorizing. Example 3 - fancy. Example 4 - restoration.
I realize some of you are gonna make fun of me and my *skills* or lack there of but I could really use the extra cash. |

BRAND NEW IN BOX 5 piece Retro Diner Set
Brand new in the box is a retro 50s chrome diner set. Set includes table and 4 stools. 3 stools are in the box, one has been put together but has not been used. The table is still in the box as well.
I do not have a photo of the actual set as it is in my garage still in the boxes but I have included very similar photos. The photo of the individual stool is pretty much identical to the stool (2 round rings around the stool legs, not one ring) and the table is similar but a little different, larger than the one in the photo since it seats 4. The set is good quality chrome and is black covered seats and as well a black top on the table.

| Renting in Winnipeg |

I'm trying to rent an apartment for the month of December in Winnipeg. The caretaker of the place my boyfriend and I want is asking for the damage deposit along with our application.
He says if our application isn't approved, the money will be returned to us. To me, this sounds really sketchy. I'm in Toronto until Wednesday night, so I'd have to do an online bank transfer. I've done that before to pay rent, but never before being approved for a place or getting confirmation that it's mine.
Though I'd like to get this place, I don't want to get scammed out of my money.
Is this normal in Winnipeg? Am I taking stupid risks? Would it be a mistake to transfer the money? I was thinking I'd ask for a receipt by email so I can at least sort of cover my back. |
